Not sure why you have to highlight my name in bold, havent posted on this thread for days, but now my cage has been rattled here goes. Im in full agreement with Fromafar,it would be very difficult for any single supporter to bring to the club a new main sponsor, but I guess if you dont ask you dont get.Our owners both have businesses of their own,in different fields of course, and Im sure they will have put alot of effort into getting a sponsor through their own contacts, maybe thats the issue that they have to turn to their own supporters.Whatever,I hope a new sponsor can be found in the next week or two and we can take out place in next years PL.

No doubt about it.
-
Nor should it,like I posted earlier well done to everyone at Scunthorpe Speedway.
-
You are completely correct,as others have said all the teams knew the rules in March, but Im of the old school, the team with the most points should be declared as PL Champions,if the BSPA then want to tag on some kind of trophy to keep any interest going then fair enough. Change is always for the better.

No you didnt, you won the play-offs,Newcastle won the PL.

Injuries played their part in Berwicks poor PL position,no doubt that but its utter rubbish to say they were the only reason,Im afraid the table doesnt lie,Berwick finished where they deserved to finish,as did every other club.Take Newcastle they were hit by injuries, losing their biggest scorer at the start of the season, yet finished top of the league. Kozza Smith was lost before a wheel had been turned,Ashworth replaced him and IMO we were stronger for it,no dis-respect to Smith.Hertrich left the club as did Sitera, their replacements were Tomicek and King, and Im afraid they just were not up to it,Tomicek was fine as a reserve but struggled when at no2,while King struggled virtually every meeting. Also our away form wasnt good enough, the inability to claim points away from Shielfield meant that we needed to get more full point victories at home, and we didnt. For all that there were bright spots,Robin Aspegren for one,I hope Berwick will do all they can to get him for next season,no doubt there will be competition for his signature but Im sure he was happy with so thats at least a start.Nicki Barrett is another who came in and did reasonably well, especially at reserve, add those two to Ashworth and Alden and you have a good start to next years team. -

Dont knock it,a trophy is a trophy at the end of the day and Rye House might not see another for a while.I thought Berwick were a few points shy from the first leg on saturday of winning the Cup up take nothing away from the Rye House team, they deserve their win. -

Untill Jensen has mastered Shielfield then he can never be described as World Class. -

Just shows how important Berwick is to the BSPA. Berwick have every intention in running next year, and will give that intent in the next BSPA meeting. They need a main team sponsor, once thats sorted is a go for next year. -

Bit to much gate and go for my liking but with the wet weather around recently maybe the track was prepared that,I was hoping for way more than a 13pt lead from last night but fair play to Rye House who got things going after a shaky start in the first few heats.Whether 13pts will be enough I wouldnt know, maybe had Craig Cook not pulled out after a couple of rides our lead wouldve been bigger but any lead is better than non atall. Took a new perspective on the racing last night, and you do get a different view of the racing from different parts of Shielfield. Delighted to hear that we will again be hosting an FIM meeting next season, and Im hoping that that is positive news that we will be running next year.No disrespect to the Ben Fund meeting,or the GP Qualifier but next Augusts meeting will be the biggest meeting held at Berwick for years, maybe even ever. More interesting happenings off track than on last night. -
Talking of going missing, what happened your mate Micheal the other night.
-
To be fair this is probably one fixture that both clubs wouldve preferred not to be bothering with, there really isnt much riding on it for either side.So for once Im quite happy we are giving Liam Carr a go,whether he scores or not isnt the question,my guess is he probably wont, but he`s had a few months racing at NL level, lets see if he has improved.

Weather forecast is okish for tomorrow, theres going to be rain or wintery showers in the first half of tonight, second half will be dry but very cold.Saturday will start bright but frosty, good news is that saturday daytime will be bright, dry but cold, there is rain forecast for tomorrow night but by the time it arrives the meeting should be either over or nearly over. -

Poor Roynons career has been blighted by injury, this season however he has shown just how good a rider he is with big scores for Dudley,Workington and Coventry, hopefully he will be fit for the start of next season. -
Apart from one particular poster I think this thread has done just that, theres been many posts with ideas about how to generate more interest in Berwick Speedway.
-
Im sure it will be online later but theres just been a feature on the Newcastle Diamonds mascot, didnt catch his name but it was part of a series that Look North is running at the minute, excellent coverage. I think Im right in saying the young lad is a product of the training schools run by Tsunami,if so then all credit to him. I dont have the knowhow but maybe someone out there could put a link on tomorrow so everyone can enjoy the feature.

This thread is started for all of us to air our views on how to generate interest and bring back the missing fans to Berwick Speedway.Ive only put up two posts, both well meant, both with ideas og helping out, both replied to by the same person in a negative fashion. Its easy to be negative but I think the rest of us can rise above all that.

A season tickets is never really something that Ive bothered with previously, but its something Id consider,I know theres information and a form to download on the official site but maybe an application form could be put in the programme for those who dont have internet access.

A fresh attitude towards the sport cant come from the fans alone,it needs to start with the law makers that govern the sport to,they make it look a laughing stock at times.

Craig Cook is a decent choice of guest, his early performances while with Workington were usually not up to much, but he`s turned all that round over the last season or two and is now a big scorer round Shiefield.Hopefully that will continue on saturday as Berwick need every point going for the second leg, where our record round Rye House is nothing to write home about. I think Berwick will win this meeting, and hopefully by enough to hang on in the second leg.
