  1. From what has been written by World Champions from the past, there has never been a large financial gain directly from the FIM, most of the rewards come in the form of sponsorships. Due to the level of FIM funding, the qualification rounds are not supported by the GP riders as it would prove, for them, to costly to ride. IMO that is more reason to use riders that are prepared to earn their place by the qualification rounds to achieve their ambitions, than ones that wait for hand outs.
  2. If Ward is in the line up for the GP's Holder may be looking for a wildcard this time next year, there was a reason he didn't become World U21 Champion. I can see Ward making the top eight but there's a huge step to the top six.
  3. They were used at Sanok (Poland) in 2008 at the EM Iceracing Championships, during the practice it recorded lap times and speeds. It was thought at the time, due to the warm weather, these times would be used to decide placings if the meeting was cancelled.
  4. Why should a national motorcyle federation(ACU), using licence holders money, help promotors increase their assets.
  5. Statistics can be used to show either side of an argument. Harris's figures from the GP series, 74 points from 57 rides is only a 5.19 average
  6. It was Pedersen who replaced Sullivan, we can all make mistakes
  7. Pr. Pawlicki was excluded for hitting the back of Sullivans bike http://www.speedwaylive.se/2.15.7.php?id=46 Gustafsson replaced Sullivan in the rerun.
  8. Is it that variety of track shapes that is helping to keep the Brits at the top in world speedway
  9. They've both had some track time at Örebro today, so it looks good for the race tomorrow
  10. Speedway has never been classed as a sport, it's not in the Olympics. In the past, meetings in the UK paid entertainments tax.
  11. Or he knows he's got the wild card next season
  12. Det var en ära att tävla med dig och kalla dig en vän, vila i frid Peter
  13. That does seem a small budget to me. Gunther Bauer is reported, in Motorrad magazine to have a budget of 75,000 for only 8 GP's on the ice. The GP speedway riders must be spending at least double that.
  14. The British have 5 places in the qualification rounds, 2 riders in Esbjerg 2 in Terenzano and 1 in Divisov. There are no GB riders alloted yet, but the Czech and German riders have been named.
  15. Jouni Seppänen had problems with his clutch basket in Övik during the Swedish league meeting. It's good to see he was able to repair it in time for the Finnish final.
  16. The Norwegians did well then, it's £200 more than I got to ride the Ice qualification round in Austria.
  17. Kevin Rowand (there's no l) started riding in 2006. He has rode in the European Championship in 2009 and the 2010 Czech Republic pairs championship His bikes were for sale, but he has got them back and will ride at Flims on the 5th of Feb.
  18. No problem I will send the information by pm
  19. I have places and points totals for 01.05.74. in Bremen, Germany and 05.05.74. in Monticello di Fara, Italy but no heat details.
  20. I don't think that Rob will be able to ride, which is a pity it would have been good to have all the British riders together in a meeting. There is some other interesting news for German based fans. The motoring magazine Motorrad will have an article about Gunther Bauer, in the February issue which is published on the 4th of Feb. I spoke with Klaus Herder, who wrote the article at Saalfelden, it was his first ice race meeting and was totaly hooked on the sport.
  21. All the information you need is here www.prodrive.com/up/Prodrive%20115_SWEDISH_PRODUCT.pdf
  22. Well done Mats, on Swedish spikes, made in Bergströms Mekaniska
  23. St. Johann is natural it is on the speedway track, but the problem was the pit area, not the track for practice yesterday. I've not ridden Saalfelden before but I'm lead to belive it is natural as well, I will know for definate after next week. Thanks for the suport, I have had a problem with my hand since my 1st race at Gniezno hopefully a weekends rest will help.
  24. The practice was cancelled because it rained for 3 days and washed the ice away in the pits. The practice will take place tomorrow at 2pm and the meeting will start at 6pm.Is the message I have recieved from pit crew in St Johann.
