  1. One of those home wins against Newcastle, who I think we all can agree are a pretty decent team, and a draw against Glasgow wasn't to shabby, the defeat against Edinburgh was disappointing especially after winning at Armadale.
  2. This performance so far from Torun is of Scunthorpe proportions.
  3. Cant really do alot of digging with nails, but I get what your saying.
  4. Do you ever get the feeling sometimes speedway is digging it own grave.
  5. Surely the MC will look at this performance from Scunthorpe, and any reasons behind it, is this performance in the best interests of speedway.
  6. Maybe the dreaded "white line fever" has returned.
  7. Is what others say is true, and Bager is more at home on the smaller tighter tracks then he might take a liking to Brough Park.
  8. Berwick put up a decent showing a few weeks ago at Brough Park, hopefully they can do the same tonight, though after last night things might just get untidy.
  9. On the whole Scott has done well as team manager so far, yes he made a cock-up at Glasgow the other week but I think we all accept it makes good sense to have a former rider as manager. On last nights evidence there needs to be a sharp improvement from Bager for next weeks visit of Sheffield, hopefully he fairs better tonight at Newcastle.
  10. On the face of things a home defeat to a very impressive Newcastle team isn't all that bad, but the manner of Berwick`s defeat and the total collapse in the second half of the meeting is unacceptable. Ten points up at the end of Ht8, to go on to lose by eight takes a bit of doing but Berwick managed it. Weaknesses in the team last night were a No1 who only scored five and never won a race, the No4 position in the team that has proved to be a problem so far this season and an inability throughout the whole team, Alden apart, to get out of the starts which is a worry because on other threads I`m reading on our away meetings that our riders are out gating the home riders, maybe out track preparations need looking at so we provide a track where our riders can gate. Berwick have made a number of strides forward but last night was a step back.
  11. There was more to his leaving Berwick than Gjedde`s own accord.
  12. If Holob`s average was never going to drop below five, I wonder if he would've been signed by Scunthorpe for this season, or maybe he would've done better than he has so far.
  13. Harris must now target a top eight place to continue as a SGP rider, which is sadly not going to happen.
  14. IMO until Holub got a proper average he should still be classed as a new rider, and in this case should now have a 5pt average.
  15. Dont have a problem with Scunthorpe taking advantage of a rule, or finding a loop hole and making it work in their favour. What I do find strange is the Scunthorpe promoter, as part of the management committee, cant see its not in the interests of PL speedway where you have a rider who can come in on a 7pt average yet cant average 3pts on his first true average. Is the rider good enough for our PL.
  16. Dull misty start to this Saturday, forecast to pretty much stay this way all day but thankfully to remain dry.

  18. Fingers crossed but it appears there is no lasting injury to Liam after his accident at Coventry last night. He was treated for a foot injury but was able to walk, whether tonight's meeting has come a bit soon for him remains to be seen. Ended up as quite an eventful night for Kevin, a four ride 12pt maximum, then sadly taking off and wrecking his bike to such an extent he couldn't take any further part in the meeting. Fair play to the Plymouth fans who got together a collection for him to help with repairs. What absolute and utter hogwash.
  19. As has already been mentioned this is a point that Peterborough need to get an answer to, probably it will be because the doubling up is between NL and PL. Bewley missed last nights meeting at Armadale where Edinburgh needed to use a guest, be interesting to know just how many Edinburgh meetings he will miss due to his Belle Vue commitments.
  20. Tad harsh, Pepe got grip in the wrong place. Fantastic to see Millik get up from that one.
  21. Happily Bager has been signed by Berwick, though you could get Alex Edberg if push came to shove.
  22. Don`t blame Newcastle for trying to get this fixture changed, but Berwick must look after their best interests which I think they have done. Newcastle have been granted guest facility for Kus and Lambert and have booked more than adequate cover for them.
