Craig Cook Declines Test Meetings Gb V Aus
screm replied to Fiesta's topic in International World of Speedway
For the sake of Team GB for the next few years lets hope they do,must admit though I think theres more drive about Cook than there is about Barker.Woffindens out on his own just now,I dont see Harris,Nicholls etc getting any better,so its up to Cook,Barker,Bridger and others to show the ambition and move their careers on. -
I havent seen Glasgow yet this season,so last night was the 1st time Id seen Joe Jacobs, and from last night I was quite impressed. He got 5 rides, after the Dane Jokobsen was injured, scored 2pts but that couldve easily been more, bearing in mind the kind of opposition he was up against I thought he did more than ok.But then I see his scores for Glasgow and they look like two different riders, history shows that given the time most Aussies do come good, lets hope thats case for Jacobs and Glasgow for 2014.

Craig Cook Declines Test Meetings Gb V Aus

But where Cook is right now isnt such a bad place to be,representing your Country in the SWC,second in the Belle Vue averages and clear at the top of the PL averages. Its certainly fair to say that any pregress from here next year will be small, and Im sure we wont see Cook in the PL as he could very well pick up teams in Sweden and/or Poland which will bring him on as a rider I hope. -
He certainly did that.

Vaclav Milik certainly looked to be enjoying himself round Shielfield last night, could it be that we will be seeing more of him.
-
There was no names mentioned but it was announced that should everything go to plan then there would be a team change in time for next weeks visit of Somerset. It was also announced that there was no change in the condition of Ashworth.

Some truely fantastic racing last night, some savage first bends and some breathtaking overtakes.Pawlicki was a worthy winner, his ovetake on Dudek in Ht18 was incredible.Felt for Gomolski as if it hadnt been for a first ride exclusion he could very well have been the winner on the night himself.Lebedevs was very entertaining to say the least. Proves once and for all the even when Shielfield Park is prepared on the slick side you can still race, maybe a dvd should be winging its way to the Berwick riders to give them a clue. This promotion has done wonders to bring Berwick Speedway kicking and screaming into the 21st Century, they have now proved, not for the first time that they are more than capable of hosting the very best of meetings.Sadly IMO they are being let down by the meeting presentation on these big occasions,we have track and facilities ready for a modern era,yet the presentation is straight out of the 70s.On a normal PL night its fine but when the great and the good of the FIM and BSPA are there just something more up to date mightve caught the eye and left a lasting memory when these types of meetings are handed out in the future.

That subject to BSPA approval Berwick will have a new rider in the team for next weeks visit.

Was there last night but it sounds like this accident was just that,no blame on silencers etc.Sometimes its just down to being in the wrong place at the wrong time. -
Shouldnt be any problems weatherwise,Monday was a wet day but apart from that its been mostly dry and reasonably warm this week.Forecast overnight is dry and mild, tomorrow will be a mostly dry day, chance of a shower or two in the afternoon but these will be scattered so we are just as likely to miss them than get them. I will post a weather update as regular as is needed, but I cant see there being any problems.

Ive every simpathy for Lee having to go through the break up of a long term relationship, but having turned to drugs Im afraid he will have to face up for his actions. -

For those of you who aren't aware yet, or haven't been onto the official site, the Ben Fund collection last Saturday night raised £1541-90.A fantastic effort from the Berwick and Edinburgh fans, and those who were there to support neither. -

Rickys sister posted on Twitter last night that he would have a further scan today,on the results of that scan the doctors would decide if they could start to bring Ricky out of his induced coma,so fingers crossed for him today. -

Didn't put it my post last night, but I was pleasantly surprised as to how good the crowd looked last night, hopefully that would've swelled the Ben Fund collection that took place. Certainly when the buckets came by me they looked pretty full. -

It was announced that Ashworths condition remains unchanged from what was announced this morning,he is in the best place and recieving the very best of care from the medical team at Hull.A tribute was also paid to the track side medical team at Scunthorpe for their treatment of Ricky and the speed in which he was transfered to the local A&E.Over the next 24-48hrs Ricky will under go a medical precedure that will aid him to come out of his coma, when theres something to annouce Berwick will do it via their website. Cracking meeting I saw tonight, not a massive amount of passing but the racing was always close as was the scoreline so it was exciting stuff.Edinburgh looked well in command right up to half way where they lead 22-26 but two crucial 5-1s in Ht9 & 10 not only got Berwick back into the meeting but into the lead,a lead they were never to surrender.Infact but for a couple of retirements,Wethers Ht3 while on a 5-1 and Barret while in scoring position in Ht14,though in Barrets case when you leave a puddle of fuel at the start line like he did your bound to be in a bit of bother. All in all a very enjoyable nights speedway. -

Ive not seen any annoucement on guests to I take it Berwick will go with r/r with everyone being able to take a ride.Im sure the managements thoughts today will have been with our No1 so looking for guests would not have been upmost in their minds, also with quite a few other PL teams riding tonight it wouldve been a nightmare trying to get an adequate rider. Im sure it will be difficult for all 13 riders to go out and race tonight as Im sure their thoughts will all be with their teamate, rival and friend Ricky Ashworth. But when the helmet goes on and the googles come down they do what they do best, and race.
