Good racing on a slick track, better presentation than Coventry the flag was the right way up. The right teams progressed to the final, all the British riders rode to their potential, more so in the case of Tai Woffinden very impressive debut. If Lynch remains in the job he needs to be aware of the strengths of his riders, Nicholls and pressure don't mix. -
No Richardson got 6, Allen got 5. But the two to drop were Nicholls and Stead IMO.

Swedish averages for team GB and Poland Team GB Nicholls 7.01 Richardson 6.75 Harris 5.83 Stead 4.95 Allen 4,47 Woffinden, allsvensken (div 2) one match only 9.42 Kennett no average released by Kumla, due to poor scores. Poland Hampel 7.84 Holta 9.04 Walasek 6.03 Jagus 8.32 Kasprzak 6.84 Gollob 8.56 These averages are not from big flat eastern european tracks. The British elite league is a poor indicator of form with international meetings due to it's poor quality. -

The Danish riders earn their money racing as do the other riders. Point is they will be paid more than the British riders by promoters because they perform better, not only in Britain but also abroad. This allows then the advantage of better equipment. If you ran a team and could pay a rider 4,000 quid a meeting would you employ Bjarne Pederson or Simon Stead. How riders spend their earnings is up to them and are not dictated by federations or promoters. But in sport as in life you can only reap what you sow. -

Believing the Sky sports and other media hype more like. Turn up, home track, poor Swedish team, only need to come second to get to the playoff. Complacency, the low standard of the elite league doesn't help either, all the GB riders look good in their teams, but at international level they are average at best. -

that must be the reversing overtake then, do you get more points for that. Seems the British team have perfected the move, years of practise I guess -

I wish I could type quicker you beat me to it. SVT 24 showed a meeting which IMO had as much if not more overtaking than any GP this year. -

Gb Bikes And Tuners

Good post. The strange thing to me is Scott ,Chris and in the past Lee, have all ridden on Ole Olsen prepared tracks. Why is it a problem to set a bike up. Scott Nicholls 60 GP's and every one starts like his first ever. The Danes and the Swedes have the set up instantly, the British riders don't find it till race 15? On to Thursday more of the same ? Don't the British talk to each other ? What is the point of the top three Brits being there if they can't (don't) help the less experienced riders ? You are correct tunning engines is not the, b all and end all of bike preparation, communication and advice helps. -

Nice to hear that a youngster knows, there's hope for us yet. But I think he needs more guidance the one in yellow was better -

MARK246 replied to skid row's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
If he wasn't fit why not wait till the race off ? There was no hope of team GB winning anyway against the Danes. This meeting would have been a better test fo the younger riders. Sorry, but poor Scotty is not 100% fit is not a real reason for his score. Maybe he is more concerned about his 15 minutes of fame than team GB. -

MARK246 replied to skid row's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The FIM have put a qualification system in place to try to ensure the best riders are in the championship. Why do riders bother to spend money and time investing in the system, when the individual federations ignore the results. If a rider does not feel confident about his chance of qualification through the proper route, he should not be included in the championship -

Best British Qualifier last year was Richard Hall and this year it's Lee Richardson. Why does Scott Nicholls get the nomination? -
Why not reduce the pay scales, to an economically viable level to the clubs and less appealing to the foriegn riders.

It's only the Irish part that's not symmetrical, there's no Welsh bit otherwise it could of been SO obvious with an upside down dragon. Maybe they hoped to be saved. -
