  1. Maybe George was thinking he was Berwick manager that night, does nobody check read these press releases on web sites. http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/18669/berwick-championship-shield-07-2019
  2. 6-30pm according to Newcastle site http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100987
  3. Enjoyable enough meeting but sadly for Berwick they are a few points short of being able to go through IMO as I thought before hand that 10-12pts minimum was needed. Very impressive from Steve Worrall and some thrilling moves from Thomas Jorgensen. Ride of the night certainly goes to Leon Flint who`s second place in Ht10 while holding off Lasse Bjerre was very impressive. As most of us thought Newcastle wouldn't be as bad as they were in the earlier match and so it proved, that makes them favourites to go through and face Edinburgh.
  4. Not quite sure what Berwick are fiddling, you may not like the rule that sees teams able to use guests for any member of the team, I would agree with you actually, but its there.
  5. No problems weather wise, dry now and forecast to stay that way. Agree with the point about Newcastle cant be as poor as they were earlier in the season where Berwick won both at home and away, so Berwick need to improve to and with a team short of a rider and captain they have a job on to qualify for the semis.
  6. Agree with going with Starke for Sunday, but personally I still think a guest and seven man team would be the way to go for Saturday night. I guess we will find out on Monday morning when we find out who`s still in the KOC.
  7. Hallelujah, team news, though teams not in riding order. http://berwickbandits.co/news/local-derby-cup-fever-hits-town
  8. Quite right, something I had forgot, maybe I should've said but for Poland he would've been picked up some where after Workington folded. Either way I think Birmingham have made a good signing IMO.
  9. But for signing in Poland i thought Aarnio would've started the season somewhere, but a Wednesday night track will suit just fine and i think Tero will do more than a decent job for Birmingham.
  10. New signing BIRMINGHAM have snapped up Finnish international Tero Aarnio. The unattached 35-year-old replaces Ulrich Ostergaard who has endured a tough run of scores. Aarnio, who has a wealth of experience at second tier level, will make his debut for the Edwards Plumbing Brummies in Wednesday’s Championship home clash with Sheffield at Perry Barr (7.30). Team boss Laurence Rogers said: “First and foremost I think we need to thank Ulrich for his efforts during the opening couple of months this season. “The way we’d built our team over the winter meant he started at No.1 but he was up for the challenge and we thought he’d turned a corner when he scored double figures against Eastbourne at the beginning of the month. “But he’s struggled in his last four meetings for us and his scores from the heat-leader position he’s been in have been well below what we need as a team. “He’s had a few things going on behind the scenes as well and we hope Ulrich does get signed up somewhere else very soon because he’s a smashing guy. “As for Tero, he’s got so much experience at this level and he really is a capable performer. “He’s represented Finland on the world stage many times and he was itching to get back into British Speedway. “He was a really reliable member of Newcastle’s team last season and he’s been hitting some good form on the continent as well, including a ten-point score in Sweden on Thursday night where he got the better of Grand Prix star Antonio Lindback in the process. “We’re delighted to welcome him to Birmingham and we thank Rob Godfrey at Scunthorpe for his co-operation over the past 24-hours. “Again we hope this reiterates to Birmingham supporters that we’re not just happy to be a part of this league – we want to compete as best we can and we want to the best that we can be.”
  11. You could have a look at the Berwick site where, at time of writing, there`s a report on our last meeting at Eastbourne but nothing as yet about tomorrow night. Very poor.
  12. https://www.edinburghmonarchs.co.uk/news-centre/article/2019-05-30/victor-returns-to-monarchs
  13. Good luck to NB Jacobsen who takes part in the Danish Final tonight Holsted, those who can will be able to watch it live on TV 2 Sport.
  14. Obviously availability of riders will be key but I would like to think Berwick would take the guest option for both nights as if we run with six riders and one has a poor night, injured etc we will struggle. A guest is a must for Sunday.
  15. 30 years How to make someone feel very old very quick.
  16. See I`ve got you down as a supporter, especially with a season ticket, and not a fan, maybe you should run it by Mr Barrie as he`s the one keen to divide everyone up.
  17. There`s not a man out there who doesn't know that feeling.
  18. I dont see how Scunthorpe can re-introduce Jedd list after they dropped him a few weeks ago, its not as if he was signed by someone else. Yes there`s the "in the best interests of the sport", whatever that means, and I suppose Scunthorpe can rely on the management committee to pull this round for them but IMO its just plain wrong and if its not against the rules than it should be.
  19. Even if its only a few you have to feel for any Sheffield fans who have booked travel, hotels etc for this meeting.
  20. Brady Kurtz has just been interviewed and its seems unlikely we will see him race tonight.
