  4. It's strange that all of this has happened just weeks after the BARB viewing figures have been amended to give more accurate numbers. //www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=51662&st=15 The figures on this thread suggest that Sky were over estimating viewers by, in some cases as much as 200% using their old BARB calculations. This would have misled the Sky directors and their potential, and existing advertisers, to the benifit of showing speedway as a live sport. Therefore relagating the sport to a minor position in their schedules.
  5. The run off is needed for the presentation of trophies and prize money.
  6. Nicholls didn't fall when he knocked THJ off the first time.
  7. Thats how he tried to ride. His interview at the start of the meeting showed how he felt about being in the reserve spot, for the "first time since I was 17." He had a point to prove tonight, but over did it on the track.
  8. Pawlicki rode earlier today at Divisov in the EM U19 team championship, which the Polish team won easily only dropping 4 points.
  9. Lvov, Rovno and Chervonograd have all held EM championship meetings this season.
  10. It's not only at international level the Brits are like this though. Two seasons ago a British rider was signed to ride for a team in Sweden, he was given the chance to practice at their home track with help from the teams top riders. He told the team manager, he 'was a professional rider and didn't need to practice, as he could score points anywhere'. During the season after scoring 7 points from 3 meetings, 2 of them at their home track, he was dropped.
  11. //www.speedway.org/ has the meeting as tomorrow at 15.00 CET, due to the rain today
  12. SVT 24 is showing the meeting on the 26th from Kings Lynn, at 20.30 Swedish time. The meeting on the 29th at Vojens is on the same channel at 20.00 and the final is on the 31st at 20.00.
  13. As Bogdanovs had qualified from Lendava with 12 points and an ef,and won the semi final at Krsko with a 15 point score, it's not a suprise to see him at the top. Shame that the meeting didn't get completed he could of finished with a bigger lead. The next meeting is at his home track so it's looking good
  14. People on this forum complained that tax payers money was used on the new Wembley stadium. It's a good job no one watches the Speedway GP, think of the uproar, wasting taxpayers money on dirty motorbikes.
  15. There's only two British riders in the GP Challenge Final, one is Stead.
  16. www.speedway.org has the names of the three French riders, R.di Biasi, X.Muratet and A.Ellis but no meeting details yet.
  17. The MFR are not always the problem, Russian riders have the same problems when they ride in Europe. The paperwork for the visa's is the government not the MFR, iceracing has faced this problem for years.
  18. You don't need to send your passport to get a visa for Russia. The embassy in London or Edinburgh will process a visa in a day. The paper work is a problem but in the last few years the MFR has become a lot better in solving the 'red tape' troubles
  19. The latest news on the silencers from Germany is on www.speedway.org. Four riders were testing them against the old 2008 2009 models. The results showed that the new silencers improved the performance of the bikes. It is looking more like riders are just using the silencers as an excuse not to compete. The worrying trend is riders don't want to compete in FIM meetings because of the payments, as the British attitude to the U21 WC showed.
  20. IMO this meeting was a test to see if a Russian GP is a possibility. With the strong Russian showing in the U21's and Sayfutdinov a genuine challenger GP's, the Russian nation looks to be the up and coming force in world speedway. This meeting could well be the first of many to be held in Russia, the European riders will have to accept the problems that come with riding there. Other competitors in other sports can do it.
  21. The 3 semis all have a wildcard, selected by the federation running the meeting. The space in the final is left for a wildcard for the federation if required. Last season the space was taken by the 6th finisher in the Motala semi, as Harris qualified for the GP challenge held at Coventry
  22. The latest on the Madsen exhaust, taken from speedway-forum.de translatedon google ... To again return to the topic of Leon Madsen and Schalldämpferunregelmäßigkeit ...... Country coach Jan Staechmann stated in the Danish press that they need someone like that is not in the team, such actions can not accept it. In the team's formation to the team championship Leon will not be considered! Leon sending you push the whole thing on his mechanics ..... Friday evening, Leon is still driven in Super League Brovst (where the old muffler may be used). Around 2.00 clock in the morning they had only been back in the workshop. His mechanic would then have "forgotten" to install the blocker again in the new silencer ......
