You know such interesting things Chris. I wish I had made notes about BH weather in my diaries, when I was younger.
-
Yes, but having Ben and Simon at reserve would have been more of a negative than having Luke at reserve who can take 7 rides if necessary especially at home meetings IMHO. Maybe a straight swop Eddie for Anders and then having 2 strongish reserves may have been a better idea ?? All will be revealed next March/April whenever the season starts for us.
-
I was thinking the same to myself !!! I like Eddie but think Anders will be THE man next year.

As I have a spare 10 mins, let me be the first to give my opinion of the riders and how they will ride against their issued GSA's hopefully with no injuries at the start of next season; Eddie Kennett (10.65) Highly unlikely to ride to such a high average, expect to see him ride to about 9.5 average. Tyson Nelson ( 6.16) Hopefully he can control some of the undoubted speed and aggression he has, ave about 7.00 per meeting Jason Bunyan ( 5.80) Steady but not spectacular anymore, expect to ride to existing average 5.80 Steve Boxall ( 5.69) With the right mindset and more maintenance to equipment has ability to ride to about 7.50 Jason Garrity ( 5.45) Barring injury, has ability to be right up there. HOPE to see him reach 7.00+ this season Luke Bowen ( 5.12) Again injury dependant but hope he can get back to around 6.25+ Simon Lambert ( 3.00) I have concerns and unless improved from last year, will do well to stay at 3.00 Overall a team that has skill and ability, but too many riders that can be inconsistent and a bit tempremental. As I stated in a previous post I think that management and Jason B will do well to keep all riders focused on racing and not on each other when things do not go their way. Mid table to outside chance of playoffs, but of course we still await to see the make up of the other teams in the league.

Well Shadders old chap, you got in with a dodgy crowd this year ))) No comfy seats in the Temp Stand, out in the open with us startline boys now. Any you deserve to be told to F off by the management, you and Sarah only turn up for every home meeting, send updates on Twitter and speedway updates and I would think are the most regular Rye House fan at away meetings. I suppose you think that gives you the right to have an opinion on subjects that you care about ??? lol...

Gustix, I have no problem with not attending due to age and infirmity. But other posters who comment regularly on current Rye House affairs, just appear to be totally negative and are full of bile and hatred to the current Rye House promoter. I was in the group that disagreed with Len about the Doyle/Boxall affair but at least we voiced our opinion personally to the promoter and got told to F off personally , I did not hide behind my computer and make snide comments. Rye House is far away from being perfect, but at least there is a team on the track that we can grumble about every season, long live Len, the silly old fool.
-
The only problem with these 2 posts is that for different reasons, neither Gustix or Chris are 'paying customers' to Rye House !!!

Two points from Spin Kings post; 1. The trouble is with those 3 in the team the fireworks maybe in the Rye pits and not on the track 2, What were you doing with Nelson and Garritty last night Very sorry to see Anders go, thought he was ready to progress to an outright No. 1 this year and not so sure about having Simon Lambert back in the team. Showed a lot of effort last year for very little reward. Don't like to moan about something I have never done myself, but the team overall is not making me think title contenders next year.
-
I know its against what Len has said in recent years. But it does tie up with some names I have heard that Len has been chatting too. Also Mellgren, Nelson and Garrity nailed on for next year according to Len in local paper. I suppose they could be a second string and 2 reserves ???
-
Announced in the Hoddesdon and Broxbourne Mercury today. As always Len is one of the first promoters to announce his team for next year. Dependant on decisions at promoters conference etc. The team will contain; Anders Mellgren Tyson Nelson Jason Garritty and most probably Jason Bunyan Steve Boxall Luke Bowen Leaving one place for the customary 'experimental/No hoper' Looking ok but unless we have an injury free season and the seventh rider develops into a Tai or Eddie K next season I cant see us winning the league.

I think we are talking about Rockets team, not Milton Keynes MDL side against whom you might just scrape a couple of point win

The story I was told was that somebody had hit their head and had a large gash on their head that a first aider wanted the paramedic to have a look at. Also I spoke to Terry the normal start marshall and he had a back problem and did not feel well enough to carry out his duties as their was a suitably qualified replacement to take his place.

I have been standing every saturday night when meeting is on in the startline stand just in line with the starting gate for the last 10 years (poor old me ))) ) Half the entertainment of the evening is to watch the crowd between heats. The guy people are speaking of at present is known to me as 'old guy chewing a wasp', he's great fun to watch and see how close he gets to a coronary over the most minor of things. I have a mate who constantly moans from the time he enters the stadium to the time he leaves and over the last couple of weeks I have seen his blood pressure rise to almost bursting point as the fanfare sounds. Take a chill pill people, its sport, its an enjoyable night out and off of the track it's not life or death. And just because I join in with the fanfare and shoout it out as loud as I can, doen't make me a wind up artist does it Hehehehe. Go, watch it live, enjoy. Home or away, win or lose. C'mon the ROCKETS

Rye House fans twitter just tweeted that meeting expected to go ahead tonight. I reckon no more than 50/50 chance of action according to all weather forecasts I have seen. Overcast but dry at present approx. 1 mile from track. -

If this goes ahead I think the key match ups will be 2nd and 3rd heat leaders and reserves. Anders against Tungate, slight home advantage, Nelson against Lanham, pretty even, Kasper and Jason G against Richie and Adam, could go either way dependant if Jason returns as he finished before injury and if Richie can outgate Kasper, as Richies starting is patchy and Kaspers is virtually non-existent. Could be close but hope that Rockets can just take the 3 points on offer.
