  1. Certainly has, speedway saved and new jobs coming to Berwick.
  2. Gary Havelock next venture has been announced, he is part of a consortium taking over at Berwick.
  3. FIFTY, NOT OUT! We can celebrate -- your Bandits will be marching on into their fiftieth season of speedway. John Anderson has today revealed the official sale of the club, as a going concern, to an alliance of Scott and Jamie Courtney, together with 1992 World Champion Gary Havelock. "We are pleased to have done a deal, properly and courteously, with Scott, Gary and Jamie" said John. "It is good to know the club is passing into the hands of people who have all been steeped in speedway, probably since birth!" "I can reveal we had other offers, but these are the guys we have chosen". "After all, the continuation of the Bandits for their fiftieth season -- and hopefully for many, many more seasons after this – is the most important thing. This is what Heppy, Ryan and I felt was best for all concerned". For the incoming ownership group, Scott said that he and Dennis (McCleary) would be the promoters in 2017, while Gary Havelock – after four years running the team at Elite League Coventry – would be the team manager. In conclusion, John Anderson said he wished to thank everyone who had contributed so much time and effort to help in the running of speedway at Berwick with him since 2008. “Everyone has been great, and I cannot mention them all” he stated. “However, I want to specifically and personally thank Dennis McCleary, Ian Rae and Dick Barrie for so much, often unseen, assistance over these past eight great years”. “The club is passing into a new, fresh era, and I wish the new guys the very best of good luck and good times”. 4. Glasgow Tigers ‏@_glasgowtigers 9m9 minutes ago NEWS: The club have secured the services of Arthur Sissis for this Mondays KO Cup Final 2nd Leg at the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium. Doesn't say Sissis will be in for the 1st leg.
  5. Maybe that could happen if we ever get a pay per view section on this forum.
  6. 2012, Coventry v Wolves fixture never took place so both clubs only completed 27 meetings.
  7. Posted on the Glasgow Sheffield thread that Garcia dislocated his knee last night so you would think he will be doubtful for both meetings with the Diamonds.
  8. Do you mean this one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77BhcCbUDkk
  9. Somerset have been the best team all season and will be worthy Champions, but Sheffield have come through against all the odds at Newcastle the other week then again last night at Glasgow, dont be surprised if they come out on top against Somerset but my money is on the Rebels.
  10. If Leicester dont complete their fixtures I take it they will face a fine. King's Lynn Stars ‏@KingsLynnStars 12m12 minutes ago The meeting on Saturday at Leicester is OFF! What a surprise. Not! ^ER
  11. As with any takeover there are many legalities to be gone through of one type or another, maybe that would hold any announcement up. I remain positive.
  12. So the 1st leg, that became the 2nd leg, is now back to being the 1st leg, not unless the weather decides otherwise this Wednesday.
  13. In short no, but I think there needs to be a lowering in the points limit for PL teams.
  14. That was the rumour and may well still be the case, maybe Havelock snr is waiting till Havelock jnr has his promoters license.
  15. There`s a Ched Evans thread already opened on the General Discussions part of the forum, maybe those who want to post about the Evans trial could post on there, and leave this one for those who would like to wish Charlie well on her continued recovery.
  16. Hopwood`s statement. https://twitter.com/hopwoodracing?lang=en-gb
  17. Might be wrong but I think Jack Millen was returning from a meeting at Edinburgh and had his fatal accident on the A1 at Grantshouse. Certainly a character and larger than life.
  18. Agree with you, there`s a few stories about Berrington right enough, both on track and off.
  19. Not much, I haven't been down for a couple years but last time I was there the floodlight pylons were still there, breeze blocks that held the pits roof up were there and the bricks that held the refs box up, everything else was either over grown or vandalized. Strange thing is the road into the stadium is far better now than it was then.
  20. I`ve always been positive, if Scott`s interview last Tuesday hadn't gone so well, or his takeover had fallen through I am sure we would've heard something by now as there would be no need to hold a silence and the Anderson`s would be looking for another buyer, maybe we haven't heard anything as the BSPA are still considering Scott's promoters interview, don`t forget there`s an AGM in two or three weeks maybe we will hear something then. I remain positive.
  21. Hang on there, our centre green presenter has wrote many times in his programme column that he doesn't do forums, not unless you are suggesting the odd porky or two.
