Your right but then again you will probably hear the same from virtually every other promoter pre-season.Though Silver isnt normally to far away.
-
Untill all the other teams are filled its difficult to say just how good this Rye House team is,Allen at one will be a decent scorer and Im sure theres improvement is most of the others.I listened to Silver on the radio last week and he was very positive about next years Rye House team.
-
Your right but surely if Glasgow were so sure about Bellego they wouldve included him in last years team.

North And South Premier League
screm replied to Eric Parsons's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Crowds are dwindling with 15 heats, are you really suggesting people should pay the same money for 13 heats. -
Best information Ive got is this,Bellego rode for Glasgow in five home PL meeting, against Newport x2,Sheffield,Somerset,Scunthorpe,he rode in 3 away meetings in the PL,at Newport,Somerset and Scunthorpe,he rode in 4 KOC meeting home and away against Newport and then Newcastle. All in all thats 7 home meetings and 5 away meetings,if the asset rule was 6 home and 6 away then clearly he did not do enough away meetings, though whether that rule was still around is up for debate. Whatever the rights and wrongs the BSPA have ruled, and Bellego is a Berwick rider, time to move on.
-
If it came down to a choice of Campton over Bellego, even as far as costs go,then Glasgow did indeed drop a clanger,as you say had Glasgow declared Bellego in their 1-7 last season there would never have been this debate. Course you could always loan him from Berwick for 2013.
-
Yes it appears I was wrong, and Bigeddiechek has a brick with his name on it.
-
As far as I know its PL or nothing,as their statement of intending to run in the PL at the recent AGM indicates,as Ive posted Im sure we will run next year.
-
As I posted if Bellegos done enough meetings for Glasgow then he`s a Glasgow asset,I cant see why theres such a delay. As you say the BSPA did indeed say they would make a firm decision at their piss up err sorry AGM last weekend, but I guess their still making up their minds......Im sure it wont be much longer.
-
Did Bellego ever do enough offical meetings for Glasgow in the 2011 season,if he did then he should be a Glasgow asset, but now that Glasgow Speedway has changed hands I wonder if Bellego was part of the club that the new owners bought a few weeks ago. If Bellego did not do enough meetings to become an asset then he will be a Berwick asset, and he has certainly done enough meetings to qualify as such.

Just everthing else then. I get the point of the tactical ride, and seen it work both for and against Berwick, but still dont like it and its a rule Id have thought had run its course by now.Yes that particular race can be exciting especially if the tactical riders is beaten, bit IMO it distorts the final score to much.
-
So we mightve found a true Champion team, jobs a goodun. Tactical rides seems unfair to me,but Id guess Im in the minority,I also think they are here to stay.

No bother anytime. -
Agree with you on the double tactical ride,it makes a mockery of the sport, and favours top heavy teams.Id do away with tactical rides and tactical substitutes, staying only with reserve replacements.I also go back to bringing in the bonus point,no change in the current scoring system, but just with the bonus point added. Speedway needs rebranded, and modernized, its an extreme sport so market as such. Now that the annual conference is out of the way, you`d think the BSPA would want to know fairly swiftly what Berwicks plans are.Im guessing the promotion have given some sort of positive noises at the AGM,and Im hoping we will hear something positive very soon.Im still confident we will run.

Ostergaard,Doolan,Eklof,Bellego. 56-1 -
Might take a day or two before we see the details, but from the BSPA statement Id have like to have seen changes.Theres no mention of the end of season competition for the teams not good enough to be in a play-off place, which is one positive at least.
-
I find those who constantly go on about the track a tad sad. Unless the devil is in the detail its looks the BSPA have taken 3 days to change nothing.
-
Referees,Scunthorpe were first with Berwick & Somerset joint second.
-
Dont be so sure,Ive spoken to one or two fellow Berwick fans and they as mystified as me why the Berwick page didnt appear in this weeks Speedway Star, can we take it that every other club are lacking integrity and prudency. We are being told on here that the promotion like to engage with supporters,I think this was a chance missed to get their views over to a wider public. Are you crazy, you`ll be hit with the can you do any better stick that I was a few days ago. Fully agree with you by the way.
-
Oppotunity missed I feel,Berwick have won praise from supporters from other clubs as a forward thinking promotion, what a chance they had to put those views over, and anyway it wouldve been nice to see their ideas for a way foward.Every other promotion bothered so why not Berwick.
-
Disappointed that the Berwick Promotion felt it wasnt prudent to put their answers to the questions every other promotion have given in this weeks Speedway Star Survival Special,it wouldve been very interesting to see their ideas on the way forward. They have won much praise from other clubs supporters about how forward thinking they are Im sure their views wouldve been welcomed.
-
No news yet so Im guessing the search goes on,Im still positive that we will be in the PL come March next season. Mind you,no Berwick means more trips to Brough Park, and Im loaded with whisky just now. Did you ever have a go at that bottle.
-
Campton looked decent early on,I saw him ride in Berwicks 1st meeting of the season, and again for Glasgow at Berwick in the PT meeting, and he looked like he had something about him.But by the end of the season he looked a shadow of that rider and looked quire un-interested if Im honest. Could be a decent signing on a fairly low average though.
-
Berwick have already given intention to run next season at the last BSPA meeting, that is dependent on finding a main team sponsor.
-
Absolutely, and Im sure the promotion will take on board what we have been debating on this thread, some suggestions may be introduced some wont. As Fromafar says though, its the racing,at the end of the day we go to watch.
