It is,over the last couple of home meetings and hopefully next week against Newcastle, less certainly does mean more. -

Apart from a few 2nd halves and our GP Qualifier,Albin has no experience overseas, infact he has very little experience in racing speedway full-stop. -

Maybe not significantly bigger certainly a healthy crowd, the seats that are on the pits side of the tunnell are never that well populated most meetings, but last night there was quite a few fans there, infact the main grandstand was well populated throughout. Look to me that the lower priced certainly brought a few extra out, hopefully that will happen for Glasgow in their low price meeting today. -

Prices for next weeks meeting with Newcastle will be held to where they were last night, hopefully the promotion will be rewarded to another decent crowd. -

Announced at Berwick last night that this meeting could be re-arranged for one of the next two or three fridays,no official announement but the two clubs were looking at that. -

Maybe he has the hangover of all hangovers, celebrating his sides win,I sure he will be along soon to lavish praise on the riders, management and imparticular the promotion at Ipswich. -

Grieves`s ride in Ht13 was very clever,he covered every move made by Alden,he was an excellent choice of guest, sadly the same cat be said for Kus.He did have a decent record for Shielfield, and was a big scorer on his previous visit while racing for Redcar, but last night he was very disappointing. -
Theres been very little chance of Berwick making the play-offs for quite sometime now, even at the start of the season there were no guarantees.

I agree with you, though it is good that we should have another asset coming to the club, whether this is the right time to take a gamble on Albin though is another matter. If he should start next season on a 5pt average, and at reserve will help as he will struggle to attain anything like a 5pt average, certainly to begin with anyway. -

Not sure why or if he would come in on a 5pt average, but Albin is a certain starter for next year. -

Fair play to the Monarchs on their win, fewer race winners than the home side but only three zeros meant that they were always well in control and thoroughly deserved their win. They stay well on track for a play-off place, and if they can get their number one back then who knows. Edinburgh took control as early as HT1 and were never headed after that, even if Berwick hit back with their own 5-1 in Ht2.Grieves was an excellent guest, unlike Kus,and the Monarchs no1 was involved in one of the best races in weeks with Seb Alden in Ht13.He was well backed up by the rest of his teamates. To many riders had off nights for Berwick, infact they were pretty much a one man team, that man was Seb Alden, after a duff first ride he was excellent after that,to be fait Dyer was always in there battling but Bellego and Aspegren had poor night,as did Matej Kus who was a hopeless guest.Bit of a fiest tonight, while filling in my programme I never thought Id have to write 3pts next to the name of Jacobsen, but I did tonight, unfortunately that was as good as it got as he was poor for the rest of the night. One bright spot was there was a healthy crowd there tonight, but I know there are plenty who cant wait for this season to end. There isnt an edit in the world of edits that save this post. -
Comets Vs Leicester Sat 1st Sept 7pm

It going to be a nightmare for Workington to sort their fixtures out, last night off against Berwick, then today Leicester, both saturday night tracks, and its not long before the play-off cut off date. -
While theres no doubt that Lee Complin is one of the most exciting riders ever to race round Shielfield, there shouldnt be an automatic team place at Berwick for him or any other rider.

Not so sure you can use a guest to replace an assessed averaged rider. James Grieves & Filip Sitera guests for Edinburgh. -

As Bellego has ridden all season for Berwick it would be weird indeed should the BSPA not to decide that he wont become a Berwick asset. But this is the BSPA,and as we all know anythings possible with that lot,so expect Bellego become an asset of somewhere else. Bit of rain yesterday evening, but its been dry overnight, and its dry now,bit cloudy but there is brightness in the sky.Forecast for today is good, dry if a bit cloudy. -

Good point, didnt he do one meeting at Scunthorpe, and his average changed. A little bit of knowledge........ -
My opinion is the same for all teams, not just Berwick, the guest rulings for riders to race elsewhere is a joke, just one of the many reasons why speedway id dying on its behind Im afraid. Your right about the Franc situation, though the Berwick promotion mustve been aware of the amount of meetings he would miss and still signed him.

So Barrett gets an average for next year but does not become an average. -
AT SHEFFIELD: On Thursday, they visit Sheffield Tigers, the team who snatched an astonishing one-point victory at Shielfield back in June. “This is a return match we’ve been looking forward to for a while,” said Bandits’ team manager Ian Rae. “We still don’t understand how the Tigers put that one over us, and fully intend to take revenge!” Berwick will have Leicester’s tiny Dane Lasse Bjerre as a guest rider (he recently posted a fifteen-point maximum score at the Yorkshire circuit) on Thursday, although with Seb Alden back in Sweden to contest the play-off finals with his Swedish club, the border side will deploy rider-replacement on Thursday, with Alden’s team-mates each taking one of his four programmed races in his place. Above is what on our official site.

See that, though Id still like Alden at Sheffield. Dont worry I expect no support whatsoever,my opinion is Im not bothered where our riders ride,Poland,Sweden,Czech, they can do as many UEM,Longtrack,Grasstrack meetings as they like, all I ask is that they are present for all Berwicks meeting.Josef Franc wasnt signed because of this very reason and I congratulated the promotion for it.This season we`ve had Edberg,Bellego and Alden all miss meetings, and that does Berwick no good.Im told that this is the modern way in speedway these days, but theres times where change is always for the better. Would I have Alden back next year, yes of course I would, but that wont change my opinion on riders, not just Alden, missing meeting.

It was a point I made a few days ago,if the rules remains that its 6 home six away for a rider to become an asset then Barrett will not be a Berwick asset come the end of the season as he would be one home meeting short.Whether is would get a true average,or still be saddled with a 7pts assessed on I would know, though giving that Edberg rode in the last few meetings that saw him on a true average Id guess Barrett will start next yrar on a 7. Dont see the point in re-declaring the team at this late stage,as long as we dont get more injuries of course. -
Lasse Bjerre guests for Ashworth,as you say sadly our team captain has better things to do in Sweden, hopefully this will be taken into consideration when next years yeam is put together,as it will for other riders.
