  1. All in all quite a night last night at Shielfield, first off well done to Scunthorpe on their way, yes Berwick can claim that luck was against them at times but to put last nights defeat purely down to bad luck would be wrong and very unfair on Scunthorpe. Clearly now, last nights defeat makes changes to the Berwick team inevitable, I think we will see two, first out will go Claus Vissing who appears would rather chase some kind of SGP dream than race for Berwick, that and it appears he didn`t leave the track last week in a van but on the huffy bus after not being selected for Ht15, either way I don`t see anyway back for Claus. Fair to say the club are disappointed to say the least with him. Any hope of Berwick getting anything out of last night probably ended in Ht10 with Bridger, on a tactical, coming down on the first bend, hoping for a rerun, not getting one, leaving the track then rejoining the race miles behind everyone else and still overtaking his partner ( Berge ), who had by that stage all but giving up. Mr Berge would be the second rider out for me, clearly doesn't want to be at Berwick and his attitude and performance last must have put any doubts in the managers head to bed. Couple of positives, first Gappmaier, in the form of his life just now and Bridger, must faster out of the starts when on Liam Carr`s bike and still compeditive so I think there will be some talking to be done between rider and sponsor as, as we all suspected, his problems some to be machine and not rider.
  2. No problem in admitting Berwick were beaten by the better team tonight, all credit to Scunthorpe on their win.
  3. Don`t think you`ll be to far off with your score prediction.
  4. From an interview he gave at the start of the season it would seem more of the latter and less of the former though I`m sure he is giving his crew all the information they need to get a set up. IMO Bridger has the speed and track craft round Shielfield to be a heavy scorer but at the minute his gating is letting him down and you cant give opposition riders any kind of head start.
  5. Cloudy but dry start to this race day, and forecast to stay that way.
  6. No problems weather wise tomorrow so we`re all good to go. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2655819 I still cant see anything other than a home win, Berwick are just stronger than Scunthorpe, end of. Yes the inclusion of Riss at reserve is a good move, and yes Scunthorpe put in a good performance last Saturday at Workington but I dont see them repeating that tomorrow night.
  7. Wallner looks set be out for six weeks.
  8. I predict mysterious, strange events this Saturday night at Shielfield, a home win, yes crazy I know but this Saturday it will happen. Crazy
  9. Skornicki has been released by Wolves and his former club are looking to get him fixed up with Championship club.
  10. Obviously still having trouble as he was due to ride for his Polish club yesterday but didn't, hopefully he will be fit soon.
  11. Hopefully by then Bridger will be making starts, Berge will be giving the kind of performances we have seen in the past and Carr will have sorted out his engines. I still think Berwick have a capable team on paper, yes I know nothing is won on paper, but if this team can perform as they should then we could still have a decent season. Current results continue of course then the date we can start to make changes cant come quick enough.
  12. IMO its always difficult to know what to do for the best when the weathers a bit iffy, though I think its always best to try another day if time allows. Newcastle won`t have called this meeting off lightly as being a bank holiday they would be guaranteed a big crowd and an extra few up from Sheffield.
  13. Certainly two cracking races, and there was a few more, I don`t mind losing meetings when the speedway is as good as we saw last night. But it would be nice to win......sometime.
  14. Looks like Bridgers kit is quick enough, his problems look to be getting out of the starts, something I find surprising giving his experience in the old EL.
  15. Bridger has a very lucrative sponsorship with Revolution Racing who provide all his racing kit, I`d be surprised if he would want to jeopardise that by swapping to GM engines as he would probably have to start funding his own racing.
  16. As long as he is just cutting the grass I`m happy with that. Agree, I still like the look of the Berwick team, if they ride to their potential, sadly some aren`t.
  17. It will be a home win but I'm hoping after an encouraging performance last night Berwick will at least make thing uncomfortable for the Tigers.
  18. Berwick`s original choice at No7 was Luke Chessell, sadly he chose not to take his position in the team. By then virtually all the other clubs had signed their No7`s leaving Berwick a limited choice. That said Ryan Blacklock has let nobody down with his efforts and hopefully he will be back soon.
  19. Seems Mr Barrie is still trying to convince us that he needs telling what goes on on social media, when we all know that horse bolted many moons ago.
  20. I posted yesterday I hoped for good racing, close score and value for money, we certainly had that last night. I find it amazing to hear therefore there may some not going back as if thats the level of speedway we will see each week I will be back week in week out, and the meeting was run at a good pace, so well done to all. With 5Hts to go it was looking likely that Berwick would pull off a shock win, sadly for them Glasgow pulled off an amazing comeback lead by their top three who by that stage were all winning races. Summers certainly put to bed the argument that he cant win races at Berwick and his overtake of Vissing in Ht11 got any comeback off to a flying start. So credit to Glasgow on their win. Losing the meeting from a winning position will be a sore one for the Berwick management but when your No1 doesn't win a race all night and your carrying a rider, the rest of the team have a job on to win a meeting. Bridger does seem quick enough but isn't making starts and you cant give the Glasgow heat leaders a head start. Carr is struggling, maybe last night he was still suffering from his crash at Edinburgh which affected his score, but as has already been mentioned we cant carry passengers, so there may be a decision looming should his scoring continue. Same could be said for Bridger as in tight meetings your looking for your top three, and No1 especially, to win races and his inclusion in Ht15 was baffling as there was nothing to suggest he was likely to go out and win a race that would've given Berwick a draw at least.
  21. Berwick seem produce their best for when their up against it, as they are tonight, I just hope for good racing, close score and value for money.
  22. Big night for Gappmaier with a potential seven rides.
