HISTORY-SEEKING Elite League champions Poole Pirates have been given the perfect “power” boost ahead of the new season in March with a lucrative new two-year team sponsorship. The Dorset side – bidding for a record-breaking third successive Elite League title in 2015 – have joined forces with Berkshire-based Readypower Engineering Ltd as the club’s headline sponsors. And in a deal which Pirates boss Matt Ford believes is “speedway’s perfect team sponsorship”. the Readypower company are headed by managing director Julie Mahoney and general manager Rick Frost who were previously involved at Peterborough Speedway as both sponsors and owners. Ford admitted: “I have been indebted to all our previous team sponsors but I’m probably more proud and excited of this link with Readypower than any other in my 16 years in charge at the club. “Julie and Rick have a huge passion for speedway and to be able to reinvigorate them and get them back involved in this sport after a year away for them is a huge boost for Poole speedway and everyone involved in the sport. “When they were running Peterborough Speedway they were the toughest opponents and I am pretty sure they dished out one of Poole’s biggest home defeats while they were in charge at the East of England Showground. “The fact they are on our side is a fantastic tie-up and I don’t just feel it’s the perfect business link but a double bonus that they are friends too and know that coming on board will just add to the 'family' at Poole Speedway.” Readypower are a company who offer a comprehensive range of plant and equipment for hire to the construction and railway industries in the UK. They operate nationwide from strategically located depots which allows them to provide a top quality service throughout the UK for those seeking local supply or regional and national contracts alike. Ford added: “The Readypower Pirates has a nice ring about it. It’s ironic that sport in the UK is currently being dominated by Phil “The Power” Taylor in the PDC Darts World Championship at the current time. “I hope we can use Phil’s “Power” nickname to our advantage with the Readypower sponsorship link. “After winning back to back Elite League titles, this year is going be another gripping season for all of us at Wimborne Road. “But it’s been a fantastic close season so far for the club with both Chris Holder and Davey Watt ‘coming home’ to wear the blue and white again in 2015. “And to be able to confirm loyal speedway friends in the shape of Julie (Mahoney) and Rick (Frost) with Readypower back to the sport is yet another proud moment for me and Poole Speedway Taken from Poole Speedway.

Please don't give him any more attention, it will lead to a high self importance and that accolade is already taken on the Berwick threads.
-
Think yourself lucky you have signed five, Berwick are asking their adult fans to fork out £199 having only announced three signings, and one of those (Allen) is in doubt until we know how he gets on with his visa never mind his starting average.
-
Not me cuz I wasn't the one boasting the other day about knowing the team, which I have invited you to post, so far you haven't, therefore I put it to you all your post was doing was trying to draw a bit of attention to yourself, for that I congratulate you as you have achieved your aim, but be carful we already have one poster on the Berwick thread that craves attention and you don't want to mess with him.
-
Your making yourself look very silly.
-
For the sake of this forum, for goodness sake sign the team Berwick.
-
No there isn't, only one, its up next to Halfords.
-
My only disappointment is that the Chump of the Year has already been won, you`d think you could've waited till June or July to win it but no, second day of January and the competition is over. Anyway congratulations, you must be very proud.
-
Maybe BRFC could take a leaf out of speedways book and turn up using R/R and four or five guests, might help them win.
-
Well I`m going and by the looks of things Shads is to, I`m sure there`ll be eleven starlets strutting their stuff , though at most BRFC games they announce the crowd changes to the team.
-
Why should they, neither have East Stirling, anyway we are all still waiting for col24 to name the team, so far he`s been a bit of a let down.
-
Dargo or Dalziel were the two subs in the second half, though my visits to see Berwick Rangers are about a regular as yours so I wouldn't know one from the other I`m afraid.
-
Currie has been transfer listed so maybe he wont make it tomorrow.
-
Might not be joining you, but we will wave on the way past.
-
Wards hearing date, which was due next week, has been moved.
-
Don't you read these threads, there is no passing at Shielfield.
-
If Glasgow do look elsewhere then that would leave only two teams to get into, Plymouth and Berwick, and I cant see Aaron fancying the drive from Millfield all the way down to Plymouth each Friday.
-
Me to, I am hoping for better than last week.
-
I was at that game to, and yes it wasn't the best was it. Official attendance was 598, I thought the speedway gets at least as many on a Saturday night but even on that figure it would make it very difficult to make speedway pay.
-
So it might be in Havelock`s interest to get in as many transfer fees as possible.
-
Its Jan 1 not Apr 1.
-
Agreed, questions still remain over Allen, after that as you say I think this years team will filled up from last years team.
-
You would hope no matter who it is the FIM should take each case of this nature as serious as the next, as has just been posted the FIM have made a right pigs ear of this. Ward should've known his fate ages ago.
-
I see our friend col24 is yet to post next seasons team, as he knows of course. We can let him off not posting last night as I am sure he was toasting the 2015 Berwick team time and again, but today is a new day and indeed a new year, I am sure he will be posting the team by the end of today.
-
To be fair, the time this has taken to get sorted out is ridiculous, so you could argue Ward has been punished already.
