Philip Addison
Interesting comparison Philip. I think there is something in what you say. Carter was, in many ways, a typical straight talking (please forgive me if that is too much a generalisation) but he siad it how it was & if he upset someone he would just shrug his shoulders & get on with. Pedersen is certainly similar in that respect, but the one vital difference is that KC (God rest him) knew where to draw the line on track, sadly something that Nicki has yet to learn. Careful what you say Dave the Mic about generalisation's,lol. Some people on here tend to take what's been posted and completely twist it or put their slant on things because they can't see past their starry eyes for their beloved heart throb rider. But why let the truth get in the way eh. Agree totally with what you say about the comparison.I never liked Kenny Carter but he was never a dirty or underhanded rider in any way.He was a very good rider but i didn't care for his attitude [ much like Pedersen's ] the way he built up and thrived on the ' I hate Yanks ' thing and when he came out and boasted ' I'm England's Number One ' that did it for me [ Even if he was England's No.1 or not ] People thrive on different things to spur them on,it's human nature and we're all different. You pick your poison. Some like Nicki and some don't like Nicki [ notice i didn't say Hate - it's only people that speak or type before really thinking that believe this ] I don't think peoples attitudes will change, they didn't with KC and they won't with NP. Gemma
NP is clearly a man under pressure He is not feeling under any pressure. Edited June 14, 2004 by Gemma
Kylmo
Pot/kettle. Not these days. No not these days, Gollob has matured into a brilliant racer & hopefully Pedersen will do the same. I just find it slightly ironic that it should be Gollob slagging him off. and Ermolenko
shazzybird
No not these days, Gollob has matured into a brilliant racer & hopefully Pedersen will do the same. I heard so many people saying similar all over the weekend. Hackney 1995 he was a very disliked rider especially when Boycey (bless him) gave him a slap now role reversal he is one of the popular riders maybe he has grown up, learnt respect for the sport and other riders. smillie
I, like many people feel the same towards Gollob, I hated him at one point, but he has grown up, and is a good rider for it! Yes I am a big Greg Hancock fan and what Nikki did to him was dam right dangerous, but something has to be done (and Im not just on about Nikki) before someone does end up seriously hurt or maybe killed! This sport is dangerous enough and I've seen some horrid crashes and incidednts in my time, but I don't ever want to see any rider injured(even the ones I don't like!)
