  1. What is there to suggest that Allen`s average will be anything other than a seven.
  2. If its got feathers like a duck, and quacks like a duck and swims like a duck, then its a duck. If you sign six riders leaving 1-66 for your last rider then you`ve signed a team over the limit and illegal, giving the limit is 42-50.
  3. Then either Berwick will sign Allen on a five point average, which he wont be, Berwick have decided against signing Allen on a seven, or the Berwick pronation are using a very wonky calculator.
  4. Fair enough, though Havelock`s valuation of Summers is a bit steep to say the least, in fact IMO Havelock can put whatever valuation he wants on Summers, he is only worth what Glasgow are willing to pay, at the end of it all if Glasgow want Summers badly enough they could go to arbitration and let the figure be decided that way but I think they may look else where leaving Aaron without a club.
  5. All true, but in both cases Havelock demanded a transfer fee, and in both cases he has put an unrealistic figure on the head of both riders.
  6. Ipswich do look good, in Covatti they have a reserve that should score well in the PL. For Berwick there is still enough riders out there to get a decent team for 2015, here`s hoping.
  7. Normal service resumed, fixture list comes out, people start booking holidays and hotels to see their team, only for clubs to start moving fixtures willy and indeed nilly just because one or more of their riders find riding in some meeting abroad more appealing than fulfilling their own clubs fixtures here.
  8. Signing a 3pt rider just to make the numbers up is pointless, and weaken the team still further, we`ve gone down the route of carrying riders and it doesn't work. With Allen in the team we need at least one reserve that is capable of scoring decent points home and away, its difficult to see a 3pt rider or an Alex Edberg doing that. Signing Allen is a good idea if we have the strong reserve to back it up as once the averages change it might see Allen drop to reserve where he should find points easier to come by, and the stronger of the two reserves moving up into the top five as Jensen and then Kus did last year.
  9. Giving the stance Havelock took over Matej Kus there`s every chance he would've done the same with Summers.
  10. Looking at posts made by Aaron on Facebook, does in his opinion, put the blame fairly and squarely at the door of Mr Havelock.
  11. ‏@aaronsummers88 27m27 minutes ago Anyone need a full time mechanic this year cause the way things are going I'll not have a team
  12. Great news Newport are coming back to the PL then are they.
  13. Make sure you have Jan 30th booked, it could be a goodie, and I don't mean Bill Oddie.
  14. Please don't tell me the rules change year on year.
  15. Last season Berwick raced their twelfth meeting that would qualify for averages towards the end of May, admittedly there were a number of rain offs that extended the date, something similar next season and one or two home defeats along the way while we carry Allen before strengthening would probably see our season virtually over. Its a gamble but I think Berwick will sign Allen, a new asset is very attractive, but they will need a reserve who will be a big scorer and capable of upping his average, something similar to Jensen or Kus while they were at reserve last season. It would be unrealistic to ask Barker to increase his average, he is a top rider with a top average, Jorgensen will take time to settle and his starting average is good, no disrespect to Edberg or Doolan but can anyone see any significant increase in their averages, no.
  16. I`m sure they will deal with the offensive posts and posters in due course, it would be very sad if they didn't.
  17. PETERBOROUGH are delighted to confirm Readypower as their flagship sponsors for the 2015 season. The Berkshire-based plant hire business of club owners Rick Frost and Julie Mahoney will revive a long-standing association with Panthers in the new season. Readypower were previously main backers of the club between 2009 and 2013. The deal is a major boost to new club chief Ged Rathbone, who said: “Rick and Julie have done so much for Peterborough Speedway down the years. “They have again been a huge help during this winter as we battled to keep the club on track. “They have made no secret of the fact they no longer have time for active involvement in the sport, but we truly appreciate their backing. “Their support is both very welcome and very generous, and I’d like to place on record our thanks to them.” Frost and Mahoney saved Panthers from the brink of oblivion when taking control during the 2008 season. They then invested heavily in riding talent and on improving the East of England Showground facilities during their reign. Mahoney said: "Myself and Rick have given our support to the new promotion headed by Ged and Trevor. "While we do not ourselves have the required time to take a hands-on role in the sport, we wish everyone connected with the Readypower Peterborough Panthers a successful 2015 season." Taken from Peterborough Speedway site.
  18. Would any Plymouth not fancy re-signing Josef Franc, looking at the averages Franc could start out as a reserve.
  19. I know someone who recently served a short ban from this forum for this kind of name calling, there is no need for it, hopefully this particular poster will suffer the same fate using whatever username the choose to use, a time to reflect and grow up maybe. I am actually amazed the post hasn't been deleted by the poster by now. And more name calling, have we been at the immature sweeties.
  20. Didn't think it was quite as cold, but at least this week we had goals that was cheered by a crowd of 474.
  21. Wards hearing has been put back one week to January 15th.
  22. Posts 1676 & 1694, no more than that, Berwick announced the Allen a while ago subject to average and visa clarifications.
  23. Edberg hasn't been a free scoring anything in his time racing in the PL, there is nothing to suggest that will change should he sign.
  24. Certainly taking a gamble, though getting a new asset must be very attractive especially given our current asset base. A mixture of Barker and Jorgensen plus a free scoring reserve, as we had for most of last season, should make up for any loss with Allen.
