IMO it works well, only problem I had is when I took some local Swedes to Kumla, they complained about the breaks in the racing, it doesn't happen on TV.

Nice to see Leon Madsen going well,he was excellent at Kumla against Rospiggarna. His race with Sullivan in heat 10 was great

The race to decide 15th/16th place is heat 20 should be an interesting race

Is the British final only held as a money earner for the BSPA now then. Surely that meeting should be the qualifier.

It looks like the top six from the five qualifiers plus one home seeded rider in the semis. Really tough on the reserves. I hope the injury isn't as bad as is feared. It was looking really good for qualification up to that.

On an earlier post it said the standing area was packed like sardines, so maybe more about the ticket price than racing quality.

But no different to Lakeside, Coventry and Swindon on Sky tv Would have thought it suited the Brits.

It's not slick tracks that give processional racing, it's the riders on it. Sajfutinov,Pedersen, Walasek, Adams, Harris all had the ability/desire to overtake in Prague: Too many riders are safe within the GP series, hopefully the rumoured change in the qualification, with only the Champion and 4 TV picks (wild cards) returning will liven it up. The GP was better than most Sky sports live "Elite" league meetings for entertainment, and a worthy winner. A good nights viewing.

Wait till Nicholls signs for Poole the tune will change then.

Just back from Finland, the answer to the question is no. The same old problem for the British, his partner had another baby (when we were in Russia) and the cost of the ferries and travelling. It's a real shame as it was a well organised meeting and it would have been good experience for him. The problem will always remain, while British Ice Racing is rider (self) financed.

Ian, the meeting on the 8th is being run by Jo Seatre (the Norwegian rider) and it will feature four British riders if everything goes to plan,as Kevin Rowand and Rob Irving are also included in the line up. This meeting in the last two years has been cancelled due to lack of ice, but this winter has been far colder. I'm the UK rider in the Oslo meeting. Just leaving for Finland now, the temperature looks good and I'm looking forward to a good weekend

Due to visa problems I have had to withdraw from Togliatti but everything is in place for Lukhovitsy. Hopefully Kevin Rowand will be joining me.

According to the late Bob Jones the Autodrome was the piece of land where Tiverton road is now. His friends' father owned the Duke of Edingburgh pub and had the keys to the stadium. The story told to me was. Bob used the track to practice on.
