Saturday is forecast to be a day of sunshine and showers, with a longer spell of rain around lunchtime, drying up in the afternoon. -
Is It Time For Redcar To Dispense Of Matej Kus.
screm replied to mikebaker's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The time to dispense with Kus was probably long ago,hes been pretty abject for most of the season. Still see a few teams looking at him for next season, though probably not Redcar. -
Berwick only have 2 home meetings and 3 away left this season.

Berwick V Somerset (saturday 17th August)
screm replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Seb Alden couldnt have picked a tougher match to resume his Berwick career as I think the pacy Shiefield track will suit Somerset, especially the Aussie contingent.Against Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago Berwick put in an excellent performance with a come from behind win and IMO they will need something similar this saturday, sadly I think they will come up just short. Berwick 44 Somerset 48. -
Berwick V Somerset (saturday 17th August)

The question was posed by the author of this thread a while ago "Seb who",I guess we will find out Saturday. -
Sorry my fault must've been watching a different Alden.
-
"Went through the motions",really. While its true to say Alden did have one or two iffy meetings last year his finishing average would say he had a fairly decent season, infact his form towards the end of last season was excellent. Most fans would've liked him in the 2013 team but for whatever reason that didn't happen, but he`s back now though under circumstances nobody would want. Alden has proved a topscorer in the PL,end the season well for Berwick might just earn him a 2014 contract.

Subject to approval Berwick have signed Seb Alden as an injury replacement for Ricky Ashworth.

Im thinking theres a clue in this here post, but for the life of me I cant work it out.

Craig Cook Declines Test Meetings Gb V Aus
screm replied to Fiesta's topic in International World of Speedway
For the sake of Team GB for the next few years lets hope they do,must admit though I think theres more drive about Cook than there is about Barker.Woffindens out on his own just now,I dont see Harris,Nicholls etc getting any better,so its up to Cook,Barker,Bridger and others to show the ambition and move their careers on. -
I havent seen Glasgow yet this season,so last night was the 1st time Id seen Joe Jacobs, and from last night I was quite impressed. He got 5 rides, after the Dane Jokobsen was injured, scored 2pts but that couldve easily been more, bearing in mind the kind of opposition he was up against I thought he did more than ok.But then I see his scores for Glasgow and they look like two different riders, history shows that given the time most Aussies do come good, lets hope thats case for Jacobs and Glasgow for 2014.

Craig Cook Declines Test Meetings Gb V Aus

But where Cook is right now isnt such a bad place to be,representing your Country in the SWC,second in the Belle Vue averages and clear at the top of the PL averages. Its certainly fair to say that any pregress from here next year will be small, and Im sure we wont see Cook in the PL as he could very well pick up teams in Sweden and/or Poland which will bring him on as a rider I hope. -
He certainly did that.
-
Vaclav Milik certainly looked to be enjoying himself round Shielfield last night, could it be that we will be seeing more of him.
-
There was no names mentioned but it was announced that should everything go to plan then there would be a team change in time for next weeks visit of Somerset. It was also announced that there was no change in the condition of Ashworth.

Some truely fantastic racing last night, some savage first bends and some breathtaking overtakes.Pawlicki was a worthy winner, his ovetake on Dudek in Ht18 was incredible.Felt for Gomolski as if it hadnt been for a first ride exclusion he could very well have been the winner on the night himself.Lebedevs was very entertaining to say the least. Proves once and for all the even when Shielfield Park is prepared on the slick side you can still race, maybe a dvd should be winging its way to the Berwick riders to give them a clue. This promotion has done wonders to bring Berwick Speedway kicking and screaming into the 21st Century, they have now proved, not for the first time that they are more than capable of hosting the very best of meetings.Sadly IMO they are being let down by the meeting presentation on these big occasions,we have track and facilities ready for a modern era,yet the presentation is straight out of the 70s.On a normal PL night its fine but when the great and the good of the FIM and BSPA are there just something more up to date mightve caught the eye and left a lasting memory when these types of meetings are handed out in the future.
-
That subject to BSPA approval Berwick will have a new rider in the team for next weeks visit.

Edinburgh V Sheffield (pl) 8/8/13 @ 7.30pm

Was there last night but it sounds like this accident was just that,no blame on silencers etc.Sometimes its just down to being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
