  1. Berwicks new signing Frank Facher.
  2. Agree but it will come down to a numbers game at the end of the day.Employers for Clews wont be hard to find but he seems happy at Berwick, long may it stay that way.
  3. Sure if it was up to Clews himself then that would happen tomorrow but Im sure his parent club (Birmingham) must be looking at how well he is doing this season with an eye on next year.
  4. "A team as poor as Workington" you say. Is this the team that sits in 3rd place in the PL while the Monarchs are in 9th.
  5. If I was a Workington fan I wouldnt give a monkeys what any other fan said as my team just won the Fours. Cant we just congratulate Workington on their win.
  6. They were good enough to win the Fours and Newcastle arent as bad as they was earlier in the season and so won yesterday. What do you expect Workington to do,give up on holding the Fours, one of biggest meetings in the PL calender. Dont think so.
  7. Sorry Ellesmere Gunner but your idea is far to sensible for it ever to see the light of day. The qualifier meetings was always well supported in the north,it used to be Edinburgh,Berwick, and then Glasgow and Newcastle on the same day in some years.
  8. And you survived the trip on the Berwick supporters bus.
  9. Well done to Workington on their win, went into the meeting as favourites and took the trophy with ease winning eight of the twelve races in the Final. I agree with everyone about holding this meeting on a neutral track,if we are to hold it at Workington again or another PL track then can we please bring back the qualifiers as then the host team will have to qualify as of right and not be there just because they are host track. Either that or go for a neutral track in the EL.Peterborough have held it before as has Coventry so hopefully the powers that be will look at it,not taking anything away from Workington last night on a well deserved win. For my own team,Berwick, nobody gave us much of a chance so to get to the Final was an achievement in itself and in the Final we were always in with a shout of a rostrum place but it wasnt to be.Well done to all the riders.
  10. Thanks for the up-date,see everyone later. No Burza for Berwick, but does anyone know why,on page 12 in this weeks Speedway Star it says that Burza is ineligible because of the number of meetings he has raced for Berwick.I make it six meetings, but why therefore is Ritchie Hawkins named in the Scunthorpe team,he only signed for them just over a week ago.
  11. Can somebody please explain why Stan Burza cant ride for Berwick in the Fours, yet according to the Speedway Star Ritchie Hawkins can ride for Scunthorpe.By the time of this meeting on saturday,Burza will have done six meeting for Berwick while Hawkins probably wont have done half as many riding for Scunthorpe.
  12. Webster,Tatum and co couldnt get a flight back from Poland in time to be at Lakeside tonight,so Millard it is.
  13. And thank God for your mistakes, where would my collection of Crashes & Cock Ups dvds be without them.
  14. If they call this off now theres going to be a riot.
  15. 1st Russia 2nd Poland 3rd Aussies 4th Sweden
  16. We are only having this debate because GB came so close to getting to the final,if we had come a distant fourth as many predicted then we would have all said it was a good learning curve for the young riders.Bridgers performance was poor but hopefully next time he can learn from last night and do much better, remember Nicholls performance in the GP at this track didnt excatly set the world alight in-fact if memory serves me right he was stone dead last.
  17. This topic has been done to death,Im in total agreement with you about Olsen but the fact is if the powers that be choose to do nothing then we are left with this borefest. He has turned a meeting with a chance to see great racing into a gateing competition.
  18. Birmingham deserved to win end of story. Your problem with their fans is yours and yours alone.
  19. Agree,an idiot who cant handle their drink can ruin the night for everybody.Doesnt matter whether they are British,Polish or whatever.
  20. Think the Czestochowa meeting is off,its re-scheduled again for July 22nd.
  21. Its a shame that alcohol seems to ruin what should be a great day out and if speedway wants to pride itself as a familly sport then hopefully something will be done but I wont hold my breath.Im sure if you look back at the threads from last years Cardiff GP Id bet much the same kind of thing was posted then. People enjoying a drink is no problem but unfortunately some people dont know when enough is enough.
