Forecast has changed slightly since my last post yesterday, and not for the better sadly and as has already been mentioned there will be no chance to use covers as Berwick Rangers are playing at home. https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/0/2655819 -
Scorpions vs Redcar - 6.4.18 - Championship Shield
screm replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Unfortunately Steve Worrall has fractured both tibia and fibula just under his knee which will mean a spell on the side lines. Sounds like he is non to happy with Jonas B Anderson. -
Hopefully all the arguments and issues, petty or other wise will be sorted tonight and we can get on with the racing.

screm replied to Cue Ball's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Any team with only one race winner are going to be up against it to say the least, but to be fair to Newcastle 31pts round Owlerton will be par for course for many visiting teams this season. -
Looks like my Sunday afternoon are all planned for the summer, Sky Channel 424 it is.

How many fixtures run over Easter?
screm replied to Sings4Speedway's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Zero meetings today and with not the greatest forecast for many parts of the Country for tomorrow will mean many promoters are going to be left with a headache re-arranging these fixtures and with the leagues in Europe starting up soon maybe having fixed race nights for the top league will help get full teams to meetings and less guests. -

I'm on it and appreciate the help giving so far. Absolutely, Berwick have shown the way that covers do work for the most part, for that they deserve credit. -

In the past there is no denying that covers have saved meetings, in this case I suspect there is no real window of drier weather forecast for the removal of the covers and then track work to happen. Well done to the promotion for an early decision saving people a wasted trip. -

Wet all day yesterday and currently raining now and forecast to stay that way for much of the day. Yes the covers have been down since early yesterday and have saved many a meeting but in most cases the rain has passed by the time the covers have been removed, time will tell if this weather moves on. -

With today's poor forecast for rain all day and tomorrow's showery forecast I think the track was covered first thing this morning so well done to all involved. -
A little early in the season for a fishing trip surely.

If there is any chance of dragging the sport of speedway into anything like modern times, teams racing in identical race suits must be part of that. After all the vast majority of the sport is a team event so should reflect that, when riders go to race in individual events and want to look like an individual then fair enough but IMO a team event you should look like a team.

Sounds like Jordan Stewarts much awaited debut for Redcar will have to wait for a few days yet as he is still awaiting clearance from the SCB.
-
Best of luck to Leon Flint who is making his debut tonight, huge talent that has every chance of making it big.
-
Nicely edited, though for fairness and for the odd forum rule it would be an idea to quote the whole post. Anyway the part you quoted I still believe, though it is sad the with only a few days to go before season start we have the club and the supporters club at odds, there must be some coming ground somewhere when an agreement or working relationship can be agreed.
-
To be honest I`m not to fussed about this rule being reversed, though its a bit embarrassing for it to happen so soon. If the promoters are really looking at speedway up meetings then the time gap between heats needs to be quicker as IMo there is no reason as the last rider leaves the track from one heat the two minute warning could be started for the next.
-
For 2018 there should be no more than four minutes, including the two minute warning, not unless that rule gets bin soon as well.
-
That rule lasted a long time.
-
Surely at the start of the season is when everyone should be positive, looking forward to the new season, new riders and a good season all round. Sad then the history seems to be repeating itself , lessons possibly not learned.
