SCB
Credit where it due, after a horendous crash in the final Nicki ran down the staright to drag his bike of the track. Not many would do that. Nice one

Tsunami
themanwiththeplan I think Nicki did what he thought was right and I applaud him for it. How many in the final would have done the same. None.
SCB
yeah well done nicki but did he do as sportsman or did he do because he doesnt want dirty hancock 2 win Well if he did it to stop Greg it was a bit stupid hey? Surely He wanted a re-run at the time as Nicki's World Championship hopes would have bene helped if Jonsson had wo the heat, so he was NOT thinking of himself. I'm not Nicki fan, infact I can't stand him but after hitting the fence at that speed I think he should be commended for even thinking of moving his bike. Shame for Greg Hancock (who was 2nd but come 3rd in the re-run) that the referee was so keen to press the red light button. Also loved Nicki comment when interviewed that eh had no problem with Crump in the incident where he was excluded but he had a problem with the referee. Shame more people have not learnt it the referee that does the excluding, not the fallen rider who normally get the blame. On top of all that, he was brillaint entertainment when he was throwing things and teaching me new words (Danish, of course!!) when he was excluded. Rob B
teaching me new words (Danish, of course!!) Not seeing much complaining after Nicki using the F world 5-6 times tonight on camera, Crump really got slagged off for using it once last year. Guest richtea78
I bet this thread doesnt run to 22 pages - why? - beacuse we would much rather slag him off than realise he is exactly what the sport needs. His actions in the final go to prove that he isnt malicious or evil just a little stupid sometimes. When in a few more years he has grown completly he will be an awesome rider rather than an excellant rider
The Grim Reaper
Well done Nikki, a true sportsman who, despite crashing out of the final still talks on camera with a big smile on his face. After having to listen to the usual anti Nikki crap spouted by messrs Tatum & Ermolenko all night, I hope they both choked on their words after his gesture in the final. What happened in the Crump incident was purely a racing incident caused by Nikki being thrown off his line by the track, however I can't for the life of me understand why 'cos it didn't cause anyone else any problems did it. I noticed that Crumpie patted him on the back before the re run, but I don't expect Mr Handoncock did, he just wants to keep his childish vendetta running. I'm still standing by waiting for the usual venemous anti Pedersen drivel to be posted though. diamonds_are_forever
I agree 100%. It just goes to show he is a nice guy underneath it all. At times he just lets himself down & gets a bad reputation over a few stupid things. I'm also not a fan, far from it, but tonight in that final he acted like the world champ that he is. Lets hope we see more of this side of him as I'd rather remember him as that rider who was a great sport but just overcooked it sometimes rather than that rider who was completely self centred & gave little respect to those he raced with. He was exactly the same at Eastie last week, not once rising to the bait Sky laid in front of him. Lets hope he sees out this year with continued dignity acting like a world champ. Lioness
I too say well done Nicki for a true display of sportsmanship. He could have held the decision that went against him earlier against Crump but he didn't. Instead he acknowledged it was his fault he came off and went to extremes to try and prevent the race from being stopped. He's restored just a little bit of faith there - I applaud him for true sportsmanship above and beyond
shortoi
I don't have any particularly strong feelings either way about Pedersen, TBH. I just call it as I see it, in this case, I think that the "Crump" incident was a pure accident, if it had been any other rider (who doesn't have a rep for controversial moves) then none of this "he did it on purpose" stuff would be on here. Also, a great effort to get his bike off the track, but Nicki, surely it would have been easier to wheel the thing off the track as opposed to dragging it?? Me too, and in my opinion the ref got it all wrong and Crump should have been excluded for losing control of his machine. Yes, Nicki rode him wide but there were yards of track left outside them and as Nicki said he was leading and therefore should be able to take whatever line he wanted to. Crump just laid it down in an attempt to get a re-run and it paid off this time. If Crump goes on to win the Championship is he going to do a "Penhall" and quit the sport for Hollywood, because on his performance tonight he should do well! The Grim Reaper
Also, a great effort to get his bike off the track, but Nicki, surely it would have been easier to wheel the thing off the track as opposed to dragging it?? I can't understand why Pedersen didn't think of that. After all it had only hit the safety fence at 70 MPH, so it's not like it would have been damaged or anything.
