  1. The FIM were filming at Berwick in the Under-21s,that meeting was later put onto the FIM site,I think it will be the same in this case.
  2. Joe desered better than for injury to force an early retirement, even if it was only a few weeks, but he can look back on a decent career both in the leagues over here and on the international stage.
  3. After saturday next,Berwick are free every saturday till the end of October, though you`d think the BSPA would like it run before the play-off cut off date which is mid-September I think.
  4. Steady rain over the last hour so thanks to Berwick speedway on saving everyone a wasted trip tonight.
  5. Bit surprised this has been called off so soon, especially giving the Rye House are a fellow saturday night track, though I must admit Im quite glad in a way if its spares us another meeting like last week, also Berwick should have Bellego and Rye Garrity back for the re-arranged fixture.
  6. Sad to hear about the injury, that could have a massive affect on Newcastles chances in the PL Play-offs.
  7. We`ve had rain in Berwick overnight, though nowhere near as much as was forecast.Still very cloudy at the minute and you wouldnt be surprised if it started to rain soon. Berwick are certainly weakened by the loss of Bellego, but I still expect them to have to much for our visitors tonight.
  8. Rain is forecast for overnight in Berwick, some of it will be heavy.Any rain will die out during the morning leaving a dry afternoon. Giving that last weeks meeting, apparently, was nearly lost to the weather after a heavy shower or two last friday night, one has to hope the track staff have seen the forecast and prepared the track accordingly.
  9. Sad news, condolenses to all family and friends.
  10. Me neither, though as a club asset he`s bound to come under consideration for a team place next season, which is understandable. On his night he`s capable of big scores, but at the start of the season at Berwick he looked poor.Sadly for the rider, and whatever club he rides for,he seems prone to injuries.
  11. Hopefully it will be a good night for James Grieves in what will be his last ever PL away meeting for Glasgow, how fitting its at one of his former homes.
  12. I think you`ll find the post you replied to was done so in tounge in cheek.
  13. With Bellego being lost in France in love this saturday,Berwick can only use a NL guest to cover him as the European Under-21 meeting that Bellego is taking part in carries no facility.
  14. Thanks for that, couldnt agree more with you about the promotion, they have indeed done many good things for Berwick Speedway and hopefully that will continue for many years to come.Which is probably why Saturday was such a let down, though Im sure the promotion will ensure that the track is back to its best next Saturday for the visit of Rye House.A meeting incidentally where Berwick will be without the services of David Bellego who is away racing in France.
  15. Then your mates wrong, it is true to say we had one heavy shower around teatime last Friday, if that shower was enough to put Saturdays meeting in doubt then we are in trouble as Shielfield has always had an excellent reputation for drainage and being able to with stand a lot of water. It was dry overnight Friday, Saturday morning saw a few light showers, nothing more, before a heavier shower in the middle of the afternoon. But now it is safe to assume that any significant rain on a Friday will put a Saturday meeting in doubt. Also Id argue your point about Shielfield not being a racers track, over the last few weeks the track has been slick and the racing in general has been decent, and last weeks under-21 meeting wasn't exactly shabby, infact Id say it was one of the best meeting ever staged at Berwick,so to sum up IMO someone dropped a clanger last Saturday and Im sure lessons will have learned from it.
  16. Tough luck on Glasgow not to record a long awaited home win but its Somerset who record a victory with a last heat 5-1.
  17. To be fair the tracks been pretty good for a few weeks now, with reasonable racing, but as you say last night it was horrendous, and by announcing that Tweedmouth was hit with monsoon like rain on Friday night makes all the worse. If you screw the track up either dont say anything or come out and be up front and apologise if you think it neccessary, but dont make a fool of people.
  18. With the condition Shielfield was in last night I wouldnt be judging any rider.
  19. Sadly for Glasgow I cant see anything other than an away win,and maybe quite a comfortable one at that.
  20. Fair play to Somerset on their win, they came they saw they conquered.Doyle was quite imperious, racing to a maximum, and he was well back up by Grajczonek and Morris.Obviously their task was made all the easier after Barrett & Smith were withdrawn from the meeting when they tangled in Ht11.Both were taken to hospital,Barrett with concussion and Smith with a neck injury, hopefully that Smith walked back to the pits to wait on his ambulance, and Barrett walked into the ambulance means to news on any lasting injury will be good news. Sadly with only 4 race winners it was a bit of a night to forget for Berwick,Alden on his Berwick return was unaffective as was most of his teamates.Word of credit to Paul starke who did all that was asked og him, scoring in all his races bar one. Sadly, and annoyingly it was back to the bad old days reguarding the track.Seeing riders enter the first turn only to be fired out towards the fence is not what you pay money to see.I know our regular track guy is away on holiday, hurry ye back Heppie,as I hope whoever did the track last night wont be doing it again anytime soon.Of course we had the usual response last night of the keys are in the pits if you want to do it,which is just foolish.I and many others pay thirteen hard earned pounds for the privledge of watching 15 heats of entertaining speedway and over the last few weeks we have, last night, when you get racing like that makes you wonder if its all worth while.
  21. Tiny sprinkle of rain earlier this morning but otherwise dry, right now its cloudy but dry. You can be sure that Somerset will have marked this meeting down as a must win.
  22. Matej Zagar Tai Woffinden NK Iversen Martin Vaculik
  23. Bit of a hefty shower yesterday teatime, but its been generally dry in Berwick overnight.Right now theres some light drizzle around, forecast is for some showers mostly this afternoon. For those who dont visit some of the other threads there was a collection last night for Ricky Ashworth at the Scunthorpe v Plymouth match which raised the amazing sum of £967-04.
  24. Davey suffered a compound fracture to his femur,he had surgery today.
