  1. This clash of fixture would've been known for sometime, you`d think Poole would've aired their views before now.
  2. The FIM rulebook would of better use after you have finished sitting on the toilet.
  3. FURIOUS manager Neil Middleditch insisted punters were “being robbed” after Poole Pirates had their attempt to draft in Scott Nicholls as a guest blocked by speedway chiefs. The Wimborne Road outfit have been forced into three changes for tomorrow's trip to Lakeside Hammers (7.30pm) with Shamek Pawlicki racing for Leszno in Poland, Vaclav Milik on under-21 duty and new boy Ben Hopwood featuring for Stoke Potters. Rookie and Lakeside asset Jack Kingston fills Hopwood's reserve berth, while Steve Boxall, a rider with Premier League club Rye House, stands in forrMilik. But Middleditch's bug bear is over Poole's inability to bring in Belle Vue's seven-time British champion Nicholls, with Finnish rider Kalle Katajsto, who represents Plymouth in the second tier, taking his place at the last minute. The Pirates team boss, who had yet to find out the reasons behind the refusal, told the Daily Echo: “We were very disappointed not to get the guest facility and we have been punished through no fault of our own. “Lakeside will be putting on a sub-standard meeting and it is disgraceful that the public are being robbed by paying to watch what is meant to be an Elite League meeting. “People want to see the top riders on show but we have had to fill it with Premier League lads because our hands were tied.” Injured star Darcy Ward is set to race, with Middleditch expecting Poole to be back at full strength for Monday's trip to Leicester (3pm).
  4. Mark Lemon has just signed for Newcastle, I wonder if Glasgow know.
  5. Well done Smolinski, that the THE most fantastic interviews I`ve ever heard.
  6. Perfectly good move from Pedersen on Ward, Darcy had a big frilly dress on there.
  7. I`m going but then I`ve only got to go from Berwick.
  8. Don't worry a Courtney Love gig is enough to drive anyone to drink.
  9. Tonight's meeting at Armadale sees the start of a new era at the stadium. In the past forty hours the ownership of the stadium has changed hands and the Cochrane family are now in charge. As greyhound people, their first priority is to make improvements on the dog side but signs of the initial upgrading to the stadium will be obvious this evening. We look forward to positive relationship and to see the stadium improving week by week. A big improvement on last week will be a well stocked bar! Newcastle have called up Scunthorpe National League rider Ryan McDonald to replace the injured Luke Crang. Diamonds boss George English faced a nightmare in finding a last minute replacement for Crang who was replacing Chris Schramm. Four of the Scotwaste Monarchs attended the Armadale Primary School Fun Day at lunchtime today. Aaron, Justin, Max and birthday boy Sam were the star attractions at the school event. Hopefully their efforts will entice some of the children to the stadium this evening. Birthday boy Sam and recent birthday boy Craig invite all supporters to the bar after the meeting this evening to enjoy a piece of their birthday cake.
  10. I think we`ve all been guilty of being over optimistic about our team in recent seasons, though to be fair the promotion put together teams that looked good on paper but never rode to that potential. There was plenty questions about this years team, but they are producing the goods to a decent level so far. Don't see them reaching the play-offs at the end of the season, but from an entertainment point of view I`ve enjoyed the speedway meetings I`ve seen so far, apart from last week the track has been consistently good so its been value for money so far this season. Nooooooooo we could've announced our engagement. Quite happy there is no speedway next week though as I`m off to Prague for the SGP.
  11. Talking sense, like I say it probably wont last. Bottom-licker, I`ve been called a lot worse. On the riders, I post what I see, Kus`s scores and performances of been decent of late after a stuttering start, for reason already put forward by Spittalbandit. Kus now needs to find a consistent level both home and away, if he does Berwick have a rider who can provide the scores necessary to win meetings, it would also take the pressure off a rider like Carr who is finding points hard to come by just now.
  12. BIRMINGHAM have pulled off the shock signing of Polish sensation Bartosz Zmarzlik. Zmarzlik, 19, has agreed a short-term deal to replace the injured Adam Skornicki who has returned to Poland for a second opinion on his hip damage. The new rider will make his Selco Brummies debut against Belle Vue at Perry Barr next Wednesday. He burst onto the scene in 2012 as he sensationally claimed a spot on the rostrum as wildcard in the FIM Polish Grand Prix in Gorzow. Delighted Selco Brummies owner Alan Phillips said: "He's not a big name but he's a young, hungry, exceptionally talented rider and he was always my number one choice. "I've been after him for a few weeks now and I'm just delighted we've managed to finalise the deal. "Obviously he'll initially be standing in for Adam which will give him a chance to grit his teeth in British racing. "Hopefully we can see him get to grips with the Elite League fairly quickly and he can make a positive impact for us." Giving the position Birmingham find themselves in, the least of their problems is name pronunciations.
  13. Birmingham have signed Bartosz Zmarzlik as short term cover for Adam Skornicki.
  14. Its fair to say the MC have stretched the odd rule from time to time but even they wouldn't let Worrall ride for both teams, though they`ve tried most things so why not give it a go.
  15. That's two bigeddiechek likes to my posts, it wont last surely. Two excellent posts, I admit I`m as guilty as the next man at judging riders from what I see on track, I wouldn't know any of the current Berwick riders so its all I have to go on.
  16. Giving the similarity in the two tracks there is no reason why Berwick cant do well over at Derwent Park tonight, but we`ve said that for a few seasons now, our record at Workington isn't exactly great. So its time for a change, Berwick to nick a point and keep up their challenge towards the top of the PL table.
  17. I was delighted Berwick signed him, I thought he would be the key rider if we were to have a decent season. Fair to say he got off to an indifferent start to the season but over the last few meetings he has shown a consistent level of performance and scoring that could be a huge plus to Berwick.
  18. Lewis Rose will miss tomorrows meeting, Newcastle will go with R/R, Redcars Luke Crang will come in as a guest for Chris Schramm.
  19. Had it not been for Berwick its fair to say Kus would not have had a team over here, so if he is paying back the faith Berwick showed in him then fair play to the lad. He has hit some decent form of late, and going with a NL guest as Berwick would've had to do would've been hopeless, lets hope Kus is rewarded with a big score this Saturday.
  20. Good grief what an overreaction, your doing my shell like head in.
  21. Berwick 1 Kevin Doolan 2 David Bellego 3 Matej Kus 4 Mathew Wethers 5 Claus Vissing 6 Liam Carr 7 Steen Jensen Workington 1 Stuart Robson 2 Mason Campton 3 Ricky wells 4 Kyle Howarth 5 Rene Bach 6 Chris Mills 7 Ashley Morris Weather forecast is reasonable between now and Saturday evening so having gone so close earlier in the season I`m sure Workington will be fancying their chances.
  22. Now that this meeting has gone for the third time running, surely Sheffield will do the decent thing and concede the tie.
  23. With ten riders going through to the next stage, I doubt even Harris could cock that up.
  24. But what system would go in place, didn't they try a grading system a few years ago which was binned after one year. I like the rolling averages they have now, yes its a bugger to work out, but far better than the month to month CMA`s they used to have which at times was nothing more than an average fiddling exercise.
  25. Berwick are riding well as a team and with a bit of confidence, Sheffield to win on the night but Berwick to go through.
