  1. Shadders, I'm not saying we are going to win the league or cup this year, but if the guys carry on like they have started its going to be interesting watching them try ))) Mid table to outside chance of play-offs as long as not to many more injuries. With Anders, Kasper, Jason G and Tyson all improving their averages.
  2. But theres a difference between any idiot seeing it written on the internet or in the paper and supporters who have actually seen and experienced the quality and enthusiasm of the young riders on track commenting on personal experience. I think most of your objections from previous years have now been rectified. Out and out number one, tick. Exciting new riders, tick. new shale and binder to reduce dust and produce better racing, tick. prices not increased now in line with most other PL clubs, tick. Hatred of Len Silver, still there i'm afraid. I am not in Lens little team or one of his mates, but I do like to know that Rye is not in threat of bankruptcy or begging for cash every season. Make the best of what we have and the sport that we follow. Support your team.
  3. So Chris what did you think of the team on track when you actually saw them at Rye House, Ipswich or Plymouth ? Whatever the averages say I think that we have some of the most exciting and capable of improvement riders in the league. Every member of the original seven has impressed at times, so unlucky to have another injury strewn start to the season like last year, team management would not of helped Bunyan and Lambert in their accidents, both sustained while trying to overtake opposing riders. Come and have a chat with us next time you get to track. Inline with the startline at the front of the stand.
  4. At least Len states that he is looking at replacements in todays Mercury. But I should think its R/R for at least a week or two.
  5. Rob was at Rye last weekend and not very complimentary about The Rockets when it was mentioned that he might want to rejoin the team for a while
  6. Well I make it 12.13 to use if Simon and Jason not in team. Charlies final average last year was 9.22 leaving 2.91, so unless BSPA have reduced his average I don't think it will work.
  7. You obviously didn't attend last year we had very little problem with the track since Len layed the new shale and used the binding additive to minimise the dust. With regards to the lack of ambulances at yesterdays meeting, even if two had been available then during the Bunyan/Makinen crash. I am sure that both would of been used to ferry both riders to hospital instead of telling Makinen to make his own way. As for availability of county ambulances that is beyond the control of even Len. Unfortunate meeting, hope for the quick recovery of all the injured riders and move on......
  8. Has anybody speculated yet on who can/will ride for the Rockets for the short/medium term future as it looks as though Simon and Jason B will be out for a minimum of 4 to 6 weeks for Simon and ??? for Jason B. Ben Morley Steve Boxall Richie Hawkins Are likely candidates, with Taylor Poole Emiliano Sanchez Jordan Frampton as longshots Maybe its time for the return of 'TOMMY ALLEN' I've got no idea, but I would think that Ben Morley will be in for next weekend with our old mate R/R.
  9. People moan and whinge everytime something like this happens. Yesterday was a very similar scenario to the first meeting of last season but at Ippos track: Very cold weather Track preperation questioned Riders with not much track time, looking to impress No second ambulance Long Delays for injured riders and track repairs Result Badly Injured riders Cold and miserable spectators Keyboard Commandos setting the world to rights without leaving their living room seats Its no good sitting on here and moaning about it and trying to score points off the opposition (they dont count for league places), go to the meetings keep the interest and turnover moving, speak to your promoter or who ever with your thoughts and maybe think of sensible ways of improving the sport we all love.
  10. Well done Shads, I was just trying to work out how to post a link to that )) Good wishes to Jason, hope he will be back soon.
  11. Just got back from the meeting and a quick après liquid libration. Len arrived at the Pub and when asked how Jason was he said not good. I do not wish to spread any news without facts, but I think it may be sometime before we see Jason Bunyan back on a bike. Maybe we should not have Ipswich as our opening opponents to the season as they seem feted to end up with both teams losing riders to injuries. My best wishes to all riders Jason, Simon and Jari and hope for a speedy recovery to all injuries sustained.
  12. Good views from upstairs bar seating. But steep steps to get to bar area.
  13. No, I would never upset a lady (even one from Berwick upon Tweed)
  14. I was thinking of changing my viewing position this year. Maybe I will stand with 2 or 3 of my tallest mates about a third of the way along the tempstand, One step down from the back I'm always up for a bit of banter with the local postie
  15. When I got to the stadium, I saw Shadders and a couple of other Rye House fans standing at the bottom of the terracing and there was nobody in chairs for at least 5 or 6 steps behind them.
  16. Shadders, Are you going to make it in time for tomorrows meeting ? Or are you still waiting for tube at Down St station
  17. Thanks Dave ))) Hope to see you Friday.
  18. I can hear the bikes, but its too cold and as I haven't got a car today. I will wait to hear from any nutters that are brave enough to visit and see how the boys are looking this season. Cant decide if I will go to Ipswich on Friday yet, don't suppose it will be any warmer by then ??
  19. Lets have some more details then !!! Who's there, what do they look like ?? Times etc... Get on top of the multi-storey car park and post some updates. We know you do naff all else when your meant to be at work
  20. The season starts next week, and we still have a month before our first meeting at Rye House ((( Bored bored bored
  21. So, Lens bringing back Stevie B into team ? Maybe he's boxing clever ? Or it could just be a stab in the dark ?? Hmmmmmmmmm.
  22. At least Jason is a decent advert for Speedway and as close as the Kiwis have to a local champion to cheer on, 7 or 8 times NZ champion and was not totally embarrassed in such company last year. Maybe Batch can have Wards place in the GP ?? Dependant on any future fall out from his latest antics. I for one will be following Jasons progress with interest and pride that he represents NZ and the ROCKETS at this meeting. Good Luck 'Bunny' for the GP and the season ahead.
  23. Just cancelled my Sky Sports subscription and stated lack of Live Speedway GP's as my reason for cancelling. Offered me all the discount packages and said that I must phone to complete the deal !!! I stated I was out of the country and could only communicate via e-mail so they gave up and it took about 30 seconds online to complete necessary information. Thats a few less £££ from me they will get.
  24. Locally is the Hatfield Mountain Bike Ride, which I think will be going down the Lea towpath at Rye House during the late morning and early afternoon ?? And after the millions of competitors and spectators have vacated the area, the late start maybe because of the 5.30pm Kick off for the F A Cup Final, which will most probably involve Spurs Therefore only Shadders will be available to watch the Rockets at 7.00pm as that other North London team will have lost interest in any cup or league competition by this date
