  1. Great stuff, hope to see you there. As racer and royals be aware about pick pockets though I have been there a few times now and never had any problems, just be sensible don`t have your phone or wallet sticking out your back pockets things like that. Seems the hot spots are the narrow streets around the old town leading to Wenceslas Square. As advised the old town is lovely as is the palace, don`t let the walk up the hill put you off, once there the views of Prague are lovely.
  2. Always buy your ticket, I use the Speedway GP site. Getting from airport to city is very easy with public transport readily available. Personally I book a car through the airport transfers site, yes its more expensive but they delivery you to your hotel door so if you are going for the first time it might be an idea to look at that, they will also do the returm trip which you can book on their site, dont use private taxis as they will rip you off, if you are using the taxis use the official ones and get your price before your journey. Travelling around Prague could not be cheaper or easier be it tram, which I use, metro or bus, you will need a ticket which your hotel will almost certainly sell or you can get them in many of the tobacco shops. Once on validate your ticket using the machines. For the last few years I have stayed at the Pyramida Hotel, very handy for the city as the tram stop is right outside and very handy for Marketa as its only half a dozen stops up to Marketa, use tram 22 Bila Hora. Enjoy your trip
  3. Statements have been released so we will have to take them at face value, though as you point out there is the odd discrepancy, maybe some people think us punters are that stupid. Biggest crime in all of this is that a meeting isnt taking place that should be, and given the cause that it supports organisers, riders, clubs should be ashamed of that.
  4. In the statement released it appears that part of the problem is that now there are fixtures being arranged that is taking riders away from the original field so you could just as well ask why is the clubs and/or the BSPA doing this, it may not just be down to the riders. There may well be good reasons but I am struggling to understand why clubs had so many empty regular race nights during the hottest, driest summers in years that saw the deadline extended at least once.
  5. Personally I wouldn't be bothering with Jason Garrity full stop, always there seems to be a problem or two.
  6. Yes I made the team. Better get practicing I think as I have work cut out supporting our No1
  7. Unless you move GP practice you would have to hold any extra meetings on Thursday's
  8. I will don't worry, the way you describe the Prague SGP you could quite easily say about every SGP as its hard to put forward any GP that is great from the get go.
  9. Delighted to see Prague back in the SGP calendar and I will be there next June which will be six years in a row. As for the racing I think Thomas Topinka is head of track operations at the Marketa now and since taking over in General the racing has been much improved.
  10. Agree with Mr Felton, like him Tai is not my favourite rider and it would be fare to say we have had our run ins on Twitter but should he go on to lift this year's World title then he will surely be our best rider ever, he has the record to prove it after all.
  11. So Birningham wont make the play offs.
  12. Great win for Tai last night and he now has to finish the job off in Torun, which he done before of course. To much of an ask IMO for Smarzlik to pull those points back. Looks like a bit of a scrap for the eighth place with Sayfutdinov, Laguta and possibly Zagar all within reach of the injured Dudek, one things for sure if Dudek was to drop out of the top eight that would take care of one of the wild card picks for next year. Best news of all however is that it appears Craig Cook has not suffered any broken bones from last nights crash and is intent on riding tomorrow at Belle Vue.
  13. No empty stadium, I will be there with the other half, and I know of another four going from Berwick. So there`s half a dozen at least.
  14. If Belle Vue are serious about winning the play offs they cannot rely on Troy Batchelor to help.
  15. Guessing the weather is not an exact science that we all know, but you have to question taking a SGP to northern Germany at this time of year
  16. They will probably race again but another accident and that will be that IMO.
  17. Bit of a blow to Glasgow on their play off hopes as Craig Cook has crashed in the SGP suffering a suspected broken wrist.
  18. Meeting line up Sam Masters Kevin Doolan Josh Grajczonek Aaron Summers Tero Aarnio Jye Etheridge Jason Garrity Mathew Wethers David Howe Kyle Howarth NB Jacobsen Lars Skupien Coty Garcia Paul Starke Kasper Anderson Rafal Konopka
  19. Wishing Alex Edberg a long and happy retirement.
  20. Its always sad when a long serving rider calls it a day but its great to see Stuart go out on his own terms, not having to retire due to injury, not announcing his retirement after not getting a team place, but getting out when he is still capable of doing a decent job for a team. Happy retirement Stuart.
  21. Unless things have changed there is no Czech SGP for next year.
  22. Any rider who doesn`t even attempt to qualify by right should never be considered for a GP spot.
  23. Cogratulations to Kyle Bickley, Sam Hagon and Leon Flint on their wins last night and to Leon Flint becoming British Champion in the 500cc class. Decent racing with 20+ races all done by just after 9pm.
