Bates was injured last night not ill. Decent performance from Berwick and on another day they might've come away with a point or two and going into the last race that was a real possibility. Gappmaier excellent in his first two then disappeared, Berwick need to get Aaron Summers going, seems to be struggling with his starts so hopefully he will get things sorted very soon. Decent enough meetings with two welcome home wins, for first one coming as a bit of a surprise. Berwick got themselves in front early on and once Leicester had used their tactical ride Berwick seemed to cope comfortable enough. Excellent heat twelve between Etheridge and Howarth. Douglas and Morris excellent for Leicester, Proctor might as well have stayed at home, very poor from a rider of his experience. Credit to all the riders, staff and even referee Mcgregor who got all thirty heats done and dusted inside three hours.

Agree with you regarding Etheridge, he would've been my pick, it is asking a lot of Leon to beat the Leicester top two. Just guessing but Leon has bike issues in his previous ride, maybe he was testing a bike for the National League meeting, that didn't work as he stopped at the line in heat one.
