Berwick 1 Seb Alden 2 David Bellego 3 Kozza Smith 4 Mathew Wethers 5 Robin Aspegren 6 Alex Edberg 7 Nicki Barrett Redcar 1 Ulrich Ostergaard 2 Hugh Skidmore 3 Aaron Summers 4 Carl Wilkinson 5 Matej Kus 6 Mitchel Davey 7 Micky Dyer KOC at Sheilfield this with Redcar in town, the away team had better hope their performances improve for this one as so far this season they have taken three beatens.Micky Dyer could be in for a busy night should Wilkinson & Kus continue their poor performances. Comfortable home win for me.

Arent those two riders much of a muchness though,Hart seems to have disappeared from the scene.

Wasnt at the meeting so no I didnt read it.

Ive know doubt that Alden was signed as a full time asset as at that time the club and the rider thought that they had a long term relationship in place. That changed by the looks of things for a variety of reasons. Would Berwick get a loan fee from Kings Lynn, with Kozza Smith coming the other way maybe there was a swap agreement for the season.
-
You could say that about a multitude of riders though.
-
To be honest I thought that Davey had retired,if he is in as a injury replacement and is only in the team till Dilger gets fit then I suppose its an adequate signing. If he is signed full time then Redcar are going to struggle even more than they have already, already this season Kus and Wilkinson arent excatly burning up the tracks, the last thing they need is to carry another rider.

Fair enough, maybe then the author of the report on the Berwick site couldve been more careful with the termonology they used as it clearly says "name circulated for transfer".I feel its an important issue as some rely on this service so they can have an opinion on certain matters. Oh yes bought on a full transfer from Swindon.

Berwick Manager Ian Rae announced on Wednesday (28th November), “Seb has been in discussions with us and for family and personal reasons feels he cannot commit to Premier League racing in 2013. This has meant him often being away from Friday to Monday each week and with more and more Premier tracks racing weekends it has not helped. With this in mind he has expressed a desire to race full time Elite League and Berwick have today circulated his name for Transfer to all Elite clubs and one track is already in talks with him.” Taking from the Berwick site Wednesday November 28th.

As you know Im normally the epitome of positivity, but a week or three ago you posed the question "Seb who",we will find out come this saturday wont we. As for racing for his parent club,I thought that Alden had been transfered to Kings Lynn as a full-time star.

I think its time this Rough Park arguement was put to bed now,Newcastle season in season out always seem to put together a decent team,a team normally towards the top end of the PL and sometimes right at the very top.To do that they need good riders, and you`d think that those good riders wouldnt want to race on a rough track every week but they seem to come back each season. -
Cresent Girls mate makes a guest appearance this coming saturday. At least we will find out who "Seb who" is.
-
Does seem puzzling to say the least, yes Barrett wouldve been having muliple rides but surely theres times when needs must and I think yesterday was one of those times.Berwick needed a rider in Ht12 with the potential of scoring points and maybe even winning the race,Barrett has to have been a better option than Edberg whose performance up till then had been woeful. Still you live and learn.

Not sure if theres a rule that stops riders riding after a concussion.
-
Concussion.

A point won away from home is never a bad thing, and gaining points away from home is not something Berwick`s been very good at.Time will tell of course if it`s a good point,we will see how other teams fair at Glasgow in the next few weeks.

Tonights meeting in cancelled due to the snow and possible freezing conditions this evening. sorry folks! :-( Taking from Twitter. -
Berwick Bandits centre-green presenter Dick Barrie is to hang up his microphone after 40 years. The veteran self-confessed ‘motormouth’ plans to gradually ease his way out of his role at Shielfield, although he still plans to follow his beloved Bandits on their exploits around the country. “The main difference will be that I don’t have to commit myself to every Saturday night if I don’t want to,” he said. “I will still come and support the guys and it will be nice to be on the other side of the fence, so to speak.” Barrie, often controversial, has a wealth of speedway knowledge, having been in the business for over 40 years, but he says the time is now right to step away, and he will gradually be easing himself out over the next few weeks, helping pave the way for his successor, local DJ Steve Hayward. “While I will always enjoy being part of our ‘presentation team’, the relentless weekly same-old, same-old grind at the end of a 240-mile round-trip was getting harder and harder and I’m really happy to know Steve will largely be able to take over the infield role,” he said. “I have been asked to help and guide him into certain aspects of the job over the next few weeks.” Never been Dick Barries biggest fan but he will be a miss on a saturday night at Berwick. Sorry about the size of the writing but you get the jist.

Not so sure that it could happen every time, but this is certainly a great gesture from the Glasgow promotion.Maybe, where theres a meeting back to back as in this case,a voucher could be handed over at at the first meeting that would get reduced admission in the return meeting,Edinburgh friday Berwick saturday,Berwick saturday Newcastle sunday etc.

If Bunyans missing for up to half the seasons thats far to long to run as a six man team IMO,much better to run as a seven man team where ever possible. We`ve seen other teams go with r/r for wees and it very rarely works.
