  1. Doh !!!! Late night watching the TV after the meeting last night ))) As you might of guessed I mean today at return fixture in Glasgow )))
  2. Danny Phillips in for Stefan Neilson, don't know much about him but I hope he can sneak a couple of points as we need everything we can get to get a result from this fixture. Good Luck and safe racing to all.
  3. Will make it as far as the Rye pub for about 6pm, then depending on mood will walk round to track maybe. The days of nothing gets in the way of Saturday night speedway are long gone I am afraid. Apathy rules....... when I can be bothered ))
  4. Rockets LC/PL averages after Sheffield, home EK 9.36 MT 4.86 JB 3.56 JG 5.88 LB 5.83 SB 6.58 SL 1.25 Courtesy of Shadders on Rye House Fans Facebook Site
  5. If Len manages to find a replacement rider for Simon at above 5.45, it would mean we have a pretty potent reserve pairing of Jason Garrity and Steve Boxall. 7 rides each from those two along with Eddie K would be enough to see off quite a few teams in the PL.
  6. Remember we do have 5.86 to use on a replacement rider.
  7. As Scunthorpe have now redeclared with Klindt. A possibility would be replace JB with Mellgren and still have almost 4 to replace Lambert. If we are going to have someone who is consistently scoring well below 3, why not give a youngster a chance or bring back someone who has more chance of scoring their average ??? How long has Lambert been in the PL and how many chances has he had ?
  8. Just come in from sunbathing in the garden about a mile away from track (( But to be honest heavy rain this morning and very dark clouds starting to appear in the south, looks like more rain to come.
  9. With this frenzy of riders being sacked and replaced by better performing riders, the world being searched for riders that will ride above their average, calculations to see if Elite riders can double down into the Premier League. Deep inside the Rocket HQ, Len and John are deep in conversation. "I think they will crack under pressure" "No, I am sure they will be okay" "We have got to consider our budget" "Sometimes a decision has to be made, no messing around, be decisive and just do it" "Right !!! Chocolate Hob Nobs is it then !!!! Now have you had any thoughts about riders ??"
  10. New green sheet averages due out ? More points to make required changes? Just a thought!!!
  11. Olly just tweeted, he is feeling rough after last nights crash and will not race tonight, Presume R/R will be used.
  12. Don't think Len bought his contract, I think Jason is still a Belle Vue asset ? But I could be wrong
  13. I know that Rye have preference when it comes to fixture clashes, but am I right in saying that neither club he races for this season own his registration ? Do Rye have any form of sanction or way of preventing him from giving preference to Coventry ??
  14. Reported on twitter this morning that Jason Garrity has reported ready to race tonight for Coventry (Friday). Rye House are expecting to have R/R in place of injured Jason Garrity tomorrow night (Saturday). One has to wonder about his priorities and willingness to ride for Rye House ????
  15. Bloody hell Shads, you were at Rye House Speedway tea bar !!! Perhaps the barrista was have a bad night. Were they using the Arabica beans or the Costa Rican blend ??? I think you may have got an idea when you ordered your 'tall skinny decaff latte with mocca and caramel shot' and the girl answered 'tea or coffee?' you may have got the idea you poseur ))) lol.
  16. And you are close to the bar, which is where I will be standing tomorrow )) R/R for Jason B, hope the others can cover, all but Eddie eligible for rides. Looking forward to starting the season with a good performance.
  17. No problem, in 2012 we started PL and cup campaign with R/R and 2 guests.
  18. Wouldn't have thought it would be worth it to return before the NZ GP, so most probably during week commencing 7th April. But maybe we will be surprised at P&P day, Friday/Saturday ??

  20. For anybody who feels starved of speedway and wants a small fix this weekend. See below taken from Rye House Website. The Cavalcade of Speed being staged at Rye House Stadium by the Quad Racing Association is now less a week away, with a dateline of Sunday, February 23rd. The doors will open to the public at noon, with licensed bars and fast food outlets also available. As well as the excitement of the powerful Quad bikes, there will also be mini-bike action, plus six or seven Speedway demonstration races. New Rockets No.1 Edward Kennett is set to feature in that part of the programme, together with Testimonial star Luke Bowen and Steve Boxall, plus Kent Kings Ben Morley, Daniel Blake and Brandon Freemantle. The meeting is planned to go ahead regardless of the weather, so rain or shine the public will have a final chance to see track action at Rye House before the new air fence is fitted. Admission is: Adults at £5, with children free. A race card will also be on sale.
  21. Haven't seen much NL since regular meetings at Rye ended, but these 7 seem to all have a good chance of improving Ben Morley 7.13 Luke Chessell 4.22 Tom Perry 6.30 Liam Carr 6.87 Lewis Rose 6.76 Matt Williamson 3.33 Jack Kingston 4.20
  22. Just announced that Luke has been awarded testimonial meeting for 10 years service with Rye House on 13th July 2014. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy, 100% Rye House, shows that sometimes loyalty is rewarded. Now lets just hope for good weather a bumper crowd and maybe the return of some of Lukes ex-team mates, Tai, Linus, Robbo and others
  23. Not so amazing really, most promoters do it. Ask the Leicester and Somerset promotion who seem to be going through the no visa problem with Jason Doyle. And there are rumours of others being affected as well. Sheet happens, now move on.
  24. Interesting item on Rye House website about the theory and construction of one of the safest fences in speedway and how Len is adapting it to incorporate the 2014 air fence requirements. http://ryehouserockets.co/news.php?extend.727.1 'There is little doubting that in many ways, Poland has become the centre of the Speedway universe, whether it be in terms of crowds, drawing power for riders or its status as current World Cup holders – and winners of six of the last nine titles. Now, however, it looks as though a part of that country has found an unexpected attraction to a corner of East Hertfordshire. Polish First League club PSŻ Poznań have approached Rye House for advice on safety fence design in advance of major changes to their own circuit. As club vice-president Bartosz Kuczynski explained in his initial enquiry, “We are looking for inspiration in Britain - the cradle of speedway - because we know there are certain differences between the stadiums in our countries and we wish to learn something new”. Rye House supremo Len Silver’s has already responded to the request, and his description provide a fascinating technical insight into both the Hoddesdon fence’s original design and Silver’s approach to the air fence element that has been made obligatory at all British circuits in 2014. “The fence at Rye House is a fully suspended fence with no permanent posts behind it which riders can hit. Previously it was a chain-link fence with 50cm wooden kick boards, but from the 2014 season it will be an air fence in the corners and chain-link in the straights. “In terms of specific design, the strong metal posts are set well back from the track at each corner and straining wires are stretched tightly between these posts. In the corners the straining wires are pulled into a curved shape by short wires pulling at right angles to the main wire and these are held in place by stakes in the ground which do not protrude above ground level (and are therefore no hazard). “We are using the same principle with the air fence so that if a rider hits the air fence and slides under it, the fence will simply lift and the rider cannot get hurt other than by hitting his own motorcycle. We are sure that for rider safety, it is the best fence anywhere.” While many Rye House supporters already have general knowledge about the fence and the benefits that its collapsible construction provided in the past, Silver’s comments here provide an extra level of detail and insight into the technical mechanics behind it. Bartosz himself is so intrigued that he is now planning a visit to the circuit to see for himself! We will keep you posted with full coverage of that occasion.' copied from Rye House website.
  25. I see Tyson qualified for Aussie Champs last night, equal points to Sam Masters but 2nd place on countback. Just hope he goes well in the main championship starting tonight. http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/board/55/australian-new-zealand-speedway Well done Nelson.
