I think Jon Cook made some kind of a statement during last nights meeting, anything interesting ?.

You wonder just how much persuading that Tungate took to forgo the Glasgow meeting to go to his Polish clubs practice, would he put several decent pay days a risk to ride in one international. For me Tungate should be at Glasgow tomorrow but it goes to show just what hold Poland has on riders these days.

Maybe for differing reasons but I doubt Lakeside will be the only club to be hit with the threat of closure in the not to distant future. I hope at least some kind of compromise can be found in the short term if nothing else but it does look very bleak.

I take it that Drodz is a Belle Vue asset, for what that is worth nowadays, so maybe they felt a bit more loyalty to one of their own. IMO Etheridge was doing well, or at least well enough not to be dropped when as you say there were weaker riders in the Belle Vue team.

Best wishes and a speedy recovery to Leon Flint who fractured his wrist while riding at Glasgow yesterday.

When you read about the goings on at some meetings this season up and down the Country you get the feeling speedway isn`t dying more committing suicide. -

As others have said the Pardubice club have shown little or no interest in holding a GP in the past and I don`t see that changing. Hopefully the talks between BSI and the Prague mayor are successful and we see a return to Marketa. -
Unfortunately for him but Belle Vue have dropped Jye Etheridge signing Mark Riss as his replacement.

I wouldn't be knocking him, there are very few like him left. -

The collection that was held last night for minibike rider Mickey Bennett raised the magnificent sum of £1141. Details can be found on the club's Facebook page. -

We have mixed teams not mixed races so the 500cc riders race each other with lower cc`s racing each other. Berwick choose from a squad including Keiron Douglas, Leon Flint, Luke Ruddock, Harry McGurk, Sam McGurk and Luke Harrison, all of whom are now making strides in the sport. Sadly it isn't recorded on youtube though the rounds of the 250cc World Championships are live on Youtube. -

Spot on, can`t argue with any of that. As Shadders points out there was new material on the track with no noticeable difference in the actual racing, apart from the races that featured Harris. -

Regarding the four man teams with different bike sizes that is already happening in the Northern Junior League which I see on a regular bases at Berwick after the main meeting. -

I much prefer the rolling averages though that are worked out over a longer period rather than the month to month ones that are open to abuse as we have seen in the past. Take your point with averages though, but I don`t see another system that is at least as good/bad as we have now. Lowering the team averages will only lead to the top riders losing out, making riders like Sarjeant etc even more attractive. -

Great in principle but probably unrealistic in practice though there are teams who are at least starting to attempt that and the work Neil Vatcher is doing with the junior riders is excellent. -

Giving the career he has had Sarjeant should be a trump card at reserve for Glasgow, signed on a low average and still on a low average would suggest he has had a lot more meetings like last night rather than Friday night. He will end the season on a low average oddly making him an attractive signing for someone next season, so his underachievement for Glasgow will give him employment for someone else, only in speedway. -

Welcome win for Berwick last night and surprising at the ease it was achieved as apart from Chris Harris the rest of the Glasgow team team were a major let down for them. Clearly its at reserve where Glasgow lost this, you can probably make an excuse for Jack Thomas at his stage of career but not Sarjeant in fact watching him last night I wonder why teams bother with him at all, very poor. Congratulations to Theo Pijper on his paid max, if only Berwick could find a point or two on their travels they could just about challenge for a play off spot, sadly I don`t see that happening so that leaves only two home meetings left though I hear that there could be one additional meeting at least in the form of an individual meeting for either junior riders ( Stars of tomorrow ) or more established riders ( Bordernaplis ).
