  1. I don't understand all the negativity about Ole Olsen. He makes good and bad tracks, just like any other person could do. the track in Copenhagen was the best I've seen for long time. Cardiff was great! Vojens wasn't the best track, I agree, but I've seen worse tracks. who remember Nya Ullevi? the mud bath... race off in Reading 2006? there are good and bad tracks, and the riders seem to accept it. I'm happy that the race off and final are held in DK, as I am Danish, but I have also said on Danish forums that the race off and final should be held on neutral venue. no help from audience. an alternative: the whole world cup: round 1-2, race off and final could be held in the same country, on the same or different venues. how many would go to race off and final if it's held in Latvia, Hungary, Slovenia, Norway or Austria? Nations that possibly won't reach either round 1-2 or race off. the money, the interest and the audience are in Denmark, Sweden, GB and Poland. I suppose Australia is to far away for SWC. Denmark is a strong nation, but speedway is not as popular in DK as in Sweden or Poland, which is a shame because the tracks in DK are suffering from it. We have a world champ now, we won SWC last year, but still the tracks remain in poor condition. But there's no money in speedway, according to the moneymen, and why spending money on a sport that doesn't reach the whole nation? So, I'm glad that I next year get the chance to see speedway live more than one time(Parken), however; when it's said then I still think the SWC should be held in another country, not because I don't want SWC to be held in DK, but because as long as the money isn't there to create good tracks, then it shouldn't be held in DK at all. hard words from a Danish speedway fanatic!
  2. true, Parken is to be reconstructed, but only the coca cola-stand; Carlsberg, Fona and Dong remain as they are, it will only mean limited capacity and less tickets. 1st GP - Krsko- 26th April If the European GP continues being the second gp, it will probably be 10th May in Leszno? Gotthenberg - May 24th - Ullevi Gothenburg Copenhagen- 14th June - Parken- super GP?: the winner gets 200.000 dollars. rumour in DK Cardiff - June 28th -Millenium Stadium.-super GP? WORLD CUP!! Bydgoszh? Mallila? Latvia? The riders don't like the venue, because it's difficult to get there? Gelsenkirchen? 3 years contract. -super GP? Lonigo? a GP without Lonigo? Australia-just a rumour? Prague? Ditto Lonigo 12 gps or more?
  3. If Adams, Hancock and Gollob won't ride next year, the GP's will lose some of the best riders in the world, and right now I don't think there are any other riders, who can replace them with entertaining and exciting speedway. But who will replace them, if they call it a day? In some ways, it would be fair enough to choose nr.4-6 from gp challence, which was Bjerre, Lubos and Rafal Dubrucki, because they all were really close to make into the final, and Lubos ended 4th because of the re-run. as being Danish I'm over the moon by having 4 Danes in the GPs next year, and it would have been great with one more, Bjerre, but on the other hand, I'm glad that we only get 4, because 5 Danes will be to many though, but I'm agree with you that Bjerre, in some ways, deserves it more than Bjarne, but in the end, it was Bjarne who made it and not Bjerre. then nr.9-11 might be in for nomination for 2008: Jonsson, Hampel, Holta, Jagus, Nicholls? after Krsko it seems like Nicholls and Holta are fighting for finish in top 8, and it is possible. But I think, if Hancock, Adams and Gollob call it a day, Nicholls would have good chances to get a Wild card. before hearing that the three might stop in the end of the season I considered who will join 2008. at this moment we have 4 Danes, 2 Aussies, 1 Pole, 1 Brit, 1 American and 1 Chech. so we miss 5 riders: nr.8 and 4 wildcards. Nicki Pedersen, DK Leigh Adams, AUS Jason Crump, AUS Tomasz Gollob, Pol Hans Andersen, DK Greg Hancock, USA Chris Harris, GB Niels-Kristian Iversen, DK Lukas Dryml, CHE.R Bjarne Pedersen, DK. Andreas Jonsson, SWE(wildcard or 8th) Scott Nicholls, GB(wildcard or 8th) Jaroslaw Hampel, POL(wildcard or 8th) Krystof Kasprzak, POL(Wildcard)? Fredrik Lindgren, SWE(wildcard)? tonight in Krsko, Holta and Nicholls showed that they want to finish in top 8, but who will it be? personally, I want Nicholls or Jonsson to end 8th, mostly Jonsson, as Harris is already in, and it would be strange without him in the GPs. it's a dilemma for me, because I want them both to join 2008, but I'm sure both of them will return next year, one as 8th and one as wildcard. Holta has the chance to finish 8th, but if he doesn't, who will then be the second Pole? they will have 2-3 Poles I suppose. probably Hampel and KK(perhaps?)? Sweden will have 2 riders as well, and without a doubt, AJ will be one of them, and then I think it would be Freddie Lindgren. Then GB will have 2 riders as well, Harris and Nicholls. But if Adams, Hancock and Gollob calls it a day 3 more places are left, and it would be nice, if we could se some new faces, no offence Holta-fans! How about a German or a Russian? my candidates are: Kenneth Bjerre(wishing) Lubos Tomicek Laguta(wildcard from Latvia) Jonas Davidsson Christian Hefenbrock Daniel King I'm tired, so I apologize if this doesn't make sense at all
  4. it sounds like Gollob is pretty unlucky, an airplane crash and now a car crash? luckily he and his team are ok..
  5. why are Danes not allowed to see what happens in the pit? I heard what happend but we never see the whole situation, afterwards we can read it in our newspapers. well, I'm not surprised about Nicki's behaviour, and as I am a Hans Andersen-fan I think I just keep my opinion about Nicki to myself. Nicki was angry after the Danish Championship as well, and why? because he finished 3rd and felt that Hans rode too hard on him.
  6. I'm not a fan of Scott Nicholls, and rarely support the Brits, almost never, however I think Chris Harris is a talented rider, a shame he didn't show that in the final, but he rode superb in Cardiff and have to be a proof on that not all British riders are rubbish. GB have many young talents as well, Richard Hall, Daniel King; they are young but I believe they will shine in 5 years or something. admitted; GB was rubbish in the final, I had expected more from them, but again I think it's unfair to blame Middlo for a bad performance, because after all he's not the one who rode the bikes. I choose to believe that the Brits simply didn't find the right set up through the final... to the Hans Andersen talk, I'm a huge fan of Hans, and I agree with some of you. when Hans says something that doesn't suit the opinion of many Brits, you start accusing him for being a bad loser etc. of course Hans is a bad loser, so is every sportman, who have the will to win, the first and biggest loser is the one who ends up second, on the other hand, I understand his suspicion(wrong spelled), because it's funny that the Poles always ride that fast when they ride in Poland, and when they are in DK or Britain they hardly know how to win a heat. I guess the main trouble in this case is the rule of changing riders, without being able to show a writing that says that this rider can't finish his heats caused by an injury. and it is weird that GW recovered as soon as a Pole won a heat and jumped around with a foot injury. AJ chrashed in Cardiff and got hurt, AL chrashed in Coventry, Nicki P has gallstones and needs an operation. without favorizing the Danes, though I'm Danish, then I'm impressed that Nicki continues riding with pains and a possibility of getting cramps during a heat, when GW, EK and the Aussie(CH?) weren't able to continue. I remember that Crump rode in Lonigo last year, however he struggled with a foot injury...
  7. I recall that Hans was asked by some Brits in 2004, very hush hush, if he would help the Brits to win if they gave him money? He refused.. What does that say about the Brits? never mind, let the past be past. the Danish supporters aren't angry at the Brits anymore for throwing bottles after the Danish riders in Reading, and the Hans Andersen-Chris Harris-affair is totally forgotten. peace...!
  8. can tell you, I was ashamed being Danish after the boos at AJ in Parken during the national athem..
  9. If your rider is to lose the heat, fall off the bike! - and remember fall off without being busted in cheating. If you are angry at the winners, throw bottles after them! I recall the Danes experienced that last year in Reading.
