In his Rye House days Len Silver was always the first to name his team, usually the day after the end of the AGM. Maybe he will do the same with Kent.

Not just Ryanair but Easyjet to are up to the same thing.

As I said the other day bringing back back Aaron was a no brainer, so its great to see him back. Still need an No1 IMO.
-
Personally I wouldn't have Schlein within a hundred thousand miles of our younger riders but there you go.
-
Signing Anders Rowe is a no brainer, but IMO signing Rory Schlein and his attitude that comes with at times is a different matter.

5 Wildcards for 2021
screm replied to TheReturn's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Dont mind having wildcard selections but 5 is 2 to many IMO. -
Flight out of Edinburgh booked, Hotel Pyramida booked and 2 tickets for section A2 booked. We are off the Prague again.

The scoring system we had last SGP season gave us the closest title chase in years that went virtually down to the last race, so as I say it wasn't broken so no need to fix it. Yes it has brought speedway in line with other motor sports but copying others isn't always the best thing to do. If they wanted to do something to the scoring system then award points for qualifying, five points to the quickest, three to the second quickest and a point to the third quickest.
-
The less wildcards the better for me, much better to get as many things sorted out on track rather than by committee and opinion. I`m not saying remove all wildcards but five is probably two to many. As for the scoring system as others have said if its not broke why fix it, one of the beauties about SGP is that every race counted towards you total at the end of the night now it doesn't which makes no sense at all to me.

Is Jordan Palin ready for Championship speedway?
screm replied to DC2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Clearly Scunthorpe seem to think so, Palin needs to take his career forward and moving into the Championship will do that. -
How about Aaron Summers to Newcastle for next season.
-
Not so sure Berwick would attract the like of Steve Worrall but maybe brother Ritchie would be a better bet, certainly was close to signing for Berwick in the past. As for Gappmaier maybe a Berwick return could be on the cards especially if the likes of Sheffield would be tempted to sign him for their Premiership team as I am pretty sure he would start at reserve for them and does go well round Owlerton.
-
Welcome if unsurprising start to next seasons team. Unless he retires Kevin Doolan is bound to be in the team and bringing back Aaron Summers should be a no brainer though I`d like to see someone brought in above Aaron in the averages so he can be what he is, a very decent back up to a No1.

Dont feed the troll, much better left ignored.

Hopefully this move works out for Sheffield, best news of all probably is the club is now not for sale.

Berwick, Sheffield and Kent.
screm replied to poolebolton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As much as I like and respect CVS I think he`s been at Christmas sherry a tad early this year. Sheffield always get a mention at this time of year about the possibility of moving up, maybe if a new buyer for the Tigers has come forward and has expressed a desire to move up then it might happen now for 2020 season. At least geographically there would be sense in Kent moving up but it was only at the start of this season Len Silver was complaining about his rigid Monday night only from the local council, added to that the restrictions on their curfew, it would put a doubt in most peoples minds. As for Berwick both financially and geographically it would be suicide to move the club up, as most know they have been run on a tight budget and every penny counts. Of course they might be tempted by any money going on the new tv deal but even so I doubt Berwick`s current crowds is any where near the size needed to make top flight speedway viable in the town. Yes we have moved up before and look what happened then, different promotion, different circumstances but I fear the same result. -
Not for the first time, shocking attitude from Garrity. Why any team would bother with him for 2020 is beyond me.

Cardiff 2019 Saturday September 21st
screm replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Correct, Wales had at least two Rugby World Cup warm up matches during the summer months so a SGP then was a non starter to be honest. -

Can we wait until Poole are at least accepted.
-
Not so sure where this leaves the Premiership but the Championship will be great for Poole and Poole great for the Championship.
-
If the top league stick to their fixed race nights I would be doubtful Somerset would make the jump up.
-
Hardly special, probably only going for the free food as he likes a hand out.

Seems that 6 Berwick riders will be there plus a special guest appearance.
