  1. Hope you will be back very soon, but next time bring better weather with you.
  2. It was the Ipswich meeting indeed,as for being cynical, well having seen the magnificent efforts last night it does make you wonder if a little more effort shouldve been made for the previous meeting.I guess we will never know.
  3. You say last night proves that covers work, and your right as we got a meeting, which Im sure was very welcome for those, who like you some miles to get here, but racing was poor to say the least. So are fans happy just to get a meeting or would fans rather have a meeting called off so at least we can see some proper racing in a re-scheduled meeting. Just an open question, its not directed at the track staff last night as they worked miracles over the last couple of days, especially with the rain we`ve had.
  4. As Jon Cook pointed out in this weeks Speedway Star theres normally a high drop-out rate for these kinds of meetings,so its very likely that Ritchie Worrall will get a place in one of the semi-finals and deservedly so.
  5. Sadly Im disappointed to say that this did not happen,we did have a collection last night but it was seen fit to do it for the Fence Fund,a good cause no doubt but theres already been a buy a brick scheme, and the first meeting of this season was devoted to this cause. IMO once practice had been called off any collection shouldve gone to the Lee Richerdson Fund,I accept we can donate personally, and I accept wrist bands were on sale last night, but it was an excellent oppotunity giving the size of the crowd to donate money in one go,and I cant see a better cause than a rider who has paid the ultimate price, and a former GP rider to.
  6. So you came all this way and stayed at Marshall Meadows, and never bothered with the speedway.
  7. As an FIM meeting this was a success, the meeting was professionally run and it was pleasing given the conditions that we saw all 20 heats, must admit when I saw the referee come out onto the track after Ht12 for an inspection I thought that was the end of that, but the meeting was pushed through.Credit must also go the the track staff who worked miracles in getting this meeting on atall, the work to remove the covers and get the water off the track was greatly appreciated by all who were there. As for the racing itself,on the whole it was very poor but giving track and weather conditions it was to be expected, but to see riders unable to get the bike sideways is not racing and it was very prosessional pretty much all night.Congratulations to Chris Harris on his win,Harris,King,Sundstrum and Masters were they best riders on show. All in all a meeting ruined by the weather but I`d hope the FIM and BSPA will be impressed enough on last nights efforts to get another meeting back at Shielfield sometime soon.
  8. Wash your mouth out. Unless the promotion has got an extension, our curfew time is 9-30,so a delay would be most un-welcome. Still raining, still fairly light though. Rains pretty heavy now.
  9. If this weather keeps up thats my fear as it will turn it into a gating competition, with riders unable to move off the line infear of getting filled in,and thats no good to nobody. But as I posted the tracks been under covers for some time so the corners will be bone dry.
  10. Dont think it will be called off,the tracks been covered so I think they will run it no matter what weather comes our way,one things for sure, its going to be wet.
  11. Agree with you,as you say its not as heavy as it was and the clouds are a bit brighter,it would be a real shame if this weather turned the meeting into a fiasco, where the riders are just poodling round with no chance of racing their opponents.
  12. Light rain now,and it has been like this for the last half an hour or so.
  13. Practice was called off at the Berwick qualifier, the track has been covered overnight so it look very much like we will get a meeting on tonight.
  14. IMO if they are going to start the meeting, which I think they will, then it should be with the intention of getting to Ht20,rather than lets run 12hts asap and call a meeting. I hope also that now the practice has gone, the collection for Lee Richardson will still go ahead with buckets just inside the turnstiles.
  15. Been alot brighter over the last couple of hours, still cloudy though but no rain, that rain is forecast for this afternoon.
  16. Agree with you,I think running practice would be a mistake, also it would be a job and a half taking off the covers only to have to put them back afterwards. As you say best keep them on. Brighter than earlier, dont think its actually drizzling right now,but its forecast for rain for this afternoon.
  17. Re-staging for this meeting will be tomorrow, hopefully the Berwick Council will have given the go ahead. To be honest it looks like Berwick will do everything they can to get this meeting on tonight. The corners have been under cover with the straights left bare, whether practice goes ahead as planned at 11-30 this morning might be doubtful,as it has drizzled most of the night. Right now its dull, misty and damp, there is very light drizzle falling. Absolutely, though some of us can panic the sheepies more than others.
  18. No doubt about that, the promotion are doing all they can to get this meeting on,I hope their hard work will be rewarded. Welcome to Berwick. Sadly the forecast for tomorrow is none to clever, the rain we have had all day today will continue through the night.Tomorrow morning will be dull with rain, heavy at times, tomorrow afternoon will be dull with the rain not quite as heavy. The track has been covered which might just save the day,but it would be a gamble to start a meeting where theres no guarantee that it would finish, especially when your asking fans to pay extra.
  19. Giving the current system we are enjoying, thats as good an idea as any.
  20. How can it be right where theres an unbalance, every PL team deserves the right to have a go a qualifying for the 4s,had Ipswich or any other team for that matter gone through the qualifying meetings and not scored sufficient points then theres no arguement, alls fair, but not with this system.
  21. While the BSPA continue with this barmy way of selecting the PL Fours field there will always be clubs that are done to and by the looks of things its Ipswich this year. The Fours is always a great day out,IMO all the teams should be giving a fair chance of getting. Happened to Berwick after their 4s win at Coventry.
  22. I sympathize with Ipswich,as Champions they surely deserve the chance to defend that title.Berwick suffered the same thing a few seasons ago, they won the 4TT at Coventry but werent allowed the chance to defend that title. Easy answer of course, qualifiers,I mean just how hard can it be.
  23. The forecast for Berwick is decent, mostly cloudy all week but there is no significant rain fall forecast.Dont see anything weatherwise that will affect this saturdays meeting.
  24. Fantastic meeting, with Leszno snatching a draw when they looked like they would be beaten, great ride from Balinski in Ht14,though after his interview he may not be getting an invitation to Darcy Wards Christmas party.
