If you read my post you will see that I say that in my opinion they will NOT be in the 2013 Rockets Team, but if we did have one I would wish it to be Jason Doyle. Already signed and sealed for Rye next year are if Len is to be believed, Mellgren, Garrity, Tyson Nelson, Kasper Lykke and Bunyan. I think you will find that is just one member of the Wasps 2011 winning team.

Seeing Lens statement on the BSPA site this morning that he has 5 members of the 2013 team sorted and is just looking for a No 1 and a reserve. With his words that the No 1 has to be Experienced, Not spectacular, Not a prima donna to fit in with the family atmosphere of the team, makes me think that nexts years No 1 will be Kevin Doolan ??? Previously mentioned have been; Eddie Kennett - prima dona ? Sam Masters - prima dona, not mature enough Ben Barker - Not experienced enough Charlie Gjedde - prima dona, not reliable enough Craig Cooke - Not experienced enough Josh Grajconek - Not experienced enough Lewis Bridger - All of the above ))) Jason Doyle - Would love it but dont think will come to Rye permanent ? Leigh Lanham - fits the bill but is he a No 1 ?? Olly Allen - fits the bill ??? Any other ideas ??

According to Luke, he has to wait until after metalwork removed from leg and recovered from that procedure, expected to be July/Aug 2013. Has been told its too dangerous to race with pins etc. in leg. I see talk about Eddie K returning to PL ? I thought I had seen somewhere that riders with an average over 6 could not double down ??? Just thinking and playing around but, how about; 1. Kennett 10 ?/Barker 9.83 2. Bunyan 5.14 3. Kling 6.35 4. Nelson 5.33 5. Mellgren 6.47 6. Garrity 4.79 7. Neilsen 4.28 Total 42.36/42.19 Not sure exactly on Eddies average ??? But food for thought )))

I quite agree Shads )) And I will be telling the management all this at the 'Official Supporters Club' Dinner and Dance tonight. PS, you not invited ????

Although Anders average is lower than Wrights according to last set of greensheets, Len says he's signed and sealed for Rye House next year.

After Lens statement last night about next years team being the youngest fielded etc etc and his off the record statement that there will be 4 teenagers, 1 21 year old and 2 older riders, I think that only the number one position is the real mystery for most rye supporters ))) 1. Gjedde, Doolan, Masters ??? 2. Tyson Nelson (19/20) 3. Anders Mellgren (21) 4. Jason Bunyan (33 ?) 5. Ricky Kling (24/25?) 6. Jason Garrity (19) 7. Kasper Lykke (18?) Sam Masters (21/22) was the big rumour I was told last night, if so then it will not be as Len stated with the ages, but not far out. Very interesting team, plenty of room for improvement, but only 2 fully british riders.

Rye House V Berwick Pct 2nd Leg) 28th October 6pm
bolly replied to Shadders's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Shads I know that you did not go on principle but I thought Rye did well tonight and not the usual subjects ))) Kasper, still no good from the gate but was the fastest around the circuit by far. Simon Lambert, I criticised when he joined but tonight he was excellent value around Rye. Jason Bunyan, top banana ))) Spoke to B4E briefly and I commiserated her that Bandits did not have the best of guests in both Fisher and Jacobs. I did notice that Doolan was celebrating like a full member of the team when we won ??? ))) -
Hey Shadders, you better read todays Hoddesdon and Broxbourne Mercury ))) Len gives you a right blasting for your tweets posted to last weeks @MercSport regarding Rye House ))) Constant critic, mostly ill informed !!! grossly unfair, totally irrellavent and typical of Shadwell. Hehehe just a few words from Lens reply to Chris Charalambous Len states he was contractually bound to include Steve Boxall and release Jason Doyle in March 2011. He has major ambitions for the club but this year has been unprecedented with the number of serious injuries and riders deciding to retire mid-season. He also states that ambition is shown with the aquisition of the contracts of Jason Garrity and Kasper Lykke, and mentions the enhanced performances of Anders Mellgren. By the way, congratulations to Anders on last weeks top performance in the PLRC

1.Doolan 7.29 2.Bunyan 5.14 3.Mellgren 6.47 4.Nelson 5.33 5.Kling 6.35 6.Nielsen 4.28 7.Garrity 4.79 Total 39.65 Usual Rye line up about 3 below points limit. Unusual Rye line up with 5 foreign riders. 2 riders with experience and most prob will not raise average. 4 riders who I fully expect to keep improving and raise there averages 1 rider who if they turn up could be good news And who knows, maybe Charlie will return and do a few meetings for us at the start of the season ))
-
Chris will not be fit enough to start next season, when he was last at Rye he said that there is still pressure and inflamation of damaged vertebra. I think that 2014 will be more likely if Chris does decide to return to speedway.
-
Love the team Ben, but Ijust cannot see Robbo returning (as much as we all would love it). When I spoke to Len last week he was pretty sure about the return of Nelson, so swop Robbo for Nelson in your team and I think it will be much more likely to start the season.
-
Maybe I should have said in no particular order and I cannot be bothered to work out all aves, but pretty sure it will be well inside limit ))) Got no idea about R/R but I am sure Len will keep a place open for Luke. Even if it is a temp signing like 'little Ben' or James Sargeant to cover until he is declared fit. Lambo to Sheffield is popular thinking and its 50/50 in the startline stand as to whether Bunyan will get another year. Whats the thoughts from the posh seats where you sit then ? ))
-
Ok, heres my latest guess at next years line up 1.Ricky Kling 2.Anders Mellgren 3.Tyson Nelson 4.R/R Luke Bowen 5.Jason Garritty 6.Kasper Lykke 7. ???

bolly replied to cityrebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Yes, but with an EL ave of 3.97, he would come in on a reasonable ave I think. 3.97 x 1.6 = ???, Less than 8 anyway Maybe not a big No. 1 but I think with the way the team looks to be shaping, he would fit in. Talking to him last night he seems like a good lad too )) -

Yes I did and he said that if at all possible he will be back with Rye. Lens got to agree to get his registration from BSPA but he likes it at Rye. Ricky and Ludwig dont know their plans for next year yet ( or are not saying). They all say that riding for Rye House is a pleasure and gets a big reccomendation from ex-rye riders like Linus and Stefan, on the continent. Shads Just seen tweet, put 2 and 2 together and most probably wrong but looks like next year could be interesting )) -

Rye House V Ipswich 6th October
bolly replied to crazysue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Hi Shads Crowd ok as far as I could see, about normal for for meetings over the last few weeks. Some good performances from all the Rockets, as someone said to me, a couple looked like they were racing for a team place next year )) Doyle- Normal classy self, sitting behind and protecting Rye riders in first couple of outings. Mellgren- Bike problems in first 2 outings while in the mix or leading. Jason G- Character and class, nailed on for next year. Jason B- Looking good when he gates, but still goes missing at points during the meeting. Kasper- Please please learn to gate and we will have a cracking rider here. Simon- Couple of wins early on then faded, looks uncomfortable on Rye Track, Had a few words with Len before the meeting and he said that he has 4 names pencilled in already for next year. As he put it 'four of the best young riders in the league'. I hope it is Garrity, Mellgren and Jasper. Then I think he means Nelson who he promises will be back next season. I don't think Doyles in the frame (( and I gather he has one hand on Mellgrens registration. So next year we are looking like; 1. ??? (Doolan/Masters) 2. Garrity 3. Mellgren 4. Nelson 5. ?? (Lanham/Luke Bowen when fit) 6. Jasper 7. Bunyan/Lambert -

bolly replied to bolly's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Taken from Press Releases on BSPA Following one of the most traumatic seasons in the club's history, the Silver Ski Rockets aim to finish on a high note in the end of season Premier Challenge Trophy competition. The official October averages now change the Rockets’ reserve positions, with Kasper Lykke and Simon Lambert filling those berths and Jason Garrity moving up into the main body of the team for the first time. Len Silver is calling upon the fans of Hertfordshire and Essex to rally round the team and show their support in big numbers for the fixtures against Ipswich and Sheffield,. "We need to end the year on a high note" he said. "After such a disastrous season our riders are rallying to bring some late success and there is no doubt that the quantity of support will help that cause. Our result against Edinburgh was a clear demonstration that the Rockets can beat the best and I am very confident that the team will succeed." Charlie Gjedde remains sidelined and John Sampford, team manager, is scouring the country for able guests to cover his absence. Workington's number one, who loves the Owlerton track, Richard Lawson, is drafted in for the match at Sheffield this Thursday, while regular "honourary Rocket" Jason Doyle is on standby to step in for Gjedde against Sheffield on Saturday. -

Its the hot dog from the burger van next to the refs box a few onions and the extra hot chilli relish, mmmmmmmmmm thats damn tasty. I think I am the only one to have the chilli relish as it has gone down very slowly, but there was not much left in the bottle now, so don't go nicking it all And bothered or not I will be in my normal place on the startline stand as I have been for every home meeting rockets and raiders this year.
