I do following this thread and thought it was a god Idea to give you some extra info. Did you hear the interview with Max Fricke, was the quality god enough? -
When you see Darcy and THJ in the GP, its hard to believe that noone of these two execellent rider managed to qualify for the GP Challenge.
-
Plenty of fans outside GB love to watch the GP at Sky Sports cause the production is so much better than their own national. Unfortunatly, viewers outside GB, atleast not in Sweden, are not able to buy Sky Sport even if they would love to. Didnt Emil win his first GP?

We can have plenty of opinions and ideas about who we would like to see in the GP or what kind of qualificationsystem we would prefer but has BSI ever surprised us? No is the answear and it will not happend this year neither. The nineth and tenth place will get a WC and Harris will get one as long as he is considered to be the best british rider. But I would prefer if the bottom-7 in the GP could have met the top-9 from GP Challenge and the best five would get a ticket to next year GP and that BSI only could nominatee two riders (in case of injury for example). But that solution require the best of worlds. I hope atleast G. Laguta gets a WC next year. He is tough enough to fight with the best and I believe he could end in the top-10. -

If the standing stays like it is now, Nicki, Freddie and Harris will get a Wild Card. The last one is between THJ, Darcy and G. Laguta. As a swede i would love to see THJ in the GP but BSI will probably prefer two russians or three aussies instead of four swedes. -

If I strictly pick the best from the list Lindbäck is the one I would choose. Next after him comes Andersen followed by Zagar. So I go for these three. If Freddie and AJ ends up in the top-8. I can switch Zagar for Ljung even if I believe Ljung would end up like Zorro, between 12-14th place in the final score. -
Swc Changes Needed ?
Niclas replied to Robbie B's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I miss the times when the team just included two riders. If you change the World Cup from five riders team to two riders tem more country will be able to participate and its more likely that other team than Danmark, Poland and Sweden will win. For example is it à greater chance Russia Will win with Emil and Laguta or USA with Hancock/Fisher. Even countries like Ukraine and Slovenia will have à chance to mess up à little bit for the topnations. Ride every heat in pairs and let all team meet eachother once. I have no idea how many teams you need in à final to get 20-25 heat but I believe we need to do something to make it more equal for the smaller speedwaynations. -
Poland wins because World Cup is a huge event for them. When Poland arrange the World Cup thry pick a track that suits them very well. Then they add 25000 screaming fans and suddenly they have the atmosphere that would have done Adam Skornicki to à superstar. I am convinced that Poland could have been ridden with Janowski and Pawlicki and still have been standing on the top of the podium. And to be honest, tonight we had ten GP-riders, some riders that are on there way down some riders on the way up and few riders that actually aint good enough for à World Cup (ie Mads K, Dave W and Jonas D). It harder to score points in à GP then in the WC, that is the reason why Pepe, Kolodziej and KK seems to be top-class riders. As far as I know the Race-off and the final will be held in Eskilstuna in Sweden, at the stadium where it used to be GPs back in the days. Congratulations Poland. You did an amazing competition tonight. I am glad Sweden managed to get the bronzemedal even if AJ had an extremly bad evening. But THJ is a man for the future. He Will soon be an ordinary GP-rider.
-
Maybe payback after Hampel sent Darcy down to the ground
-
I agree, hopefully there will be plenty of good lines to ride and I also hope all gates will be equal. Gate 3 during race-off seemed to be à little tricky for most riders.
-
So, the great question is how the final will end. We have a great debate on the swedish forum if Sweden will be able to beat Danmark and Australia. Polen is considered as winner by most of the Swedish fans but me and some others believe Sweden can manage to get second. But if that Will happen Freddie needs to deliever tomorrow and AJ and Anton continue to score points. What do you think?

Speedway World Cup Team Line Ups
Niclas replied to Ben Alderton's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Mr Bridger might have something to learn from Freddie Lindgren who just twittered: Just seen the crash from last night heat 16 and I must say well done and thank you Tai. That could have ended up nasty. Stupid move by me. -
Speedway World Cup Team Line Ups

Maybe Bridger and Barker should try to get a contract with a club in Allsvenskan in Sweden (the second league). They are not good enough for the elitserien but could get good training in Allsvenskan. Allsvenskan nowdays includes riders like AJ, THJ, Zorro, Jonas D, Simon G, Mikael Max, Dennis Andersson, Danil Ivanov, Ty Proctor and Patryk Dudek. I guess its not wellpaid but it gives atleast a possibility to ride outside GB and that is what I think both Bridger and Barker need to get to a higher level. -
I found it finally på sportowefakty.pl. http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2011/07/08/zlote-trofeum-w-minizuzlu-woryna-w-finale/

Thanks for the link but it only shows the results from the quarterfinals that took place yesterday (7/7). As far as Im concerned, there has been two semifinals today but I might be wrong.
-
Anyone who got any information about the semifinals in the Youth Gold Trophy (80cc) in Rybnik in Poland? There are no british riders but there is an aussie rider (and of course, plenty of Nordic riders.
-
Sorry, i mean of course Teurnberg. But as Fsp is saying, Kalle had his chances. In his first heat he had 2 point until he was passed by B Jensen and he didnt have to let Mäkinen pass him. So Kalle has noone Else to blame than himself. Hopefully, Kalle will learn to Focus on right things and dont blame others for his failures.
-
I was actually asking the assistent teammanager of Finland why Mäkinen didnt let Kalle get the second place. He just said its à good question and then added that its à long story. So I guess it has been problems getting Kalle and Mäkinen to cooperate earlier. But I was surprised by Kalle. He did it very good but I think he could have been ridden more "rough" than he did. As many of you have mentioned, U-21-competitions have problems to get people to the track. Malmö was no exception, as I remember it was around 370 people watching (comparing with over 900 when Gnistorna rode against Ikaros Smederna last thursday). I really dont get it why more people aint coming. Juniorspeedway is often tight and exiciting). However, as à Swede i am happy that we have five riders in the semi. If Simon and Linus keep up the speed they will make it to the final and hopefully together with Dennis:-)
-
Its actually an interested issue if many foreign riders in the domestic league gives good or bad outcome. Sweden dont have a rider like Tony anymore but we he young riders like Lindgren, Antonio, Davidsson, THJ and Dennis Andersson even if we have plenty of foreign riders in the league. But Denmark has a "low class" league and still have plenty of good riders. So whats the best?
-
And to be honest, does Sky gets more viewers if Tai gets a nod and keep on going like ha has done this year? I can imagine that plenty of the british viewers just get upset about watching Tai loose heat after heat. And i am pretty sure two or three GBs in Cardiff dont make any matter to the audience. Like the rest of the fans around the world, they are interested of sucessful riders. Sweden has had three riders this year, but all the struggle for AJ and Lindgren has just left me with a big disappointment. I prefer one good swedish rider than three unsucessful riders. Maybe Sky and BSI have another perspective and can identify some great income that i cant.
-
According to the swedish commentators Tai hasnt decided if he wants to be a part of GP next year and to be honest, I understand why. It cant be so fun to end up as number 14, 25 points after number 13 (39-years old Zorro) and 47 points from top-8. I think its a waste of his talent to put him in the GP. He is a good rider but to be a part of GP has just been bad for Tai. His performance in Sweden has been more or less a disaster, he has lost around 1,5 points in his average. So let him stay out of the GP for a couple of years and then GB will have a rider who actually deserves to be a part of the World Championship and even might be a candidate for top-5.
-
I cant do anything else than agree. I had my doubts about AJ but it is hard to kick someone out of the GP just finished one point from top-8. Kolodziej has been absolutely terrific this season and world championship has to include the best riders. If he keeps on going like he finished this season he is one of the candidates for the medals next year. Both Emil and Nicki will get a nomination based on what they have done earlier and no question they deserve it.
-
Interesting, plenty of fans in Sweden have another opinion. They blame Scott for the accident as he tries to give THJ an elbow to get in front of him. Unfortunately, THJ will probably not ride in Malilla as he has got a severe concussion. I guess Jonas D or Antonio will replace him.

Swc Final, Vojens, 31/07/2010
Niclas replied to Mateusz's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I guess Mr Rickardsson could be considered to be on the same level as Gollob. No question that Gollob today is the best rider in the world but their has been riders earlier that has been genius on the bike as well, for example Jan O Pedersen was an amazing rider. But I really hope Gollob wins the the title this year cause noone else in the topspeedway deserves it as much as Tomasz Gollob.
