Berwick V Rye House: Saturday 5th September
screm replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Both are probably true, but its difficult to see any rider that would come in a score any points, I am sure Ruddick will do his best, and the experience will do him no harm but it renders the meeting a foregone conclusion and not very attractive to the paying customer. -
Plymouth V Berwick 4th Sept

I am just worried our friend Dyson has made it down in one piece, I am sure we will get a first hand report very soon. -
I am sure someone far cleverer than I will put up a link, but Lewis Kerr has just been on our regional news programme Look North. In it he thanked everyone for their support, and also said he will be back racing at the start of 2016.

Coventry V Swindon - Wednesday 2nd September

Fair point though not enough to make a difference surely, maybe Coventry need an electrician to sort out the shoddy wiring. -

Agree, it seem nowadays that referees don't like riders making to good a start, but surely if the ref has a rider in a race where he knows that likes to take a gamble IMO the referee is quite entitles to either hold the tapes until the rider moves, then let the tapes up. -

That they are, though Len Silver could probably wait till he turns up tomorrow and borrow one of the Berwick second halfers, you`d think Berwick would announce Lambert`s non-appearance, they could even make a joke out of it. -

I take at some point we will be informed that Robert Lambert and Kasper Lykke wont be turning up tomorrow night. Rye House have applied to the BSPA for a facility to cover Lykke. -

Ipswich V Edinburgh Lcsf 3-9-15 @ 7-30pm

If it hadn't been for Craig Cook`s illness we would've had two seven man teams with no guests at Ipswich this evening, something that shouldve been celebrated. -

Mr. Barker will be gutted, he was here last week and no funfair. -
Oh no not another bloody multi-username on the Berwick thread, pretty soon it will be harder to find the ones with just a single account.

Rolling, Moving And Jumping At The Start
screm replied to SCB's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Riders trying to cheat the starts has gone on for years, in fact years ago it was allowed and certain riders of the day took full advantage. What gets me is that certain riders seem to be warned time and time again during meeting yet very seldom suffer an exclusion. Would it not be better for all referees to warn all riders prior to the meetings that any movement at the tapes will lead to an exclusion, might not cut it out but would IMO reduce it, at the very least we wouldn't get some of the scenes we had at Coventry last night and the sport would be the better for it. -
Berwick rode at Barrow`s Park Road in 1981, though they were unable to fulfil their full league fixtures, those fixtures were wiped off and Berwick withdrawn from the league though they did still continue to race in the KOC. Some might wish Mr. Dyson was still there.

Premier League Riders Championship - Sheffield 6th Sep
screm replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
As a BSPA event you would think that they would insist that this meeting would be written each riders contract at the start of the season so we don't have this situation which seems to be a yearly thing, especially for the likes of Danny King as one of the top riders in the PL he was always likely to feature in this meeting. -

I have only ever been to one of these meetings before, many years at Coventry Speedway when Mark Courtney was representing Berwick. Just now I am on holiday and was half tempted to go to this meeting but as you say if one or two riders cant be bothered then why should I. -
Berwick V Rye House: Saturday 5th September
screm replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Your right, its not Berwick`s fault, something that was already pointed out in post 22. It is also true to say however that the fact that Rye House are turning up without arguably their best rider weakens them and makes the meeting less attractive which might have an affect on the turn out, last team meeting or not. -

I agree it would, but for the meeting as a spectacle overall for the paying public seeing a NL with virtually no PL experience isn't very attractive. -
