  1. Somerset look a very handy team, so its no surprise they won and went through. Hopefully Simon Lamberts injuries aren`t as bad as feared and he is back asap.
  2. I agree, though the need for speed seems more important than ever now, especially on these slick tracks. If we are to use more dirt then the bikes need to be slowed down somehow as with the bikes now they seem virtually uncontrollable when the hit any dirt.
  3. Lets hope Gollob gets a team next season, some of his team riding from him this season is incredible.
  4. Berwick have saved two meetings now using covers, but on both occasions they have been lucky with no rain during meeting time. Had it rained yesterday as heavy as some forecasts suggested then the weather probably would've won covers or not. Still think covers are worth looking at, for when it rains in the morning but there is an improving forecast, but it seems with todays meeting at Glasgow the weather would've won no matter what.
  5. You`d like to think so wouldn't, sadly its just how certain riders treat speedway over here these days.
  6. Unfortunately Gappmaier`s qualification for next years SGP ended in Lonigo last night but he has shown in his short time with us he very capable at PL and hopefully will be in the Berwick team for future seasons.
  7. Fair enough, maybe in this case covers wouldn't have help save the meeting, but its something clubs need to look at as with so many rain offs for certain clubs its highly likely they will be unable to get their fixtures in by the cut off gate, without running meetings on off nights or running double headers which in most cases a big money losers.
  8. Fair enough but Berwick`s Nielsen was unable to take part in the re-run through no fault of his own. It just might help to allow an No8 rider come in as and when required as it would let the meeting flow quicker than we had last night, injuries accepted, and give the paying public four riders in as many races as possible and lets face it most No8`s are junior riders with little or no experience so its hardly likely they will come in winning races.
  9. Your right, hopefully with the right rider as Alden`s replacement and we could get a top six place which IMO would be a great achievement, most of us me included had Berwick down for around halfway.
  10. Yes I agree, or both teams should have a No8, where in situations like last night where one or both teams are down to five riders they can come in for the injured rider or as an R/R if needed, for example last night Berwick could've used their No8 in HT1 instead of going with only Kevin Doolan. Berwick have a decent chance of making a top six place, much will depend on finding a suitable replacement for Alden, form is good and there is the chance of points on the road IMO.
  11. First off well done to all who helped in putting the covers on the track and taking them off, with the rain we had late afternoon there`s no doubt the meeting would've been in trouble had this not been done. Sadly those efforts weren't rewarded in an entertaining meeting, obviously lots of breaks due to accidents is understandable but with both teams running R/R the meeting was boring in the most part with breaks for riders having two riders on the trot, thankfully those injured riders seem to have got away without any long lasting injury. Hopefully Berwick will get back to seven riders by the next time we take to the track, I know they have either talked to or are still in talks with many riders but haven't been able to get a rider in, as has already been mentioned R/R isn't the answer long term.
  12. At the track just had a shower but now its bright, the track is still covered and looks to have done it's job.
  13. Thanks for the correction, still think Dudek was the best rider on the night and thoroughly deserves to be the Champion.
  14. Sure Phillip Rising will be able to answer you, though on the teams I don`t know there is any time where you need to declare your team, meaning it would almost impossible for speedway Star to publish the teams.
  15. Knock it all you want, Berwick once again are leading the way to try to get meetings on and deserve huge credit for doing so, maybe if other clubs did something similar we`d be in a better position, might be an idea for you to question your promotion why they aren`t doing the same. Covers went down, we have had a couple of light showers but so far the heavier showers has missed Berwick, all being well we should have tapes up at 7pm. https://www.facebook.com/BerwickSpeedway/photos/a.146513605530987.1073741829.145038505678497/569477879901222/?type=1&theater
  16. Giving the unsettled forecast the track is being covered to help get the racing on, why cant every club be as forward thinking and progressive as Berwick.
  17. That`ll be the Poole team that won at Lakeside, what does that say about our top league.
  18. After his trial and tribulations in recent times its great to see Dudek back on the top step. Winning all his qualifying races, then his semi, then the Final itself means there`s no doubt the best rider won on the night.
  19. Or the Kings Lynn team at Belle Vue.
  20. Rumours of a digestion problem, where he couldn't stomach riding at Berwick, are just that, rumours.....probably.
  21. Poor Todd Kurtz has had to pull out of the meeting tomorrow due to a groin problems.
