  1. To be fair to Tomicek he did a more than decent job while he was at reserve, sadly when he moved up into the team his scoring wasn't quite as good. Cant see him being at Berwick somehow.
  2. Hasnt he retired. Now that Paul Starke has been named in the EL for Birmingham,I wonder if he wouldnt a shrewd signing for us at Berwick.Riding against the top guys week in week out might bring him on more, hopefully with Berwick feeling the benefit.
  3. You don't do the Berwick press releases do you.
  4. But theres a talent there, and with the right management and promotion he could be a top scorer. But that wont be Berwick,so you can rest easy.
  5. Kus would be a gamble, undoubted talent who had a poor season,if Berwick were thinking of signing him then nows the time as there every chance he wont be on this kind of average again. Dont see him being at Berwick.
  6. Kus may have offered his services but was turned down, with the 2014 team already in place, pure speculation of course. Decent rider and with the right mamangement he`d make a snip on his 6+ average, somebody could make a very shrewd signing.
  7. The lack of announcements would lead us to conclude that no riders have been signed.
  8. If Carrs in then we need a top scoring fellow reserve,or an out and out top draw no1.Stead would certainly be that though I cant see him at Berwick, nor Richard Lawson for that matter. My choice would be Ryan Fisher, but I cant see that either.
  9. With Grajonek,Davies and Newman off to pastures new, every chance that Doyle wont be back, the Somerset team next year will be very different to the of 2013.
  10. By now the club must have their team, and are talking to the riders.Of course they need to have a back up plan, but if they are putting a team together by waiting to see whats left after the other clubs are taking shape then that can only end up one way. Pies & burgers.
  11. If you look back on my previous couple of posts you will find I agree with this point about selling season tickets to customers, who have as yet dont know what team they will be watching.
  12. Carr certainly got his named around towards the end of last season, picking up guest outings for Edinburgh, though I cant see Edinburgh going into next season with Worrall & Carr at their reserve positions.
  13. Its was our team manager Ian Rae who said he wasnt sure if Carr was up to racing in the PL full time, something I agree with him about, though unlike me I think Rae will have had his opinion changed by now. You bit about trying to sell season tickets to customers who done know the team I agree with, but your wanting to have a team signed yesterday posts are becomming tiresome.
  14. Berge would come in on a 5pt assessed average.
  15. Any chance that Berwick have in getting a new asset should be taking so yes, signing young Berge would do the job.
  16. If Carr is one of the reserves then the other needs to be one of the highest averaging reserves in the PL.Firstly because all top teams have at least one reserve whos able to be among their teams top scorers and the other it will take the pressure off Carr who is bound to struggle in meetings at times. That would rule out Branford, and sadly Starke, who IMO would be one of the reseves for next season,a Starke Branford could work.
  17. The 2014 Berwick team being one of them. I agree that this team will never see the light of day, after the first set of averages we`d have three brand new assets. My thinking then would to make a team change or two bring in another new rider,Dimitri Berge, let him get a true average, then at the end of the season we`d have seven or eight club assets and a team of our own riders for 2015. I think this is what this promotion shouldve done, when there was an air of optimism, chance missed.
  18. Vaclav Millik 7-00 Zdnek Holub 7-00 David Bellego 6-36 Liam Carr 3-00 Gino Minares 7-00 Seb Alden 7-37 Adam Ellis 4-25
  19. No Andrew Tully in the Newcastle team named today, could he be a Bandit in 2014.
  20. If your allowed on Twitter, you will realise that Ritchie Worrall has said that Newcastle did offer him a contract but as he is looking to race in Poland he had to look elsewhere. Good on him for trying to further his career by racing regularly in the EL and Poland.
  21. The Newcastle promotion and management have a history of getting the very best out of their team,Im thinking that whatever the Newcastle seven is that will continue in 2014. Other promotions could do worse than learn a little from them.
  22. No matter I hope we wont be seeing Magosi in the 2014 Bandits team.Yes he did a decent job in his previous career with Berwick, but that was some ago and IMO he hasent really done anything since then that would warrant a team place, hasnt raced over here, and hasnt excatly set the world alight with racing on the continent. Also,if he left Berwick under a bit of a cloud with part of the current promotion then that would scupper him signing still further. For a rider to make speedway pay to any decent degree then they must race in at least 2 leagues, probably 3,and if a rider isnt prepared to commute from Berwick on a saturday to Poland on a sunday then he really shouldnt be in the job.
