No Gps On Sky Television Next Year?
screm replied to The White Knight's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The threads about Pearson & Tatum have been done to death IMO,they are clearly the commentaters that Sky want and if theres GP speedway on Sky this season they will be the commentary team, which is just fine by me. -

As others have said theres no definite decision been made yet so lets hope Sky decide to show the GPs in 2013,must admit though if Sky were going to televise the GPs you`d think they would have announced it by now. -
Barrett has posted on Facebook that he has to take rest for 2 weeks but should be ready for the start of the season.

League Sponsorship - How Much?
screm replied to StormMarketing's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
If theres no GPs on Sky next season and the Sky deal isnt renewed Id get used to it. -
Bingo,at last we have one Leicester fan who`s sees the point of the meeting.Well done to the Leicester promotion for putting on a meeting with something different for the home fans.
-
Says Skytext page 449,it reports thats Barrett has compressed a vertebrae in a freak accident while on a skiing holiday and has been ordered to take 8 weeks rest, leaving things touch and go for the meeting with Edinburgh. So if your looking for your doom and gloom merchant give Sky a call.
-
After a skiing accident it might be a bit of a struggle for Nicki Barrett to be ready to go for the start of the season.
-
Agree with you,how dare the Leicester promotion try and bring money into the club. Flagrag makes a good point that it might be an idea if Leicester bring in an EL No1 as a guest, though that means that one of the homes riders will miss out on much needed laps in the early part of the season.Tell you what un-happy Leicester fans Berwick have Edinburgh as their first meeting of the season, fancy swapping.
-
Are you serious, the chance to see Nicholls,Kasprazak etc round Leicester is sure to bring out a big crowd,so well done to the Leicester promotion for doing so. Better to give an EL team a challenge than to give a PL team free practice.
-
Very true, and if memory serves they have sponsored the Bordernaplis meeting in the last couple of season or so. Excellent news on the team sponsor,I hope it will be the start of a long tern relationship.
-
The club announced that when Alden decided that he wasnt coming that put an end to Albin, though I must say that if your keen enough on a rider then you should sign that rider.I hope Albin is a success at Sheffield but it might be a case of one step back before two foward.
-
I dont agree, anyway which one of the current Berwick team would you drop.Albin is very much untried and will see most PL tracks for the first, that IMO is to much of a gamble to take at this time for Berwick. Wish the lad the best of luck at Sheffield though.
-
Can we take it everyone is now happy that Wells has signed.
-
If the Berwick Promotion are going for a "gimme me the money" in their negotiations, then I fear they may end up empty handed.Any prospective sponsor will want to know what return they get for their sponsorship, exposure, publicity, etc, not to mention a return in terms of sales. To that end it would be interesting to know if any of our previous sponsors gained from their investment.
-
But where the clowns, send in the clowns Dont bother they`re hear
-
Yes,certainly better news,it was posted on here a few weeks ago from one of the Berwick fans that looking for a small group of sponsors might make an alternative. Its also reported that we are still in talks with a couple of companies who might be a main sponsor.
-
You shouldve tried some of the Ipswich threads from last season.
-
Then you dont think there`ll be a sponsor then,Id imagine that would be the 1st question the riders wouldve asked before signing their contracts, not to mention the BSPA when handing out firstly the Ben Fund meeting then the Under-21 meeting later in the season. And nobodys moaning as far as I can see.
-
Of course Sheffield might just beat them, good way to start the season.
-
Nothing can be guaranteed for 2013,add in injuries and other teams strengthening up and its virtually impossible to say the title is Redcars, even if they do indeed have a decent team.Look at last years Champs Scunthorpe, they made a couple of changes and ended up taking the title.
-
Theres no doubt that that it would be virtually impossible to run speedway these days in the PL without a team sponsor, but I dont think it will come to that.
-
Oh boy are you in trouble, the righteous crew will be along presently to show you the errors of your ways. Your right though. Ive no doubt that the appeals to fans to fans towards the end of last season to help finding sponsorship were genuine enough, and it may be true they are still talking to sponsors and before any contracts are signed there will be no announcement, but are the promotions actions that of a club with any doubt about running. And as has previously said,Berwick have ran before without a sponsor, though in this day and age its far more advantages to have one than not.
