If this meeting is to be restaged it wont be at Mildenhall. Statement from Mildenhall Speedway - After due consideration the four of us have decided against putting ourselves forward to run a restaging of the British U19 Final at Mildenhall. In such austere times as we currently find ourselves, especially in Speedway, we do not feel it is in the interest of the clubs future sustainability to take on a meeting that has already cost us financially. We feel we did a fantastic job with the U21 Semi Final and due to events outside our control were prevented from a similar success with the U19 Final. We understand this will disappoint some supporters but hope they will understand our decision that the clubs future success outweighs this one meeting. This now leaves us with a free date on Sunday 19th September, we are currently looking at the options to run a meeting that day and will advise supporters as soon as possible. Finally to remind everyone that rain off tickets from the British U19 Final on Sunday 22nd August can be used for any other Mildenhall home meeting this season. Should you not be able to return to Mildenhall this season and wish to claim a refund please email pakmft16@btinternet.com for details on how to claim your refund As always thank you for your wonderful and loyal support

Plymouth v Newcastle Tuesday 31st August
screm replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Giving the mess the sport is in I`m not so sure its the greatest idea to start signing riders when there is so much un-certainty around. What do Plymouth know that the rest don`t. -
The fact you are checking with legal advise would suggest there are things that are better left un-said.

They can only take a long hard look at themselves if they take their heads out of the sand.

Rob Grant has had a torrid time since taking over, and it shouldn't be forgotten the situation he found himself in soon after taking over, none of which was his fault. But the sad truth is if you prop up one failing business with another you invariably end up with two failing business, and I don`t think anyone would expect to put his own business at risk to keep Newcastle Speedway going. As for the future it does look very bleak right now, hopefully the BSPL will come up with the changes and league structure necessary that will make running speedway at Brough Park an attractive proposition.

CARDIFF to be or not to be?
screm replied to lbw's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Britain will get a SGP, EuroSport would be crazy to look at any other venue rather than Cardiff. -
Diamonds Co-promoter Rob Grant would like to release the following statement. "Following the completion of our remaining League fixtures, Newcastle Speedway will announce a date to complete the season with an 'End of Season Spectacular'. This will be an individual meeting with invites to rider's that have worn the Diamonds colours over the years. Unfortunately, this meeting will also mark the last match that myself and Dave Tattum will take the helm as Co-promoters. After a very hard and stressful couple of years, and after sitting down and analysing the amount of time and resources the speedway has taken away from my core businesses, I have regrettably decided I need to conclude my time with the Diamonds in order to give my main businesses the full attention they need to survive. I would like to wholeheartedly thank everyone connected to the club for their help and support, who without these people my short spell at Newcastle would have been an even harder experience. As it currently stands, I'm setting the wheels in motion to see what will come of Newcastle Speedway in 2022, but at this moment in time all I can guarantee is the 3 remaining home fixtures. The Diamonds are very much a big part of the speedway family and are the oldest running club still operating out of its original venue. Unfortunately, our crowd attendances have been well under par this season, but maybe with new management bringing new ideas and most importantly, the time this sport so vitally requires, that is something that can be increased. The work is now on to try and get Newcastle to the tapes in 2022, but although I am very sad to say, this will be without myself and Dave Tattum. Tickets are on sale for our last two league meetings against Edinburgh on the 12th September and Birmingham the week after on the 19th, both are 6.30pm starts. We all sincerely hope you can all get along to see your Diamonds in action in what we hope isn't Newcastle's last hurrah."

I can`t deny I was surprised to learn that Jacobsen had signed for Belle Vue.
-
Not sure British speedway has that kind of money,. Remember there are already tracks sitting there doing little or nothing, Buxton for one.
-
Didn't the transfer dead line close at midnight, anyway Glasgow and Redcar have made their changes.
-
Berwick eight points with three races to go, somehow draw.
-
Craig Cook makes his racing return next week.
-
Looks like Craig Cook will make his track return next week after his recent issues.

Bewley is showing a Championship average from 2018 of 6-79, don`t know if there is a newer average for him than that.

BANDITS v BULLETS @ BERWICK: SATURDAY, Aug 28th
screm replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Format worked quite well, some of the races where we had two of the Championship and two of the NL team became a bit strung but overall it worked well, and credit to Berwick for at least trying something. Impressed with the progressing Ben Rathbone has made this season. -
Probably same old same for Berwick, keep things tight until the last few heats before falling away to a defeat. Kasper Anderson should be a busy boy and should be a trump card at reserve.
-
Good luck to NB Jacobsen after signing for Belle Vue as a replacement for Ritchie Worrall.
-
If it put Glasgow into the play offs and they go on to win then his signing will be a master stroke. If not it will be another season where the Glasgow owners have thrown good money yet come up short.
-
As I understand it if a Polish rider wants to race in the Championship they must take out a GB license so they are putting GB fixtures first. In this case with Novak`s league racing is done in Poland so there shouldn't be any fixture clashes. and no problem with him signing for Glasgow. Still very short termism from Glasgow as there is precisely zero chance of the new signing being back in Tigers colours next year.
