Cardiff really does set the standard, will BSI consider a slight reduction in ticket prices so the place sells out, maybe the hotels in Cardiff might do like wise.

Tad unfair, Cook making the GP was fantastic, hopefully he will learn from tonight a kick on with his career, he has decent ability, if he gets contracts in Poland & Sweden etc he can cut a decent career for himself.

Be surprised.

Workington Comets V Peterborough Panthers Lc Semi

Ales Dryml has pulled out due to a back injury, Peterborough will go with R/R. -
I agree, I`d be quite happy to drop Carr or any other rider for that matter, if there was a better alternative but the truth is there isn't. To replace one three pointer who will struggle to achieve a three point average with another just doesn't make sense, we could drop another rider, Doolan, Wethers for example, but again its difficult to see a better rider out there, not unless Berwick take a gamble on an assessed five or seven point rider and risk what they have built on so far this season. Maybe another club will be making changes soon that may free up a rider worth while looking at but for the foreseeable future we should stay as we are.

Haven't read the thread all the way through but I`m guessing the exclusion of Morris is the main taking point, IMO perfectly correct decision, just because its a Pairs Final shouldn't mean there is a new set of rules and shame on Nigel Pearson for suggesting other wise. Yes it made the Final an anti-climax but Morris was rightly excluded. Another decent advert for PL racing with lots of good racing on one of the best tracks in the PL. Congratulations to Edinburgh on their win and to Somerset Speedway on putting on an excellent meeting I hope they host the PL Pairs for many seasons to come.

Something Got To Change (sheffield)
screm replied to OILYRAG's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Sheffield seem to have been threatening team changes for a while now. -
Superb result for Berwick, and we only had six riders scoring which makes it all the more impressive. Hopefully we can keep up our top six challenge.

In a word no. Very true, though its not a bad idea to strengthen from a position of strength.

Redcar 1 Richard Lawson 2 Hugh Skidmore 3 Mark Lemon 4 Carl Wilkinson 5 Aaron Summers 6 Jan Graversen 7 Rafal Konopka Berwick 1 Claus Vissing 2 David Bellego 3 Steen Jensen 4 Mathew Wethers 5 Kevin Doolan 6 Liam Carr 7 Matej Kus Amazingly no thread started for this meeting, seems that a rain off at Kings Lynn has enabled Lawson to take his place in the Bears line up. Can the Mods either delete or lock the other thread I started, sorry for any confusion caused.

Berwick`s averages effective from July 7th. Claus Vissing 7-73 Kevin Doolan 6-73 Mathew Wethers 6-67 David Bellego 6-46 Steen Jensen 5-50 Matej Kus 5-26 Liam Carr 3-00 Team Total 41-35.

True, so you`d think they might've included the news that Bellego will miss this meeting, or maybe that might put a few off going knowing that Berwick will be without one of their top scorers. Correct Bellego will be in Lonigo that night racing in the first World Under-21 Final. The second Final takes place on August 17th at Ostrow/Poznan, depending on travel arrangements and/or practice rulings there must be a chance that Bellego will miss our home meeting on August 16th against Somerset.

Panthers V Rye House (pl) Tues 8/7/14

Your right though if Rye are suffering from dwindling crowds and losing money because of it, a decent cash injection cant be ignored. -
Our Australian powerhouse Kevin Doolan was brutally honest when interviewed on Dick's roving mike after the Plymouth match. Kevin recorded two wins and a handy paid victory against the Devils (paid nine points) and admitted that he was pleased enough with his actual riding -- not least, he emphasised, because he was doing it "on top of a donkey"! Kevin confessed his lack of funding has held back hopes of getting a faster engine installed in his bike, and that while some newer parts are due for delivery this week, he is having to borrow funds -- spend money he doesn't have -- to attempt to keep on winning, and assist our New Holland Bandits in maintaining our standing in the top six of the Premier League table. Honest words from an honest guy. We wish Kev well in his attempts to "breed a faster donkey" and match his enthusiastic riding with a steed worthy of his skills. No doubt, he'd also be pleased to chat to anyone who might know of a way to help him invest in his equipment without breaking his bank! Taken from the latest Berwick Newsletter.

Workington Comets V Peterborough Panthers Lc Semi

Workington did all the hard work at EOES the other week IMO, they shouldn't throw it away, but as Peterborough showed at Berwick they are capable of a surprise result or two.
