.*EMMA*.
Thanx for that! now my dad is saying that we are not stopping in Newport we are staying at the Celtic Springs holiday inn express (something like that anyway) could anyone tell how far that is from the train station in Newport please? Thanx Emma
SCB
Do you know the address for it? Either way, if it in Newport it's a few miles from the station as it's on the edge of Newport and the station is in the centre.
Vincent Vega
Just like to wish all forum members a great time at the GP over the weekend I wont be there as I will be in Portugal trying to blag a ticket for the France England match. If I cant get one outside the ground I will probably watch it in a bar over there. Hopefully I will make it to Cardiff next year. Safe journey everyone. Joanne
I measured the distance from Newport Station to Newport Speedwayon my A-Z Cardiff and Newport, measured about 2.75 miles. Trouble is I don't know if Corporation Rd, Spytty Road and Queensway Meadows have footpaths so it looks like its the taxi both ways.
rabbit
Somerset on the Friday night for me (hope to see some Glasgow forum members there again this year), followed by the customary trip to Sam's Bar and the PoW on the Saturday before the GP. Can't wait - should be a great weekend!
f-s-p
I just want to see the GP on the box. We are coming to London for the sights, and I already checked my hotel, the Ibis Wembley, and they dont have skysports. Could somebody please tell me if there's a pub nearby showing the meeting, or is there a list of SkySports-bars in the web, like there's a list for Premiere- Sportsbar's here in Berlin? gooner_girl4eva
Can anyone tell me how much a taxi would be from Newport to Cardiff town center (roughly)? Hi Emma, Its about £20 as I've done that the last 2 years, its best to agree the fare rather than leave the meter on! Good luck Sorry just read your other message, not so sure about Celtic Springs sorry! Edited June 8, 2004 by gooner_girl4eva
doc
Hi Joanne, for the record I made the mistake of walking from Newport station and it took me over an hour. On the day after the GP there is usually a crowd of speedway folk at the station to share a cab with - just make sure you get a phone number for the journey back. As ever I've left it too late for the GP so it's another night in front of the TV. I don't think I could take another trip to Cardiff so soon after the play-offs. Enjoy the weekend.. Robbo
Corporation Road DOES have a footpath and so does Spytty road.It would take about an hour to walk from the station to the speedway if you aint familar with the area.

Guest RickDia1
I can't wait for the Cardiff GP on Saturday, I have had my ticket for nearly 4 months, how sad is that?? Anyone know where the best place to park is?
SCB
Trouble is I don't know if Corporation Rd, Spytty Road and Queensway Meadows have footpaths so it looks like its the taxi both ways. There are foot paths and it can be done. There are lots of road works about now though form the end of corporation road and on spitty road that might make it a bit difficult, it's hard enough getting a car down there so walking would be near impossible! .*EMMA*.
Thanx for everyones help the address for the hotel we are stopping in is Celtic Springs, Cleppa Park, Newport, Monmouthshire, NP10 8BA Will we need a taxi to get to the train station then? Thanx Emma
Railway End
Cleppa Park is on the Cardiff side of Newport. You could catch a bus outside the Hotel to Cardiff during the day and a train back at night to newport then a taxi back to the hotel. Or a bus or taxi into newport then return ticket to cardiff. Emma have a great day. Edited June 8, 2004 by Railway End
