Getting the Train After the GP

Hi all

 

I'm after help again, I'm staying at the Premier Lodge in Caerphilly on Saturday night. I've checked on the National Rail website and there's a train back from Cardiff Central to Caerphilly at 23.10.

 

Can somebody with local knowledge let me know whether it would be sensible for me to come from and go back to Caerphilly by train, bearing in mind I'll have the boss and my two sons with me (8 and 5). Or should I just drive to the park and ride like I did last year??

Bear in mind there will no doubt be a queue of people trying to get trains on Sat night and boarding controls will more than likely be in place at Cardiff Central.

It should be ok though, so long as plenty of time is allowed between stadium and platform you should make it in time for 2310 Caerphilly,

I'm booked on the 2305 Swansea service so I'm hoping there will be no problems,

The station should have cleared by that time, the streaming thing works pretty well. Your other option for a Caerphilly train, I *think* you'd be able to pick it up at Queen Street station (check that out, Im not 100%) which is 5 mins walk from Central/the Stadium.
