  1. Nice to see you have a sense of humour after tonight, it's the wifes turn on the tyres today.
  2. I'm happy just watched A.Jonsson win last year, in a race with the 4 best riders in the world Jonsson ,Crump, Adams and Hancock. Thanks to Swedish TV for the rerun.
  3. Swedish TV is showing the German GP from last year tonight. The racing wasn't as bad as some GP's have been this year.
  4. To be fair to speedway it was never a sport, when J Hoskins discovered dirt track racing it was a showground attraction. After today it may have been better to promote the bearded lady.
  5. Thanks Iris, Manu. may be early for this one then Hope there's no roof on the stadium though
  6. Does anyone have results or updates for the Golden Band meeting in Olching.
  7. You read and post on this forum, surely you've heard of media "spin". Otherwise known as bulls##t.
  8. Which in fairness to the most important speedway nation, is more important than a second rate meeting, on a temporary track that decides a championship which is already over.
  9. N. Pedersens crash in Poland ? A. Jonsson's illness ? C Harris is injured ? poor ticket sales ? You can take your pick.
  10. Simon Wigg won the World Longtrack Championship 5 times.
  11. Also how Holta acted when Nicholls tried the same move on him, just like it was a racing incident. Pure class.
  12. With 4 wildcards BSI still invite over 25% of the riders in the "world Championship"
  13. Szczakiel had more than one good day,he won the World Pairs Championship in 1971 with A. Wyglenda. On that day he outscored Mauger,Briggs and Michanek, no mean feat in the 70's.
  14. Hope Chris Holder enjoys his permanent wild card in the GP's next year team Australia worked hard for it tonight.
  15. Three weeks holiday enjoying the rest but still doing my own tyres.
  16. If that information's right and there's no practice, then the Poles must be favourites.
  17. Team GB under 21's Bridger Barker Lawson Lambert Woffinden Full result is on www.speedway.org.
  18. Quite interesting to note, how well Andrew Appleton is going in the longtrack and grasstrack events in europe since he quit the British racing scene. I must agree the British lads get poor rewards for their efforts in league racing. Maybe the way forward is to emigrate then return on a foreign licence, less pressure, better facillities.
  19. Don't disagree about Chris Louis, but as a rider Nicholls should have known about gate 1 and advised Lynch, if he was unaware. The fault cannot be Lynch's alone, the rider, chasing head lines in the press should also take some criticism. Lynch's biggest fault was to have a captain with an ego problem. For his first two meetings under pressure, like he was, with the riders he has at he's disposal IMO he did quite well.
  20. Look at the Peterborough thread. A British speedway track is dying and the vultures are deciding which riders can go where.
  21. Before I moved to Sweden I was heavily involved in junior grasstrack, but over the years the attitude of the parents changed dramatically. It changed from being a pleasure to absolute chore to help. You can read on other threads what type of kids came through spoilt brats, mostly. Now I've lost touch sadly but a few good lads still ride two were in the EM this year. The help to set up and run this aren't there anymore, every one wants instant success speedway traing schools seem to provide it without the effort of learning to race, all you do is ride in circles as fast as you can no competition no learning to race it shows in meetings like tonight, there's no fight.
  22. All that matters to British fans is how their home team is riding. Anything out of the country doesn't exist. If theres a new rising star he's to be knocked on the forum if he signs for another team. Im allright Jack f--- you. The football supporter mentality.
  23. The Russians and the "lesser" Poles in the Elitserien do regularly beat the British riders. Having changed from watching British to watching Swedish speedway, my opinion of these "ex eastern block" riders has changed they are good entertainment, good riders and always improving. The young Germans coming through are also riding well, Hefenbrock at Kumla was drafted in to replace Kennett. From what I have seen in the leagues here, the British have fallen way behind with developing their young talent. The big problem with Britain is it's no longer needed to develop a rider, only as a place to earn money between continental bookings.
  24. All of the British riders do, having watched them all except Woffinden in Sweden this season, they were all better.
  25. The boy did really well, I hope he continues to improve. I look forward to seeing him ride in Sweden.
