  1. Wonder if those who emailed Sky to vent their ire will contact Eurosport with all their glad tidings. Obviously its great news that Speedway GP will be shown live in this country and having a highlights programme must be a bonus, even if its a small one.
  2. Now that Mr Pope has been elected perhaps we can now get on with the important news of where the Gp coverage will appear.
  3. Time gentleman please,it was mentioned that no announcement would be made untill the ink was dry on the respective contracts.Good grief they must have the slowest drying ink in history.
  4. Must admit Im not that fussed how they go about presenting the riders parade, nor the inbetween race comments.Ive always stated that I wasnt Dick Barries biggest fan,nor they way he went about his presentation, but he had his fans and if last saturday was his last then he will be missed by some. If by way of a modern approach to presentation they are going to play newer music, and have a more youthful approach, then thats fine by me,the only way to find out if something new works is by giving it a go,time will tell. Much more important IMO is track prep, thorny subject to some I know, but surely its good quality racing will keep people coming back.
  5. Maybe, but cant you say the same about a number of riders,Roynon & Edberg for example.
  6. Giving his performance on saturday night, you wonder if there isnt a promoter somewhere taking a very keen interest in Claus Vissing for a possible future signing.
  7. Not much of a fan of Dick Barrie but theres no denying his knowledge of speedway, and he is good at what he does.Thing is maybe what he does has had its day and its time for a new, fresher, modern approah to speedway meeting presentation.Only time will tell.
  8. The British broadcasting channel for the Speedway Grand Prix stages in 2013 will be announced this Tuesday, #SpeedwayFamily The channell that is covering the GPs this year will be announced on tuesday.
  9. Well done to Mads Korneliussen on his win, thoroughly deserved as he was the best rider on the night, felt a bit sorry for Claus Vissing who looked all out the winner untill the last corner and a Korneliussen pass.Ben Barker was good early on,as was Ritchie Warrall who looks like he will be a big scorer for Newcastle this season. All in all in decent meeting on a cold cold night, infront of a good crowd which hopefully raised a tidy sum for Ben Fund which was the most important thing. There was a couple of meeting auctions for Hans Andersons and Ricky Ashworths race jackets which raised money and there was a collection on the Glasgow supporters bus on the way down to Berwick which raised over £200. It was bloody cold though.
  10. How very sad. Seb Alden did a decent job in his time with us,scoring some good points and was part of the team that won last years 4TT.Infact wasnt it his ride that clinched the trophy. So Alden isnt with Berwick this year, big deal,I for one wish him all the best at Kings Lynn.
  11. No rain since late morning, still cloudy but dry at present.Cold though so everyone had better rap up warm.
  12. Still cloudy but not raining as per forecast,we shouldnt get anymore significant rain now so heres hoping we get a good meeting tonight.
  13. We`ve had a constant light drizzle throughout the night in Berwick, and that remains the case right now.The forecast for later is better with it brightening up around lunchtime, lets hope thats the case. Its going to be cold with tempratures no more than 3 or 4 degrees.
  14. Oh dont worry Ive got loads lined up,quicker that tv contract is signed the better.
  15. Must admit its disappointing to read that some riders gave to intention to ride in this meeting and have now said no or chose to race in other meetings. But IMO its their loss,we`ve a meeting at Berwick tomorrow that we may not see again up here for a while,so I hope theres a good crowd to support those riders who will the Ben Fund, even the riders who chose not to be at Berwick tomorrow night.
  16. This time last week spring had sprung, now it feels we are heading back to winter.Cold drizzle for most of the day blowing off the North Sea by an easterly wind.Happily tomorrows forecast is better, this drizzle we have will last off and on for most of the night and into daylight hours,as the day goes on things will improve, though it will be cold.
  17. The drizzly rain came to Berwick overnight and it lasted into the daytime hours.Hasnt rained for a while now but it is very dull and overcast.Temprature isnt crash hot either.
  18. With the football being at home that afternoon Im not sure they will be for this meeting, though on the positive side I havent heard that they arent. Weathers been good in Berwick for the last few days, infact we`ve had good weather for a while now, with not much rain to speak of.Hopefully it will stay that way.
  19. Congratulations to all at Newcastle Speedway.
