  1. Now back. Seemed a hasty decision to call it off with 70 minutes to go and blue skies.
  2. Thanks. I'll be setting of around 15:30 - could you update me just about then please?
  3. Was going to go to this match, but don't want to do a 300 mile round trip to watch droplets gather on some mud An update at around 3pm would be much appreciated. What's the weather like now please?
  4. The problem LL has is that he is a racer. Because we are racing well into October, the tracks inevitably get slicker due to the weather. This seriously disadvantages ludders. I saw him at Workington early doors and he was very good. He was obviously poor during the play-offs. Just saying.
  5. That will be a full maximum for Robert Lambert then. It's a good job Newcastle had a patched up team or they would have really battered Workington What's Campton playing at doing wheelies when a hundred yards behind on the receiving end of a 5-1?
  6. Still don't fancy you across two legs against Somerset. All the best Rob That would be the same Somerset who we pasted 100 - 83 in the league over two legs?
  7. The bigger problem is that at the cut-off date (which I think is the 19th September) I suspect that not one team will have actually completed their league fixtures. Therefore you cannot call Somerset as league champions for being top of the league when it hasn't finished. So there
  8. I suspect Palavaara was dropped due to engine problems - he had an engine failure in heat one and didn't look under full power in his second ride. Was superb in his last ride though. If that was the case it's a shame he could not have been lent a bike.... Matej Kus was absolutely shocking. I don't mind a rider not being good enough at a particular track, they all have their favourites and the ones for whatever reason they don't like. But three times he got scared out of the way. On the first bend the home straight and the back straight. As soon as a rider got near him he just shut off the throttle and let them past. Simply appalling. Especially when Lambert who missed every start made two passing moves and was within a whisker of getting a third, Worrall, Rose and the excellent Lindgren were so competative and putting in the effort. Phillips was certainly trying, but I can't see that he is good enough at the moment for this level. Full points to all riders (except Kus) for putting on some enjoyable speedway over the 15 heats in what were trying conditions.
  9. It was about one and a half. How come you were not, not there? That doesn't make any sense. If you weren't drunk when you wrote it then you should look at your written verse and ask yourself what it portrays. I suggest you go back to the dark room and keep taking the drugs.
  10. I'm assuming you were drunk when you wrote this. Quite why you keep quoting three laps is beyond me when it wasn't anywhere near that.
  11. You should do better than listen to tittle tattle on the forum, it's often highly exaggerated to make a point. As you obivously weren't there, perhaps a decorous silence might be the next best thing. To quote "It is best to be though a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt".
  12. Not too bad, get around 500 miles out of the tank. I think it's only £1 for children as well
  13. Seeing that both teams are full strength I'll probably make the trip to watch this. If nothing else it will be a test of the car after having both turbo's and the camshaft replaced.....
  14. Have you been drinking? Every post you've made has had some sort of sly dig at Lambert. That is why me and everybody else who has read at least two of any of your posts on any thread will take it as read you have something against Lambert. Clearly you are a slack-jawed dribbling half-wit so I'll stop bothering trying to have an adult conversation.
  15. I said a lap and a half. That's not half a race. Why are you so annoyed? You are worse than Jenga who clearly has something against Lambert.
  16. Don't know what happened at Peterborough - but I do recall there was a lot of bitterness from the peterborough supporters over missed meetings. Hopefully, he has learnt a valuable lesson (being 17 at the time it's not unusual to make poor decisions) and will be better at Newcastle. From what I've seen of him this season, he's certainly got the desire and commitment to win races which is all that anybody can ask really. I'm not going to begrudge him kicking a post because he lost, makes a change from the helmet getting the treatment.
  17. I think it's more down to the fact you seem to have something against Robert Lambert. I've seen riders forget to turn on the fuel taps many times at different tracks over the years - it's normally on the second lap they run out of fuel, dependent upon how much fuel was in the bike. They are 500cc engines, so that should give some indication of how much fuel is in the engine at any time, plus the carb and then the fuel cell. It depends on how much the rider chooses to put in. That's why after a re-start some riders go to the pits and some don't. I don't know for certain that he forgot to turn the fuel taps on, but given that he started quickly, overtook a rider and then slowed down. Then suddenly after fiddling with the bike around the fuel taps, suddenly got upto full speed again it would appear to the be most likely explanation.
  18. Nominally get out of the pits? Does that mean he only thought he got out of the pits? He had overtaken Jensen and then conked out after about 1 1/2 laps - which is usually the amount of fuel held in the carburettor (I had included the carburettor as part of the engine in the earlier post). On what do you base your nominal knowledge on? Anything scientific or just something you've made up on the spot? The thing with fuel taps, is that if they are turned off, the bike stops after a bit. Then you turn them back on again and lo and behold, suddenly the bike starts working again.
  19. There were 88 on the back straight. I counted them during the tractor racing. Thankfully.
  20. That's about the time it goes, there's normally enough fuel in the engine for about two laps. He didn't make the gate so well, which on that track was all important. He was a lot faster than most riders, but couldn't get around them due to the single racing line available.
  21. It wasn't prepared well tonight. Was smooth, but not enough water. Entirely understandable, due to adverse weather possibility. Sometimes you can't prepare a good track for perfectly good reasons.
  22. Just got back. Was an interesting meeting that Workington developed an early lead which Newcastle threatened to overhaul, but never quite managed. Newcastle top 4 were very good. Despite it looking suspiciously like Lambert forgot to open his fuel in his first ride. What stood out was that in 11 rides, the Newcastle reserves failed to beat a Workington rider. No real overtaking after the first bend. Largely I think because the narrow straights mean there is only a single place to enter the bends. Which cannot be helped because of the rugby pitch. Travelling to and from tbe track, the Weather ranged from bright sunshine, high winds, rain and snow. Down to zero degrees at one point.
