  1. Your suggesting, what for the teams who don't reach the play offs, will be a two month season.
  2. It would be great for Lambert to get a team place in Poland, though if he goes to Leszno how many chances would he get, it would be better for him to get regular racing in League 1. Craig Cook signed for Stal Gorzow a couple of years ago but never turned a wheel for them other than in practice, Lambert career would go nowhere if he did a similar thing to Cook.
  3. Belle Vue Speedway ‏@TheAces 9m9 minutes agoOldham, England COOK OUT OF ELRC @CraigCook111 has regrettably pulled out of tonight's Elite League Riders' Championship due to hand and shoulder injuries.
  4. Many said the other day when the field was announced that certain riders would pull out, sadly for the paying public its turned out to be true. Not to long ago this was a meeting all the top riders wanted to be in and win, probably indicative of the way some riders see the EL and racing here as it seems its not much more than wages top up for them.
  5. Unlikely but if everything goes as we hope it will we could here something at the end of the pre-AGM meeting next week or at least soon after.
  6. Fixed night for the EL would certainly be a step in the right direction, though for the reasons others have stated its unlikely to happen. PL isn't so bad as tracks race Thursday to Sunday on their normal nights.
  7. Peter Karlsson said the other night that Wednesday would be last appearance in a Wolves race jacket, I am not sure that meant a complete retirement from all speedway, though if it was what an end to finish your career with a great performance and winning the EL.
  8. With the news over the last few days that Plymouth and Workington face potential closure, doubts surrounding Leicester, Coventry and Belle Vue, lets hope we have some good news from Berwick in the next week or so. Big week coming up.
  9. When speedway returned to Workington crowds were good and they had a good travelling support to all the away tracks, it helped they had a winning team I suppose but what has happened to all those fans.
  10. A few years ago in the Berrington Lough days Berwick`s lights went, they invited fans to go out to the car park and move their cars to the centre green, keep their lights on to keep the meeting running, didn't last long.
  11. To be fair speedways troubles are not just down to the EL. Sad to say but I see more teams over the winter making the same kind of announcements as we`ve had over the last few days from Plymouth and today Workington.
  12. He did indeed, he will definitely be going back to Poole and Matt Ford has said he would like Newman to get fixed up in Poland, if that happens he wont be at Newcastle next year.
  13. Very bad news indeed, the BSPA need to act at this years conference as its no good pretending everything's alright when its quite obviously not, thing is in many cases the damage is already done and Plymouth and Workington may only be the start, Leicester, Coventry, Belle Vue and Berwick all face uncertain futures.
  14. Don`t know about Sunday but Glasgow will run R/R for their meeting at Workington on Saturday.
  15. Ricky Wells comes in a guest for Aaron Summers who has flu.
  16. It would be great to see both teams race in 2017, I am confident Berwick will, hopefully someone out there will come to the rescue of the Devils.
  17. Doyle already signed for Swindon for next season. Will Coventry be changing team manager for next year.
  18. Don`t think Tai actually called the fans booing him scum, but he did say they were idiots, I thought he should've been better than that and simply get on a win the play offs, which he did, IMO the perfect answer to his critics.
  19. Think the pre-AGM meeting takes place next week so its likely Berwick will need to give some kind of intention of running.
  20. Agree with you, once Cook and Lindgren had had their words and were on their way back to the pits that should've been the end of it, mechanics should never get involved.
  21. Now he is back in SGP will Freddie Lindgren be so keen to take on a full EL season, also, Lindgren is bound to ride in Sweden and Poland, if the Poles carry out their threat of riders only riding in two leagues then that would stop Lindgrens return to Wolves.
  22. Great night of speedway last, congratulation to everyone at Wolverhampton Speedway on becoming 2016 Champions, best team over the two legs. You do have to feel for Belle Vue, best team over the whole season but a poor night at Monmore last Monday meant they gave themselves to much to do round their own track though they put up a great fight. Maybe the BSPA could look at giving out a leagues winners shield or something, as the do on rugby league, as it seems unfair on Belle Vue to top the table and have nothing to show for their efforts. So a few fans decided to boo Tai, I am sure he will be over it by now, though if you turn your back on riding for your Country, as Tai has done, then there`s a fair chance supporters will have their say.
  23. Over the two legs Cook didn't deserve to be on the losing team, great effort in both legs of the Final.
  24. All credit to Alec Harkess, but surely as Chairman of the BSPA Buster Chapman should be there to hand out the trophies.
