  1. Complin is certainly one of the most thrilling riders ever to race round Shielfield, but I hope he isnt in next years team. His home scoring isnt up for debate, but its away from home where the problem is,and has been over the last season or two. Hopefully we will get Ashworth back, along with Alden,if Barrett has a proper average Ive seen enough of him to think he can do a job next year, especially if he starts at reserve along with Bellego.
  2. There cant be anyone left that takes our press releases seriously, surely.
  3. By beating Ipswich tonight the Scotwaste Monarchs ensured that they remain favourites to grab the sixth Playoff position in the Premier League, though the Witches would be happy enough to take a point in what was rather a contentious affair. Some blatant gamesmanship marred the latter stages of the match, with both Matt Tresarrieu and Rohan Tungate causing stoppages by failing to clear the track when their team was on the wrong end of 1-5 situations, and as ever Speedway’s regrettably feeble rulebook allowed the referee no sanction other than to issue fines. The requirement for all four riders to have completed two laps (including the faller, at the back, on the fourth corner of lap two, excluded from the rerun) is simply ridiculous and a more intelligent rule is urgently required. The current situation has been called a “cheats’ charter” and that was how it looked tonight. Taken from the Monarchs site, sounds interesting happenings at Armadale last night.
  4. Nicki Pedersen Antonio Lindback Chris Holder Greg Hancock
  5. Can we take it you will be putting yourself forward to do the Berwick meeting tomorrow night.
  6. Easier to get to maybe, but if speedway GP struggles to half fill the stadium they use now,it will be the same for the Olympic Stadium.
  7. Thet can announce updates from Workington,Rye House,Leicester,Stoke,or anywherelse for that matter, but please think of those who are forgoing the GP to support speedway at Berwick.....it really isnt to much to ask is it.
  8. Do what I do,record the GP and get along to Shielfield, must admit the GPs are getting more appealing, then of course you run the risk of our centre green presenter dropping the odd hint as to how the GP is going.
  9. Thought Newcastle might have done a bit better at Sheffield last night,I mean just about everybody wins there these days. Bit of a must win meeting for play-off chasing Newcastle, they are well capable of winning of course, but Im hoping that the Berwick team will want to show they are not as bad as they were at Redcar, and of course we have Alden and Apegren back in the team.
  10. Embarrassing performance from Berwick, looking at the PL table think god for Plymouth.
  11. But our recent meetings have been gate and go,whether thats by luck or design. Thank the Lord Im not alone.
  12. Yes your right, but its a more general point, not just Berwick, this kind of thind affects teams over here more and more,Im told its the modern way, just the modern though, not necessarily the right way.
  13. Be careful for what you wish for. It is,but in this case its not of Berwicks making, you sign riders that have European committments its likely this kind of thing will happen at some stage. To be fair though our team for Redcar is as strong and maybe stronger than it wouldve been had our normal 1-7 been there.
  14. Not sure how many times you`ve been in recent weeks but Shielfield has been very much gate and go,with the very odd decent race, shame as when its prepared to allow passing it can give us fans fantastic entertaining meetings. Newcastle scored 39pts in the Tyne/Tweed Trophy, and 43pts in the LC,so there has been improvement.IMO though out visitors this saturday will have to improve further if they are to win, they are capable of that though,as their away wins this season have proved. As has been said much will depend on choice of guest,I hope they wont go with r/r at no1,and Im sure we will find out in an hour or two who our guest is. Dont think it will be Matej Kus.
  15. Id put Adam Roynon down as the best rider, right up to his injury the other night, cant come up with a worse rider than Sitera,IMO he shouldve been doing far better than he has.
  16. Giving the amount of review posts on this meeting, can we take it that it wasnt excatly a classic.
  17. Covatti at least has some racing experience in Italy, that at least is some kind of gage as to his capabilities,Albin is a gamble, and a big one IMO.I hope it comes off for Berwick, but it might be an alternative that instead of investing in Albin they consider buying Dyer from Dudley,he at least has racing experience over here.
  18. Berwick were poor, but I think your being a bit harsh on Edinburgh. They have every chance of making a play-off place and fully deserved their win.As you say apart from Alden and to a lesser extent Dyer, the rest had poor nights and a two man team doesnt win meetings.
  19. A KOC match at Berwick earlier in the season springs to mind.
  20. Maybe, just maybe Mr Louis does indeed know what he`s doing.
  21. Fair enough, compared to other PL clubs they are about average,it bound to be difficult to set a price low enough to attract people through the gate, but not low enough where the promotion are losing money hand over fist. Also from reading last nights programme it looks as though we may be looking for a new team sponsor for next season.
  22. They are, dont think there is to much wrong in the admission prices as they were,£14-50 seems pretty fair to me,though theres no doubt people are taking advantage of the drop in prices.
