Isnt it time then that these kinds of decisions should be put into the hands of an independent body. -

People of BSF I need some advice, I`m going to this years Prague GP. A bit of travel advice is what I`m after, best way to get from Airport to Hotel, best way to get round Prague, best way of getting up to Marketa Stadiun and costs involved. I cant keep asking my friend Alan as I think he is sick of me already, so any advice would be appreciated as I`m sure some of you would've been there before and know the do`s and don'ts. -

I agree, all these maximums, another one today, a near 10-50 average are doing Edinburgh no good what so ever. -

I`m quite happy to see changes, but not for changes sake, which is what would happen in this case. Doolan is not scoring as a No1 should but to be fair to him it was only the averages that dictated his team position. I think we all knew he isn't a No1, once the averages sort themselves out and Vissing moves to No1 with Doolan moving to a true position in the team I think is a better time to judge him, at the minute it is more of a concern that we keep Jensen at reserve for as long as possible. Still like to see a change in riding order with Wethers going to No2 and Bellego going to No3 or 4. -

Once Berwick have dumped Sheffield out of the KOC next Thursday all this will be immaterial. -

As last there season are three Finals again this season, first of which is on July 19th, Berwick are due to be racing at home to Edinburgh that night. Second is on August 17th, that's a Sunday and Berwick have no fixture, however if practice is compulsory, meaning you have to attend even if you don't take to the track then Bellego will miss the home meeting with Somerset. Third is on October 4th, Berwick have no home fixture that night. -

Wasn't allowed last night, Bellego being in the Qualifying Rounds, so I don't think it will be allowed for the Finals. Who knows indeed, I`m sure someone from BSPA, MC or Sheffield Speedway must read this, so is it asking to much for a bit of clarity. -

Fair enough, if Sheffield re-declared without the knowledge of Roynon then he should not be banned, but then Sheffield should not have had any facility. One wonders that this would not have happened had they still had Mr Hoggart as part of their promotion, just a thought. -

Thanks for that, I wasn't there last night so was unaware of that. But fear not my friends, like Moses from the mount I should make my return next Saturday evening. -

I agree with you so Sheffield should not have had R/R for either Proctor or Roynon last night. -

From the 2014 Speedway Regulations: Rule 16.5.3 No facility is permitted to replace a rider, who although included in a re-declaration has not made an appearance for that team since being re-declared. If Sheffield re-declared him back into their 1-7, then he should've been at Berwick last night. -
Berwick V Sheffield Koc 2nd Leg 5/05/2014 @7pm
screm replied to screm's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Thursday's original first leg was a victim of the weather in South Yorkshire meaning Berwick's brief for last night's first leg was simply to score as many 5-1s and take as big a lead as possible to the Tiger's second leg which will now be Thursday coming. Simon Stead was late to the gate and not first away but coming out of bend two he soared round Berwick Number One Kevin Doolan to take a good second, split the Bandits with a home 4-2 going into the record. Steen Jensen ended up on his second bike before Heat Two got under way as his first failed but he was last out of the gate, battling well with Josh Bates to pass him on the second lap with Liam Carr well out in front to take a massive win in another 4-2 to double Berwick's lead. Kus was in blistering form again in Heat Three which he won with consummate ease as Matthew Wethers battle all race with Taylor Poole, having passed Andre Compton, only just missing out on second as yet another 4-2 was recorded with the score now 12-6. Bates had been overhauled by Claus Vissing off bend two in Heat Four, but going in to bend three the young Tiger's steel shoe came adrift and caused him to fall, and subsequently excluded from the three-man re-run in which Vissing barged the tapes and to initiate a second re-run with him off a 15 metre handicap. At the third time of asking Jensen jetted away to lead as Vissing embarked on a four-lap charge and just passed Leigh Lanham on the run to the chequered flag to take a home maximum 5-1 which extended the Berwick lead to a fine 17-7. Stead took a fine win in the fifth with Sheffield finally taking an advantage 2-4 before Doolan made a fine gate in the sixth and held the lead to the end as Jensen passed Simon Nielsen off bend two and gave Lanham some hard moves to think about but the 4-2 was Berwick with better tome come. Carr made a magnificent move at speed round the outside of Compton and Poole to take second, a position he held beautifully to the end of the race, won out in front by Vissing in a Berwick 5-1 taking the score to 28-14. Jensen passed Lanham off bend two in the eighth with Wethers passing and having to re-pass again Lanham on the fourth bend of lap three for Berwick to land another 5-1 to go a very healthy 18 points ahead. Following another 5-1 Doolan's primary chain flew off as he let the clutch out but Jensen was away again well ahead of Compton and Poole to share the race 3-3 and more the score on to 41-19. Stead took Heat 11 with out much trouble in a visitor's 2-4, and, mounted on the same Stead bike, Compton came out an destroyed the heat to take a big win followed well by Nielsen in an unexpected Sheffield 1-5 over Kus and Jensen to tighten up the score to 44-28. Stead's bike - this time with Stead on it again - took another three points, and with Lanham passing Doolan on the opening lap the 2-4 reduced the gap to only 14 points with three races to go and a whole second leg to race on Thursday night. The fast staring Jensen and Wethers roared to the front again in Heat 14, with Jensen taking the widest line round bends three and four ever dared, another 5-1 extended the vitally important differential between the sides to 18 points with one race left, which after a final heat share left that the final difference to take to South Yorkshire on Thursday. The Bandits co-team manager Ian Rae was reasonably satisfied, saying: “Mid way through it looked as though we would easily hit a good 60 points plus score which would have made the trip to Sheffield on Thursday pretty comfortable, but they are an experienced side and it shone through in the latter half as them stemmed the tide and scored a few good wins of their own. “18 points is a good margin to take to Owlerton but it means we have a far harder match ahead than it might have been – and the chance of a ¼ Final against Edinburgh could be the dangling carrot our lads need to come up with the goods.” Individual Riders' Score Chart: Berwick “New Holland Bandits” 54 1. Josh Bates ® 0,Fx,0,N = 0 Taken from the Berwick site, as you can see it has R/R for Roynon, as I`ve posted elsewhere it might be an idea if we could get a bit of clarity. I know the Berwick management were not amused about the situation, whether this lead to any kind of protest I wouldn't know. -

There`s probably a rule with a sub-section that would stop that happening, but on the face of it I don't see a problem, which is the point, if Sheffield offered the chance for Roynon to come back into the team, and he refused then they quite within in the rules to claim Roynon as withholding his services and get R/R at Berwick last night. Subsequently Roynon should now be banned for 28-days for doing so. All we want is a bit of clarity, from either the BSPA or Sheffield Speedway. Both have websites so its not like they cant make a statement. -

Berwick`s to lose now IMO, I feel a tad sorry for Liam Carr being pulled out of one of his rides last night. He has struggled somewhat recently but had paid six from two rides, you`d think he deserved his full allocation of rides, now I understand we have to get Jensen out as many times as possible, especially as he has hit some kind of form recently but IMO it would've done Carr`s confidence the power of good getting a fourth ride. -

Had Proctor ridden for Sheffield last Thursday then r/r would've been for him in the meeting last night, and all within the rules as he was required for his EL club, so no problem there. Quite how Sheffield were let away with r/r for Roynon last night is quite bizarre, afterall it was Sheffield who sacked him. Maybe Sheffield re-declared their 1-7 again to include Roynon on Friday, with Roynon refusing to ride, that would mean he was withholding his services and Sheffield were granted r/r. That means Roynon cops a 28-day ban and Sheffield can re-declare their team, this time to include Proctor and everyone's happy. -

Even more interesting to see if Roynon cops a 28-day ban for withholding his services. -

In this situation Mr Barrie will have to do as he`s told, especially if Berwick are either going to ride under protest or protest at the end of the meeting. -

Its a chance he has taken, David Bellego qualified from todays round of the Under-21 Champs, he finished with 10pts from his qualifying rides and came through after a run off. -

Your jumping the gun a bit, as far as we know Berwick haven't put in any protest yet, maybe they will this evening when the ref turn up. How could Sheffield have gone with r/r for Roynon, he is fit to ride, it was Sheffields choice to get rid of him. This whole thing would never have come about had the first leg taken place last Thursday. -

The get out clause for the MC could be that Proctor would've made he debut last Thursday had it not been rained-off, as it stands what Sheffield are getting away with does look iffy. -

I`ve no problem with Bellego going for any title, best of luck to him, but as Fromafar says Berwick only get one go at KOC glory, being without Bellego affects that chance greatly. This doesn't apply in this case, I posted the same when Franchetti, Franc etc missed meetings. -
