BritPete
Great meeting, Great for TV, Great for speedway. Well done the Brits! straight through to the final! BUT, beware those Swedes on saturday, they will surely go through to the final, and Lindback and Max will be a different proposition there! P.S. I do not understand what liontamer was on about if Liontamer did not watch the meeting, then it was Liontamer's loss, it was GREAT! Grachan
Blimey! They've just mentioned on Radio 5 that Great Britain have qualified for the Speedway World Cup Final. There's a thing. I got all excited there for a couple of seconds.
Liontamer
I did watch the meeting & I really enjoyed it. It's just that I was bored rigid by the ONE HOUR of padding, waffling & re-runs of old meetings. Sky always do it. Anyway, great result for the Brits. Well done lads. One final comment. Why couldn't we have the Yanks in the tournament instead of Hungry & Italy. I'm sure the racing would be even better with the likes of Hancock, Hammil, Ermolenko etc involved. Let's face it, last night was a three team meeting.
hagonshocker
What I don't understand is the use of the joker in a 4 team meeting. In heat 12 Poland may have been 8 points behind GB but they were only 3 points behind Sweden. So they not only get closer to GB they overtake Sweden which hardly makes the tactic fair. Coming 2nd makes no differance so you are only playing catch up with the top team! Will have an affect in the play offs though! yes agreed thats going to very interesting and may result in some strange tactics by the 2nd & 3rd places sides....especially on a last heat decider and the team in 3rd are sufficiently enough behind but the 2nd placed side arent??...wonder if they should only allow the tactical movs up til heat 21??? Phil
Well done lads, you did your country proud. We could see you were well up for it and it sends a strong message out to the rest of the teams. Everyone gave it 110%. Roll on Saturday night with 5 lions on the track.
