Concrete Cowboy
Just found this on Speedwayworld.tv Pop legend, Tony Hadley, is to make a special guest performance in Cardiff at THE FIM FIAT VANS BRITISH SPEEDWAY GRAND PRIX, it was announced today. Hadley will join pop diva, JAVINE, to entertain an estimated 40,000 fans who will pack the Millennium Stadium on Saturday night for what promises to be Cardiff’s loudest and most action packed night of the year. Both Javine and Hadley will add to the fast and furious action on the track as 24 of the world’s top speedway riders compete to win the biggest prize in international Speedway. Hadley will kick off the event with a selection of well-known hits culminating in a rendition of the Tom Jones’ classic, crowd sing-along, 'Delilah'. Leading opera singer, Laura Thomas, will then lead fans into both the Welsh and British National Anthems whilst Javine, famous for her brilliant performances on ITV’s ‘Popstars – The Rivals’, will treat fans to an exclusive live performance of her new single ‘Best of My Love’ during the interval. Hadley, former lead singer of ‘Spandau Ballet’ won the popular ‘Reborn in the US’ TV series last year and is still recognised as one of the UK’s leading male artists. (With a career spanning 25 years in the music industry, he has a legion of fans across all ages). The FIM Fiat Vans British Speedway Grand Prix is the highlight in the Speedway calendar. The action on the track is fast and furious with the world’s top riders, including five British riders, competing on single-geared, 500cc, methanol fuelled bikes without brakes, reaching speeds of over 80 mph. THE FIM Speedway Grand Prix Series is attracting a broad audience and with great entertainment throughout the evening including a spectacular fireworks display, it promises to be a great family night out. John Postlethwaite, Chief Executive of Benfield Sports International, rights-holders of the FIM Speedway Grand Prix Series, comments: “We are delighted to bring the FIM Fiat Vans British Speedway Grand Prix back to Cardiff and the atmosphere in the Millennium Stadium is always awesome. Whilst the focus of the evening is obviously on the track, we believe that the additional entertainment and in particular live music performances helps to broaden the appeal of Speedway to a wider audience. We believe that Tony Hadley and Javine are a great combination and will appeal to fans of all ages. It promises to be a fantastic evening.” Entry to the Stadium from 5pm. Engines start at 7pm. Joanne
Well I think they have made good choices this year. Tony Hadley for the middle to older generation and Javine for the younger ones. Asked my daughter who Javine is and she knows who it is.
