dickiemint
EMMA The last bus from Cardiff to Newport (service 30) leaves Cardiff Bus Station at 10.50pm on the dot and stops just past the Celtic Springs Hotel. The bus stop to Cardiff is just down the road towards Newport and it is a 20 minute interval service to Cardiff with a journey time of about 40mins. Adult return fare approx £3, half fare for children.
Railway End
dickie Do you think emma would be better getting a taxi back from cardiff? That's if they can get one at that time of night. dickiemint
difficult to say but the bus times from Cardiff are 8.50pm, 9.20pm, 10.05pm and 10.50pm, a taxi from Cardiff to Celtic springs would be about £20.

Only 8 miles to train station from campsite and it only takes 30 mins each way! Edited June 8, 2004 by neil t
crazysue
Mines pretty simple... Friday night....work Saturday morning..drop 2 kids off with mother in law and drive to Ipswich. Get on the coach and arrive in Cardiff for about 3pm. Saturday night...watch the gp, get back on the coach and arrive back in Ipswich at about 3am..drive back to Felixstowe. Sunday...cook sunday roast, pick up the kids and probably do an update on the update forum.
Joanne
Hi Joanne, for the record I made the mistake of walking from Newport station and it took me over an hour. On the day after the GP there is usually a crowd of speedway folk at the station to share a cab with - just make sure you get a phone number for the journey back. As ever I've left it too late for the GP so it's another night in front of the TV. I don't think I could take another trip to Cardiff so soon after the play-offs. Enjoy the weekend.. Hi Doc Pity you're not going, you could have shared the walk with me Did you enjoy your holiday down under? Sorry to hear about West Ham
doc
My knees still haven't forgiven me for our 'stroll' around Copenhagen. Still, the brewery helped ! In typical Doc style I'm regretting not being organised for Cardiff - I may even turn up on the day and chance it. Oz - great. West Ham - not so.. DawnG
Joanne, we're planning on getting the train to Newport on Friday night. Not sure about a time yet, but we'll be getting a taxi to the stadium anyway. If I remember rightly from last year, it would be a hell of a walk to get there. Conkers
I've just checked the Railway Timetables.Last year there were additional trains running from Cardiff to Newport after the meeting. Whilst the time tables don't show them, does anyone know if they are putting extra trains on after the GP? Otherwise the trains at 10.20 and 11.20 are going to be very overcrowded! Just had information from Arriva Trains Wales. They are running extra trains after the meeting from Cardiff (the main station near to the Stadium) to Newport at the following times:- 22.15hrs 22.45hrs 23.15hrs 23.30hrs Hope this helps anyone who needs the info. They are running a strengthend servie which I assume means longer than average trains. See you there!
